Really comfy, personal friendly, really quiet we enjoyed a lot. The breakfast was really amazing

This is a magnificent inn in a very pleasant setting. I had an unbelievable friendly welcome and was taken up to my room with explanations about emergency evacuation given on the way. The room was warm and extremely comfortable with everything you could want and more. There were excellent ales in the bar and a superb menu - I enjoyed a splendid dinner! In the morning I opted for the full English breakfast and this was without a doubt one of the largest breakfasts I have ever eaten! It kept me going for the whole day! I really enjoyed my stay here and am in no doubt that I shall be using this inn regularly in the future.

The Stork was in a very convenient place for our visit to the area. The Inn was clean and the staff friendly and efficient. Food was acceptable.

Our room was sparsely furnished. As we were away for more that an week and had walking gear, in addition to normal clothes, storage was, frankly, inadequate. There was only a clothes rail, with very limited accommodation for jumpers etc. The room lacked was a chest of drawers, which would have made a big difference. Also, although the room was quite spacious, there was only one chair - and that was a dining-type one. One, or even two "easier" chairs would have been very welcome.

The Stork was AMAZING! We booked 2 rooms and they were exactly as they look in the pictures. I should also add that the rooms were really clean and the beds/bedding was top notch. The customer service was great and the breakfast was fantastic! We would never stop anywhere else now when we travel to scotland! Amazing stay - highly recommended and we will definitely be back!!!

Dogs are VERY welcome and there is a little bed set up in the room and food if you need it. However, it would have been good to be aware there is a £20 charge for pets :)

We booked an extra night away to tag on to a family break so we booked for convenience of location. We were so pleased with our choice though because this place is a hidden gem! Family and dog friendly and a really chic but rustic setting. Rooms are lovely with all the facilities you’d need for a short break. Drink selection in the bar was very good and the food was excellent. Gastro pub at its best and would have to say, the best steak I’ve ever tasted!! The staff were really helpful and chatty, just nice, down to earth people. Would definitely recommend and will be back.

Nicely presented newly renovated hotel and pub with a great atmosphere and very comfortable rooms. Nice sized bed and lovely bathroom fittings made for a very restful stay. The pub has a really good atmosphere with locals coming in for drinks and eating mixed with those staying. Particualrly liked the detail of providing traditional board games such as dominos. Good selectiomf local real ales very well kept and served. Great location and some good walks directly from the front door. All in all would very happily stay here again

Not really a big issue but although the food was nice enough it was a bit ' pub chain food' formulaic and given its location and style of place it's a pity they don't / didnt seem to make more use of local produce/ seafood etc. Still a great place to stay all the same!

Family room very comfortable and spacious for 2 people. Double rooms a little on the small side but we’ll-furnished and provisioned. Really excellent showers! Good selection of food and drinks, though food very pub grub oriented. Friendly staff Great location for bird watching

Traffic noise at night. Although on a minor road there is lots of heavy traffic most of the night. We could’ve done with some instructions for the very hi-tech looking fan and then maybe closing the windows would’ve helped. Although we have enjoyed several stays here it did make me wonder if Summer wasn’t the best time to stay.

Small, but lovely clean room. The bar/restaurant are so nice, the staff even nicer. We ate there, the food was reasonably priced and very nice; my only criticism is I had the steak and venison pie, which was great, but the pastry was a tad too thick for my liking. There's very little nearby, but there is a nice little walk and there's a lovely little beer garden. Highly recommend.

Although there was a great Dyson fan in the room, the rooms and hallways are very warm. The doors in the hallway are solid doors and when being used you can hear them in your room.

Location was perfect for what I wanted. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the room was a nice size, tea and coffee making facilities with a nice choice of biscuits (always important!) with comfortable bed and spotless bathroom. Breakfast is very good and the food in general is of really good standard. There is a local bus service and taxis were easily ordered by just asking the staff to arrange. Centre of Lancaster is perhaps a 10-15 minute drive away and the Universities the same.

We were really impressed by the Stork. It was cosy, clean and freshly decorated (in our room, the corridors are clearly undergoing renovation) and the shower was super powerful. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was great and nicely presented, and we loved how we could nip down to dinner in the evening and back up to bed. Couldn't have asked for more really! I'd recommend!

The one minor improvement I would suggest is that on arrival you are asked to sign a form without any explanation that asks quite strange questions e.g. "what is your nationality", "Do you agree to be responsible for your own safety" and "are you happy with the evacuation procedures" (or to that effect) without being shown any paperwork on such procedures. I was asked to just sign yes to this question and presumably it is because the hotel is not staffed overnight. I don't think you can really ask people to sign things without giving them the information they need, especially when it comes to personal safety. Also, we did think that table service could be a bit quicker at dinner time, the staff were really friendly but not the quickest at taking orders and bringing drinks etc.
