Excellent location close to beach, shops restaurants. The pool area was wonderful kept very clean comfortable lounge chairs with nice beach towels food and drink service. The room (double queen with ocean view) had very comfortable beds and a beautiful bathroom. Hotel had much historical charm, shops cafe restaurant and front desk staff and valet very friendly and helpful.

We experienced a lot of noise both nights we were there. The room above us had what we only guessed were children running back and forth at 11:30 at night (we were on the 3rd floor) coupled with a loud party in the courtyard below. I am pretty tolerant and understanding of hotel noise but this was over the top. I would say the rooms aren’t very soundproof due to its age most likely. The rooms were lacking outlets for devices especially near the beds. I felt our room was somewhat overpriced I’ve stayed in more upscale hotels for less but because of its location they can justify the cost. Based on the room itself I don’t see the value comparatively speaking.

My room was the size of a postage stamp. I requested an Oceanview but they gave that to someone else in my party. The floors were also a little unlevel. We valied our car and received no help with luggage until we asked for it. Also no assistance with bringing luggage to our room. We managed but were a group of 5 76 year old women. We also originally had a Handicap wheelchair dependent friend that would have had a very difficult time staying at this Hotel. She did not come.

Amazing place, great history, we took historic tour. Very clean, staff are so friendly and helpful!! Clean room in the morning and evening, prepare bed for night! I never saw it before!! Beautiful beach with path that you can walk. Food is so great, a lot of choices, tasty! We had 2 beds with very good mattress, unbelievable facial, I still feel good on face skin, clean spa with relaxing room with hot tea. All money we spent worth every penny, I want to come again!!

I like everything!! Only would be great to have tea pot in room.

They were doing some construction maintenance above our room 1 day. They were sanding & hammering the floor, we assumed because of sanding machine noice. It started "9am" & was off & on all day. I mentioned to front desk apon checking out and they were apologetic & reimbursed us the Resort Fee. We were happy about that!. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary & wanted it to be perfect. The staff left champagne & strawberries in our room when we checked in , which was extremely nice. Overall nice stay , except for noise above us 1 day.

We loved the location of the hotel. We attended the Audubon Fall Bird Festival. The hotel was located close enough for us to walk to many indoor events. It was an easy drive to the scheduled outdoor events. We enjoyed walking along the beach and shopping at the outdoor mall which was right outside the hotel's doors. Loved relaxing outdoors in your rocking chairs after birding. Also loved the quirkyness of this old but beautifully maintained hotel. We will be back.

We had trouble walking at first on the uneven floors in our room. the striped carpet made it especially difficult to walk comfortably.

Room was nice, breakfast was good, as well as drinks in the brown room. Enjoyed the pool and the lunch/drink menu .Enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking at the ocean. Grounds were spotless. Wish the adult pool was larger.

disappointed there was no magnifying mirror in the bathroom, as I remember them from the past.I had to fight with the lock to open the door each time we arrived. My daughter and my lunch was forgotten while we sat in the garden area. Finally, I was able to flag the waitress down, she apologized and said the "ticket" was lost. we waited another 20 mins to finally get our lunch. We checked out at 10am and wanted to go to the beach, I had to remove my car from valet parking with no where to park. Was told that I could park in a back lot but upon arrival it was full. Beach service was undesirable, never bought us a menu or looked in my direction after nicely tipping him for the set up. We finally left to get some lunch.

Room was clean and comfortable; enjoyed the outside porches/bar and the Blue Pig Tavern. Great location to shopping , dining and the ocean. Took the Congress Hall historical tour which was fascinating.

First day arrival seemed difficult due to parade on Washington Mall; management should warn guests . We called and decided to have lunch at beach Plum farms before checking in and that was fine

The property is so beautiful and it's clearly very well maintained. Staff clearly care about this historic place. Staff was very friendly. Special shout out to parking valets and Blue Pig server, and cafe staff who we interacted with and were so kind. Blue Pig food was delicious, all of us loved our meals and thus returned again for breakfast the next day. It was chilly during our stay we just loved that a staff member kept the fireplace going with wood which was a special touch for our leisurely breakfast. Our room in south wing was more spacious than we expected and we loved the decor. We did not have a view in our room but loved sitting for a bit in the alcove between the 2nd and 3rd floor on the nice sofas with the gorgeous view of the gardens and ocean beyond.

We had tried to check out one hour later but front desk said we could not because of so many guests arriving.

Very clean, beautiful quaint setting

The only thing that I could find fault with was there was no kiddie pool and next time I would request a room that wasn’t above the boiler lounge where they played music till midnight. Other than that I had a very enjoyable stay the staff was excellent. The place is immaculate housekeeping was phenomenal. Food was great. Definitely will go back.

The property reached out several times before and during our stay to ask if they could answer questions or do anything to make our stay more comfortable. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and on Christmas morning, we opened our door to find a Santa stocking with treats inside. The restaurants were good, there was a nice coffee shop and a cozy bar. The room was nice, relaxing, clean, great bed with comfy bedding, roomy bathroom and nice toiletries. I feel like they thought of everything.

There wasn't really anything to dislike, except the fact that it's pricey, but you get what you pay for.
