The hotel has a very nice feel, relaxing and welcoming place to stay, and the location is so good for a short stopover, right next to the station and the beautiful park and river so close by. was very touched by the kindness of the staff as I was ill during my stay and they made sure I was taken care of, bringing me drinks and snacks and medicine which was very much appreciated. The room was really comfy and loved the bath (!) and candles and relaxing music at breakfast which was also delicious:) thanks for everything

The hotel’s history is palpable, and its preservation is remarkable. I couldn’t help but marvel at the details: the grand staircase, antique furnishings, and the way each room seemed to tell a story. My room was a perfect blend of vintage charm and modern luxury, with plush bedding, beautifully curated décor, and a view that made the cityscape feel like a living painting. Dining at the restaurant was another highlight. Its old-world ambiance, with touches of Belle Époque inspiration, paired wonderfully with the exceptional menu. Each dish was a culinary delight, crafted with care and served with flair. The prawn menu, in particular, was a standout, leaving me longing to return for just one more bite. On arrival we were upgraded to a suite and had the choice of 3rd or 4th floor, we chose the 4th. The room had a lounge area which walked through to the bed area then a step up into the bathroom with a bath which was welcome after a day walking, it was quite a climb to get into the bath, if you had mobility issues this would be a problem. It was my partners favourite breakfast in our 6 week trip of Scandinavia, it was plentiful and the staff were lovely actually all the staff of the hotel were lovely. We loved the ambiance of the breakfast room and the pancakes were a favourite. The hotel was a minutes walk from the train/bus station and shopping centre and public transport was straight out the door. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay in Gotenborg. This hotel has old world charm.

The hotel is centrally located, so ideal for walking to all tourist attractions, places to see, eat etc. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly, and welcoming. We were given a free upgrade and also a beautiful fruit hamper to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which was unexpected but very much appreciated! The breakfast was outstanding, with a fabulous selection on offer, including gluten free options. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay, and would love to go back!

The noise from the trams is quite loud! However, this is not the hotel's fault. There is double glazing ,but if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room with a courtyard view.

I cannot begin to express how much I enjoyed our stay at Hotel Eggers. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of Gothenburg opposite the central station. The hotel oozes history in its fascinating architecture and interior design - a stay at this hotel is like stepping-back to the opulent hotels of the early 1900's. The customer service provided by the staff is exemplary and the breakfast on offer is outstanding. Our king, balcony room was large, opulently furnished and very comfortable. Our meal at the exquisite hotel restaurant was fabulous!

This is a retro style hotel. Quirky at times e.g. vinyl record player in our room but definitely distinctive. Location near the central station was great, at the heart of the city's excellent tram system and within easy walking distance of the main streets. Room was comfy. Breakfast buffet was excellent. The best thing though was the staff. So helpful, particularly when I hit a wi-fi problem that could not easily be solved. I couldn't have asked for more.

the Wi-Fi in my room (136) was inadequate. I also thought the lighting in the bar area was too dark.

The location was great. The details and care were exceptional. The reception area maintains coffee, tea, water, and fruit. I found this to be a significant detail in terms of feeling welcomed. Staff was friendly and helpful at check in. The breakfast was great and there were so many options for areas to enjoy the meal at the start of the day. Room was wonderful. I faced the street side and found it to be quiet. Bed and linens were wonderful. This hotel was perfect I every way.

The hotel's location is very convenient with access to busses and trains. There are very nice restaurants around and the real bonus for a stay here is the amazing breakfast. The staff are also very kind and helpful.

Just a little effort to get the room infrastructure 21st century ready would be nice, had the haggle a bit to setup the chargers for the devices. Also the boards on the floor could be a bit creaky, but it comes with the charm to be honest.

The hotel history, the location, and the breakfast were amazing, I really loved and enjoyed it. It was a very friendly and popular place, a lot of people were always at the hall, where you can enjoy a coffee. The hotel has an amazing history and it's one the oldest in Sweden. I went to the Opera, the shopping, and the Park, and all were just a few steps. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

I didn't like the room light and the sound of the mini-fridge. But I only stayed one night and I was very tired, undoubtedly the staff would have fixed my problem if I had said something, nothing that you can't fix with a call to reception.
