This masseria is impressive. The arrival experience is fabulous. Pasquale welcomed us explaining us all the history of the property and did everything he could to make us feel at home, like, for example, living in our fridge some fresh milk for our daughter coming from the 300 cows leaving in the stable above the masseria. The room was impressive, super comfortable and quiet and warm, even considering 5 degrees outside. Breakfast was a great experience. The dining room is very big and elegant, all the products are fresh and homemade, with both savoury and sweet choices. We could pack all the left over with us too (we had lunch with those!). All the staff are super friendly. The location is 12-15 mins drive to the Sassi, definitely a better choice staying there with a family with small children and drive to the Sassi in the morning. We have also had a tour to the stable and saw a baby cow 5 days old! Our daughters were so excited and we learned so much about how the cows grow and the milk is produced. Overall, a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

The staff was truly welcoming, the room was large, fresh, very comfortable and clean. Everything in the room looked brand new, from bed linen to some fantastic cotton gauze towels. A well advised list of restaurants to dine in Matera was provided to us at check-in and a generous breakfast featuring some typical produces cooked/handcrafted on site in the owners' farm was served in the morning. Btw, the whole facility is located on top of a hill, about 8min away from Matera down town, in a strategic site to easily access a legendary viewpoint on the Sassi at sunset (postcard pic!!), or to visit some well-known rock sanctuaries at the closeby cultural park with local guides (https://www.ceamatera.it/promozioni/prenotazioni/). A memorable stay for us, and hosting facility that I would definitely recommend.

Masseria Torre Spagnola is located within a castle and is adjoined by a large family-run farm. Beatrice is a proud, vivacious and very efficient hostess and member of the family. We honestly felt like we were being entertained by royalty. The property is located within easy driving distance to the spectacular city of Matera. Our room was designed and furnished to perfection, and it was impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing and included freshly-baked sweet and savoury treats; eggs were also individually cooked when requested. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we were sad that we could not stay longer. We would highly recommend Masseria Torre Spagnola as a wonderful place to stay.

Everything - probably one of the best properties I have ever stayed at. The location is pretty, the suite was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was rich, locally produced and served in a mouthwatering fashion. The owners are super nice, helped with everything proactively. Definitely recommend it!

The rooms open to the inner courtyard which doesn’t have much vegetation. We stayed there in March, so the weather was perfect, but I can imagine the heat must be a bit too much in the middle of the summer. Rooms are air-conditioned nonetheless.

Only thing that could be viewed as negative is the sometimes smell from the one property cows. Didn’t bother me or my husband,,, but it might affect someone who doesn’t know it’s a dairy farm. Be so much nicer when there’s a pool (being installed)

Everything! The external appearance of the property on arrival is impressive and imposing, sitting on a hill, amongst the relatively flat surrounding countryside. The property has been renovated to an extremely high standard, keeping all the old character and adding an intelligent mix of modern style. Our host was amazing - so welcoming and helpful, and rightly proud of their great achievement. The rooms are spacious, extremely clean and very beautiful, with original vaulted ceiling. the large terrace is a great place to relax and enjoy the views and sunset. Last, but certainly not least, was the amazing breakfast! Already laid out on our table when we arrived - home-made cakes, ricotta, jams, plus many other delights. In addition, you can choose eggs cooked as you like them, yogurts, granola, etc etc... We took a doggy bag with us, which more than sufficed for lunch.... Only a 10 minute drive from Matera, this accommodation is a much more comfortable and spacious choice, rather than dragging suitcases up and down the beautiful nearby town....

In the farming countryside a few kms out of Matera, and oasis from the cities. Beautiful setting. Family business. Beatric e is a fantastic fronting as host. Historic buildings., gorgeous. You need a car or taxi (or bicycle) to get there. IT was tops. We booked only one night then asked for another instead of our prior plans to move on.

The host was extremely friendly providing a lot of extremely useful information about sites to visit and parking in Matera and recommending restaurants, also providing us with a map. The accommodation itself is very beautiful and unusual and everything is provided for your comfort such as complimentary water and coffee. The breakfast was incredible- each table had the most amazing spread of locally made and sourced food. The host certainly made us feel very special. The location of the property is also very convenient being extremely quiet but also close to the centre of Matera.

Epic breakfast with many delicious dairy, bread, cake etc items made on site from Ingredients from the owners farm. Historic location with great views across surrounding countryside.

Nothing to fault here

The place is absolutely fabulous, a farm looking like a medieval castle amongst the picturesque valleys of Materra. Spotlessly clean, modern renovated rooms, very well equiped. Gorgeous stylish breakfast with home made cakes, jams, juices. Capuccino with fresh milk from the farm, and all other kinds of brekfast types according to the wish of the gest. The family owners and especially Beatrice who welcomed us are very warm, friendly, informarive and cooperative. Another advantage, Beatrice and her husband speak perfect english. It is a fairy tale place for sure.
