These rooms are super cute and comfortable and the property is amazing! The hosts were SO lovely and had amazing tips, and even shovels on hand for a trip to hot water beach (saving you a shovel for hire cost!) The rooms were clean and the property had a pristine pool, hot tub, and water access on the back complete with kayaks free for guests to use. They even had free laundry on site which was a nice bonus, and a small kitchen in the unit. It’s close and walkable to town and restaurants- really loved this stay and would highly recommend!

Nothing - it was lovely!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Oceans 88. The location is great for walking over to the downtown area for shopping and restaurants. Our host was great, providing information about the area and making recommendations of where to eat. The little touches of a variety of coffees, teas, and milk was great (plus hot chocolate and candies). The pool and lake area were very nice and relaxing (towels were provided for use at the pool). The hosts also provided shovels for us to use at Hot Water Beach and advice about visiting it. We did not use it, but they have complimentary washer and dryer facilities available.

We could never get the television to connect/work properly. It would have been nice to unwind with a movie at the end of our busy days.

Everything was great! From location to facilities, to friendly staff, absolutely faultless! Even though it was a cold & rainy weekend, we could still sit in the hot tub & make use of the undercover area. Our room was clean, tidy & had everything we needed (& some)! We were able to walk into town for dinner & drinks with ease & were also super close to the big supermarkets. The staff were super friendly & there to greet us & show us around on check-in. The view was spectacular... We can't wait to go back to make use of the kayaks & maybe have a cast or 2!

Great place, ocean literally out the back gate, but you don’t need it with the great pool/spa area. Rooms are big with excellent kitchenette and the most comfortable beds ever. Host Ken was a very friendly guy who went out of his way to explain options for day trips, restaurants etc and everything he recommended was spot on.

The location of the property was perfect for walking into Whitianga. Parking outside the unit was super convenient. Check-in instructions were clear. The room was well-appointed and the bed was comfortable. Having a full kitchen was a bonus, as well as a washing machine close by. The pool area is lovely.

Nothing not to like!

Ken and Del, the managers, were so welcoming and attentive, quick to supply recommendations. They keep the place in pristine condition. There's easy access to the laundry, the pool/hot tub and outdoor seating. Plus, it's a short walk to the shops and restaurants (and the ferry) via the marina or through the town.

Host were amazing. The property was clean and tidy. We really enjoyed our stay. Room has everything you need during your leisure stay. Everything is so close to the hotel. I really loved hot pool spa. Oven in the room was literally our life saver. We made pizzas and they were yummy. I will definitely recommend this property being a hotelier.

Very nice place with pool and whirlpool, you can take the kayaks to explore the bay. It’s super closed to the harbour and we enjoyed the views from the pool area, where you have tables and sunbeds and a cosy lounge area. Everything was clean and neat. Ken (the host) was very friendly. He gave us some advices where to go and he even brought our forgotten stuff to the post office, so we got everything back! We really appreciate that :)

Beautiful pool area right next to the estuary which is so peaceful. They have kayaks that you can use for free whenever you like. The rooms are big & comfortable with all you need for your stay. Good location - easy to walk into town or less than 5 mins drive. The hosts Ken & Del were very friendly & helpful.

The back doors have no blinds which caused light to enter the room. You could hear noise from other rooms adjacent.

Pool area exceptional and housekeeping everyday. Place was spotless and the location is a lovely 10 minute walk to the Wharf. Private jetty to the water was an added bonus Can't rate high enough - hosts could not do enough for us.
