Staff were all really friendly, and service was great throughout. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in and the sheets were so soft. Helped by the amazing blackout curtains that kept the room lovely and dark, one of the best sleeps I've had in a very long time! Lovely and quiet as well.

We loved how dog friendly the property is and the beautiful walks direct from the doorstep. The staff we came across were all exceptional in the hotel with special mention to the staff in the restaurant at breakfast time both mornings.
We could only dine in the brasserie as the main restaurant is not dog friendly for dinner and we were a little underwhelmed by the food. The pie was actually a dish of chicken in sauce with puff pastry attached to the dish and our friends who visited for the evening had a very chewy lemon meringue for dessert. My husband did try to order the smoked haddock dish but was informed this would be with fresh haddock as they had run out of smoked (not quite the same thing!)

We had a tremendous welcome and all the staff were amazing throughout. Super friendly and helpful. This is the most dog-friendly place that we have stayed at. More than just accepting dogs, everyone welcomed them
The food was generally average although the services great. The dinner in the brasserie was ok but expensive for what we had, especially the wine and the beer Breakfast was generally poorer than expected with portions missing until we requested them, the pastries were burnt and the sausages were leathery. We think that they had been cooked and prepared a few hours earlier and kept under heat until they were served to us. We asked them to be replaced and they were a bit later

This is a comfortable hotel in a location with much to see and do. We ate in the Brasserie on two nights and the service and food were very good in an informal atmosphere. The hotel has a small spa which is situated in a building across the road from the hotel and the pool and other facilities - adults only - were relaxing. There is extensive parking for the hotel. The breakfast in the conservatory was waiter service and very good although the service was a bit slow. Generally, we much enjoyed our stay which was our first visit for several years and we plan to return.

The porter came out to help us with luggage, before we got the door and took them to our room while we checked in at reception. The receptionist showed us around the sitting areas, cocktail bar and breakfast room en route to our room, which was warm and comfortable with cosy dressing gowns for our use, tea and coffee facilities were welcome. Evening dinner was delicious. It was good to relax beside an open fire before retiring to bed. The choice of breakfast was good, although I could taste the vinegar on the poached eggs on the full Yorkshire breakfast it wasn't so strong to make it unpalatable. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the eggs benedict for his choice which of course the sauce added to its taste.
A minor complaint, we were offered tea or coffee at breakfast, I ordered a coffee. It wasn't until a woman, on a table near us, ordered a latte, did I think I would have preferred a latte had it been offered. The toast was very hard.

The check in was smooth and the receptionist gave us a tour of the hotel, possibly because there was no-one else waiting. The room was clean and warm with an extremely comfortable bed. I also liked the large oil painting of Wharfedale on the bedroom wall. Breakfast was table service and the food was excellent. We also dined in the Brasserie one evening, where we thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. The spa was an enjoyable experience. We didn't book any treatments, so I can' comment on those. Another pleasure was sitting in the lounge in front of the log fire, looking out at the snow. Last but certainly not least, every member of staff that we had contact with was pleasant, informative and helpful.
I'm struggling to think of anything.

Beautiful location, the property is just stunning. Food was good in the Brasserie and staff really helpful and accommodating. Amazingingly comfortable bed and slept like a dream, so peaceful and quiet, waking to beautiful views.
Our room and bathroom was slightly tired and could do with a lick of paint but would not put us off returning. Breakfast on our first morning was not to the standard I would expect from such an establishment, had to ask for our toast numerous times, but the second morning was much better, so maybe just a bad day!.

Every member of staff we came across was polite, friendly and very helpful. They were also efficient and quick to respond. At first I was disappointed by the look of the hotel, but once inside everything is perfect, from the china crockery to the wonderful mattresses. We enjoyed fine weather and to sit in their extensive gardens enjoying a vodka-and-tonic (or two even) was very, very relaxing. I never had to wait at the bar because whatever ordered was brought to your table. Truly well organised and delivered. Surrounding countryside is magnificent which adds cream to the cake.
Everything was good. I could carp on about the brasserie dinner menu being somewhat limited, but it certainly served its purpose for us.

We've already highly recommended the hotel to our friends and family. It was such a wonderful treat to be able to stay here for our wedding weekend - everyone was so kind and welcoming (which we haven't often found in 4/5* hotels), and the complimentary upgrade was lovely! The breakfast served to the room was a lovely treat.
Breakfast portion sizes were tiny, and not all requests were met. We would've asked liked to know that the service charge applies to this and drinks in the bar, rather than just the restaurant service - it was certainly a surprise extra charge at check out.
