We just returned from a wonderful long weekend in Gothenburg, made truly special by our stay at the Home Hotel Odin. From the moment we arrived, we felt less like tourists and more like welcomed guests. The Location: Perfect is an understatement. The hotel is nestled on a quiet, charming street, yet it's only a 5-minute walk from the bustling Avenyn and about 10-15 minutes on foot to the central station. We were able to walk everywhere—to the Haga district for cinnamon buns, to the museums, and to the picturesque canals. It offered the best of both worlds: peaceful sleep and easy access to everything. The Room: The room was spotlessly clean and the soundproofing was excellent; we never heard any noise from the hallway or other rooms. The Staff: The staff at Home Hotel Odin are its greatest asset. Every single person we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely eager to help. They gave us a fantastic recommendation for a traditional Swedish restaurant (which was a highlight of our trip) and were always happy to provide a map or directions. The Verdict: Home Hotel Odin completely lives up to its name. It’s not a large, impersonal chain hotel; it’s a stylish, intimate, and thoughtfully curated space that makes you feel at home. It offers incredible value for the quality and location. We would not hesitate to stay here again on our next trip to Gothenburg and will be recommending it to all our friends.

Nothing I didn’t like — a perfect hotel if you can afford it. My only suggestion: offer a non-pork protein option when pork is the main entrée. Not everyone eats pork, whether for personal or religious reasons. It’s about guest satisfaction, not cook’s or administrators preference or city culture! People should be able to enjoy their stay—without it coming at the expense of others doing the same. Everyone deserves fair treatment and value for their money.

Great location, immediately next to the central station, easy to reach. A grocery store (COOP) stands right nextdoor for any last minute shopping. And don't forget that both breakfast and dinner are served... I'm not a picky eater so cannot really comment on the food, but it did make me feel home, a cozy place where you can come back with the prepared meal waiting for you. For me, this is a real "perfection".

The light in the room: the main lamp is far from the chairs at the window... Although I know this is very, very fastidious of me...

The location was perfect, very close to the train station. The breakfast and dinner were amazing. You can also enjoy free coffee throughout the day. The staff was very professional. Our room was clean and cosy. The bed was large and very comfortable. There is no window facing outside of the building, only a window that faces the main hall of the hotel. It was okay, though. Not loud at all.

We attempted to use the sauna. It's only available at certain time slots which unfortunately didn't work for us. You can, however, use the fitness centre at any time.

Breakfast and dinner were really good. The room was clean. We only had direct contact with one person from the staff, at the reception, but it went smoothly, and the person was nice and helpful. The location is great, close to the central station. There is street parking in front of the hotel, which is convenient for unloading the luggage when arriving. There is also a garage below the building where you can park on a mor elong-term basis (not free; you can book online or at arrival).

The room we got was facing the inner part of the building and we saw the reception and common area from our window. Not the best view but at least the room was good and we didn't hear any more noise than normal. The hotel is located in an area where using dubbdäck is forbidden. I considered staying at the hotel again when visiting the city this winter, but this can be very inconvenient.

It was so convenient to everything in DT Gothenburg The rooms were just what we needed however we would have liked items in our kitchen so we could prepare our own snacks and meals but we had nothing. No pots or pans or dishes so having a kitchen was a waste

No utensils or kitchen ware in the kitchen so we could not make any food while we were there for late night snacks Also asked for our room to be clean in day 6 (half way) and the microwave was left with crumbs that had been there when we got there, the garbage in the bathroom was not cleaned out and cleaning cloths were left on the table and the coffee table and dirty dishes still left in the room Also the repairs to the outside of the building made the workers leave bright white rope lighting on all hours of the day. It made it difficult even with the blinds closed to get a full night sleep

This was our first visit to a Clarion in Sweden and we felt like we hit the jackpot. For families that are traveling with kids and want to have easy access to food, even with dietary restrictions, Clarion is the way to go. They have breakfast and dinner included and accommodated our gluten free needs. The location was great and close to the train station. This hotel was large and had a huge area for dining. The gym was in the building and not part of the hotel but you get access to it which is really nice. The room was large and if you stayed for longer, you can rent a set of cookware since the room had a full kitchen and full size fridge.

A lovely hotel that’s in a building that used to be used as student accommodation hence the room was massive and complete with kitchenette (no kitchenware, mind, but could be rented). Home Hotel is a great chain for various reasons, not least the DB&B plus Fika. Hotel is 5mins walk from the train station and a similar distance from the trams. It is also next door to a small supermarket. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent (probably the best we’ve experienced with the chain so far).

The hotel was in a perfect location for the Central train station as we were travelling on to Copenhagen and perfect situation to see the city sights. The breakfast and evening meals were very good. The staff were very helpful and made you feel very welcome. Breakfast and dinner are amazing. There is a wide choice and food is very tasty. Staff is gentle and helpful. Accommodation location is central and it is very convenient to reach the main station.

Rooms are not cleaned everyday meaning that the beds are kept undone during the days. It is mentioned on a paper in the room but I do not see the point not to clean up the room. The hotel is expensive. I recommend it but get ready to spend some money.
