The hotel has a very nice feel, relaxing and welcoming place to stay, and the location is so good for a short stopover, right next to the station and the beautiful park and river so close by. was very touched by the kindness of the staff as I was ill during my stay and they made sure I was taken care of, bringing me drinks and snacks and medicine which was very much appreciated. The room was really comfy and loved the bath (!) and candles and relaxing music at breakfast which was also delicious:) thanks for everything

Lovely, comfortable historic hotel in the centre of Gothenburg, particularly convenient for the railway station. Great restaurant. I particularly liked the lounge/bar where you could sit and watch the world go by and drink free coffee all day. Lots of original features like the oldest lift (elevator) in Gothenburg.

The room was very hot when I arrived and it was difficult to cool it down. (Air con is not common in Sweden and there had been an unusual heatwave the previous week). The restaurant was closed for lunch over the summer (but there are plenty of other restaurants in the area).

From the moment you enter, you feel like you've been whisked away to a different era. Absolutely stunning. Even if you are staying in another hotel in Gothenburg, Hotel Eggers with its unique architecture, exquisite interior, and original pieces is absolutely worth a visit (just have a coffee there and enjoy). The breakfast selection (and dinner) was absolutely delicious and offered lots of different options. Despite the central location (you can reach pretty much everything by foot), it was always quiet in the hotel (lobby, restaurant) and in the room itself (room was very clean, chic, and spacious). Worth mentioning is also the incredibly welcoming and attentive staff. I enjoyed my stay very much and the only thing I regret is not staying a little longer. TACK, TACK, TACK!

The staff were wonderful, really helpful with giving directions to places of interest, booking taxis etc. The history of the property itself. They have a book which I spent some time translating with Google Lens and found really interesting. This leant to my appreciation of the history of the area in general too. The room - not what you'd call modern, but so charming. The location! We came by train and the hotel is just opposite central station. Great base to start exploring the city from. Comfy bed.

There's no air-conditioning (common in these older buildings), but there are bifold doors and windows out onto the balcony so you can get a breeze. It was noisy, but that's to be expected in an area like this, and we were so tired after travelling and walking all day that it barely bothered us.

The property is beautiful, distinctive, and historic. The staff is friendly and kind and the restaurant is beautiful with delicious food Including an amazing breakfast buffet. It feels like a unique, independently run place where they’re thoughtful and take care of you kindly. The rooms are boldly decorated and full of color, which I love.

It’s right near the train station, which is great and very convenient, and there are also a lot of trams outside, also convenient. But it’s a bit noisy. I always travel with earplugs and noise canceling headphones, so sleep was not a problem.

Step out of the station and you are there! All the staff that help us were amazing; kind, helpful and full of smiles (even though it was 30c, and no AC. The breakfasts were wonderful; great selection of meats and cheeses. The location allows to use the public transport, or walk.

It was hot hot hot! One small table fan in the room was not able to cool us down. However, we were fortunate to visit Gothenburg during a heatwave. Not really anyone's fault, but after an evening power cut the internet did not work for that night and the day after.

This is <100m from the station and the check in staff member offered an upgrade at checkin so I had a room with a bath. Gorgeous old hotel right in city centre. Loved having a bath that night. But the breakfast was the best bit - best breakfast I've had in my Scandi travel (apart from Hotel Kong Arthur in Copenhagen, which is amazing). They had this mushroom omelette I could not stop eating. Normally you grit your teeth at a hotel breakfast buffet but this was awesome.

Nothing really - smallish room but that's how it is in these old hotels. Part of the charm.

On arrival we were upgraded to a suite and had the choice of 3rd or 4th floor, we chose the 4th. The room had a lounge area which walked through to the bed area then a step up into the bathroom with a bath which was welcome after a day walking, it was quite a climb to get into the bath, if you had mobility issues this would be a problem. It was my partners favourite breakfast in our 6 week trip of Scandinavia, it was plentiful and the staff were lovely actually all the staff of the hotel were lovely. We loved the ambiance of the breakfast room and the pancakes were a favourite. The hotel was a minutes walk from the train/bus station and shopping centre and public transport was straight out the door. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay in Gotenborg. This hotel has old world charm.
