Was a bit concerned about staying here as we were using public transport but I shouldn't have worried. The hotel advised taking a taxi but as there were 6 of us and luggage, that was not feasible. We arrived at Gotemba Station and went to the nearby Information Bureau, where we bought two-day Hakone freepasses for that day and the next (we would be visiting Hakone the next day). There was a free shuttle from stand 4 which took us to Chichibunomiya Memorial Park, a few steps from the hotel. We dropped off the luggage before check-in, and then used the freepass to hop the bus to the Gotemba Outlets that afternoon - much shopping was done, late lunch and a wonderful view of Mt Fuji. Then used the pass to get back to the hotel. The first thing we did after collecting our luggage and going to the rooms was to go to the roof for the footbath - bliss! Two of our party then went for the onsen - the others were a bit shy to get naked but the baths are gender segregated and honestly no one cares what you look like, just make sure you follow the instructions for taking a public bath. Each room has a bag with your individual towels, either to use in your room or to take to the onsen. You are given a code to enter the onsen,- the anteroom to the baths has lockers for your clothes, shoes etc and dressing tables with facial products, hair ties, hairdyers and weight scales. The onsen was the highlight of my stay, Not only warm inside bath, but warm outdoor bath, cool bath and sauna. Afterwards there are free ice creams/ice blocks to consume in the afternoon/evening or probiotic drinks/yakult in the morning. There are free drinks in the lounge/restaurant area in the afternoon and then free ramen at night from 9.30pm. The view of Mt Fuji from the rooftop in the morning as the first sunrays hit was beautiful. There is a pancake cafe a few doors down to the right, and a convenience store/gas station a little further along.

No mention of the 150 yen per person onsen cost (even if you use it or not) but it was such a small amount and I really appreciated this whole experience.

Love the onsite onsen & nightly free soba noodle thereafter, free drinks, ice creams!

It would be most ideal if it provide shuttle service to Gotemba station.

The location is a bit out of the way if you are not driving. However, it's convenient if you drive. It's only a few minutes drive from Gotemba Outlet. There are plenty of parking lots. The facilities are excellent for the price that we paid. Even though there isn't much around the hotel, there are enough things in the hotel to keep us occupied. We could enjoy the onsen, the footbath on the roof top and there is even a reading room outside the onsen with a huge collection of anime. The best part was the free raman supper and the ice cream. There are also washing machines and dryer. Washing machines are free and dryer is charged at very reasonable price.

The onsite Hot Spring Onsen, the late night free Ramen, the provided PJ and other misc. personal items such as hair brush, tooth brush, etc. The rooftop deck area with the foot bar is special. The hotel is clean and comfortable.

Staff and hotel location. 1) Staff - They were polite but could not speak English, almost none. They were not able to introduce the amenities offered by the hotel, and to help guests to places (they showed me the wrong bus stop). On trip to Yumoto station, after much time waiting at the wrong bus station, I ended up relying on the strangers from the street, and the close by police station for direction. 2) Location - It is closed to bus stops of different bus lines? but it is not walkable to other local restaurants and shops. I did not venture out by walking or biking during my 2-day stay.

The hotel had everything you would need, very practical with free washing machines, noodles from 9pm, free coffee, ice creams etc. prior to staying here we stayed at 4*+ accommodation and I found this hotel easier and met our needs better with all the additional free items which helped with busy days hiking mountains and visiting shrines etc.

I think the bathrooms looked very basic but they had everything you needed. So to be honest this is hardly a negative so I can really complain. Very practical and good value for money

We stayed in the Family room, this is small approx 30m room with its own parking area, seperate living space, kitchen and 4 bunk bends. Bonus outdoor play area with pine bath. there was also a seperate shower and washer/dryer. this was a great room for family, althrough all beds were single bunks. the kids had a fantastic time creating cubbies with their bunk beds, whilst the parents relaxed in the outdoor pine bath or living area. the washer dryer was efficient and quiet, (we used it overnight) the seperate parking and outdoor area was very secluded, to use the pine bath nude, you are requried to draw the outdoor shades down. the breakfast had great choices. there was onsen on ground floor. great amentities, including free ice cream, drinks and a late night noodle bar, all complementary. very close to the Gotemba Outlet Mall. there is also a spectacular forest/shrine adjacent to the hotel. roof top footbath with great Fujisama views.

Nothing, i would stay here again

I loved this hotel. The dormy inn brand doesn't fail to deliver. The rooms were small but sufficient. 4A2C for a twin rooms was good. We enjoyed the bath house and onsen. Footbath with a. View of Fuji was great. Laundry mat was free as well. Staffs were helpful despite they speak mostly japanese but google translator was there to help. They offer bag transfer to my hotel and they helped me to fill up with much thanks.

Nothing. Great hotel to stay. Yes room was abit small for some but it was sufficient. If you don't drive this hotel will be abit far. We drove so it was fine and there was ample parking.

Beautiful location in the woods, outside of the central city area. The hotel staff is exceptional, friendly, very responsive to requests such as holding our luggage and taxi. The onsen bath was wonderful after a long day of walking and sightseeing. We especially enjoyed the complimentary beverages, coffee, tea, soft drinks, morning yogurt drinks, and evening popsicles and noodles. Last, the foot bath with a view of Mt. Fuji was amazing!

There was no shuttle to the train station and the public bus in front of the hotel did not run too often. We walked and used used a taxi thru out our stay.

The hotel is new and modern, very clean. Lots of facilities. Love the foot bath at the roof top, it faces Mount Fuji. I took lots of great photo up there I also enjoyed the onsen everyday during my stay. I requested our rooms ( we have 3 rooms) to be closer, the staff put us side by side.

The hotel is new and very clean! We love the breakfast, onsen, popsicles, yakult drinks and ramen! The staff are very polite and helpful too. Their service is always very fast when we called to get something delivered to our room. We have stayed in otaru dormy inn before and gotemba’s dormy inn is way above our previous experience!

The hotel is tucked away in a quiet place and it takes about 10min walk away to the nearest family mart. Unless you drive, do try to get your necessities for the evening or next day before you returned back to hotel.
