The staff, particularly Carmen, Maria, my neccessary handicapped assistants, the restaurant staff, and Adriana and Szabo in the spa were excellent, friendly and extremely accommodating.

Sadly, I picked the hotel because I could continue my aquatic therapy in the pool. I was also told there would be an elevator to my room. Instead, I had to ask for help to navigate stairs every time I wanted to leave my room. It was impossible to use the pool because there were no safety measures there. The spa area was exceedingly hot at all times and really doesn't live up to the quality of the rest of this five star hotel. Mainly, it should not be allowed to call itself "handicapped-accessible", even if they are willing to send lovely people to help one climb stairs. It is definitely not a place that can be used independently by persons with mobility issues, which is very infantilizing.

We had booked a classical room but were upgraded to a two-level rather big room. This hotel is a proper five-star hotel. Everything is up to the standard you expect at five stars. The location is perfect. The valet parking works fine. They serve you a nice welcome drink at breakfast, which is very good. We ordered breakfast in the room the first morning and loved it.

We were invited to something they called Fish Bar. That was not worth the money. We had a few little teasers and one drink and paid too much for it at the rooftop bar, which was also rather uncharming.

The Ortigia palace Hotel is outstanding. My wife and I stayed in a suite that was very spacious, had to levels, views were amazing (had windowns to two different sites of the island. The suite was incredible, with classy decoration. Hotel staff were very nice, cordial, helpful. Parking was very convenient (unusual for an European hotel). We cannot say enough good things of this hotel and its staff.

We should have stayed one more night.

Everything! The staff was unbelievable, always there to assist as needed! Silvia, Johnnie, all the staff were amazing! Very clean, quiet rooms; breakfast was great, and the building (an old post office) itself is beautiful! Our next stay in Ortigia will include staying at the Ortega Palace Hotel!

Very hard to find something we were not happy with, but if there was one small thing it would be that we could not seem to get our room cold enough. It was very hot in Ortigia in August and while our room was cool, it was never cold enough for us, no matter how low we set the AC.

A well appointed property tastefully converted from an old post office building. Interior atrium was wonder for drinks from the lobby bar and breakfast. The breakfast was well done. Staff was awesome. Location is wonderful. We did not eat onsite so cannot comment on the restaurants in the hotel. A little pricey but worth it in our opinion.

The interior facing standard room we had was a bit small but very comfortable and did the job. Otherwise nothing negative to say.

After being well over Sicily ( Palermo -Mondelo, Scopelo, Cefalu) , Trapani ( and surroundings) , Agrigento ( and surroundings), Taormina-Naxos, Siracuse is first on our list . Not to be missed. Then you might choose this place to stay. Why? The hotel is very well located in Ortigia where everything happens.The staff is very professional yet delicate. Perfection. We were upgraded at arrival without asking for. How about that for a welcome reception. Room was quite large , had a great view of the harbor, was very clean and had all the conveniences one might expect from this type of property . Breakfast is so complete that takes time to decide on what to eat each day . A great hotel overall .

1. Sometimes there is no easy parking; . In an unfortunate day on my arrival I was not able to find a paying parking spot for over 20 minutes . The charge is 15 euros for 24 hs ( hotel charges 40 euros and parking is about 1 mile away) . 2. Shower area is very small compared to bathroom size (which even includes a separate bathtub) . 3. I was not aware of them not having an open swimming pool. A major drawback. 4. The breakfast is in an area where you come in and out of the elevators - not ideal , but after giving a little thought I does not seem to exist a better area due to the architectural design of the place

Beautiful clean and perfect location !! Fabulous staff—with Nicoletta, Conchetta and Anna at the front desk to help with reservations & sight seeing planning, Serena at breakfast each morning and Paola at the rooftop restaurant with an amazing guitarist serenading us!! Every staff person many whose names I do not know, was amazingly helpful and warm and friendly. They surprised us with an upgraded room with sea view and balcony, a bottle of sparkling wine and a birthday cake as they knew we were celebrating my 60th birthday. Nicoletta’s recommendations for restaurants and local beach was great! And Conchetta’s idea to do a private boat to the nearby sea caves was perfect! We will definitely be back to this hotel again if we return to Sicily!!

The location is superb, the staff friendly, helpful and knowledgeable while the hotel itself sensational and the restaurant manages to stand out even in the culinary stronghold that is ortigia. I strongly recommend this hotel as a perfect base in Syracuse. It is heads and shoulders above the many city hotels I have stayed at, not just in Syracuse but in Sicily in general.

One of the nicest hotels we’ve been to. Location great; Hotel beautiful; Staff excellent: ALL the front desk people were among the best I’ve encountered. Arianna was especially nice at breakfast. Housekeeping terrific.

No shower. I didn’t enjoy showering in the tub on my knees without a shower curtain.

The hotel is magnificent. The position is right on the small harbour at the edge of the old city. The spa facilities are very impressive especially the pool. The old city itself is well worth strolling around and the cathedral is well worth a visit. The old columns from the 5th century Temple of Apollo have been incorporated into the Christian church! The room was small but adequate. The bar on the 3rd floor has amazing views and is well worth a visit however when we stayed it was only open on a Wednesday. I do not know if they make more of it in the summer months. The restaurant food in the evening was definitely fine dining.

Breakfast options were limited when compared to a UK restaurant of similar standard.
