I was gobsmacked when I walked through the door it's stunning and had a fantastic warm welcome. I won't want to stay anywhere else now I'm afraid I was spoilt and sampled some great food and drink. It's given me the confidence to do this more often. I cannot wait to stay here again, I don't like busy crowds so I stayed at the perfect time.. To go into my room with classic fm playing was a really good touch thank you x.

Nothing to report the weather was stormy but it made my stay very cosy and comfortable. I'd hate for anyone to show this grand hotel any disrespect.

We’ve been to the grand many times to eat over the years but thought I’d treat the hubby to an executive king room with balcony and Seaview for his birthday. It was beautiful, elegant, clean, super impressed

The only two minors were firstly the shower tray must have been blocked as I was in it for less than a minute when my husband told me the floor was flooded and it had overflowed into the hall. Needless to say neither of us could shower before checking out and there was no apology or anything from receptionist. Secondly, it would be nice if the balcony was a little private from the balconies next door, ie mesh or something on the sides so it feels a little more private

The room was really lovely and spacious. We were upgraded to room #327 can’t recommend it enough. All staff very friendly and helpful

Breakfast was disappointing. Checking staff encouraged us to book breakfast with a £5 per head discount which we did. We didn’t expect it to be buffet service for heroics paid we thought it would be an a la carte menu. Also the room was disappointing with no table cloths and old wood chipped tables on show. Shame because it really let the hotel down. Also, speaking as an interior designer I do hope that room hasn’t recently been remodelled as it doesn’t reflect the rest of the hotel and so many interior design mistakes have been made.

Grand and historic elegance on the edge of the sea. Bottle of wine was a nice touch. Gorgeous bed and lovely staff.

Be sure to ask if your window has a view. Ours was frosted glass that looked out on the garbage alley!

Brighton Grand Hotel was wonderful. Booking.com, however, was WOEFUL... Terrible, terrible customer service. Before the stay, Booking.com offered me an "upgrade" for just £15 - which as it turned out, was actually a DOWNGRADE, from a DOUBLE to a TWIN... Thinking it must have been my initial mistake, I then paid for another UPGRADE, to ensure a double room booking. But when I checked back, it wasn't my mistake. I tried to get an answer before my stay, but was unsuccessful. Since the stay (because I paid for the room I eventually booked) I've been told that everything was correct. NOTE: Changing from a DOUBLE to a TWIN is NOT AN UPGRADE. Edit: After posting this review, I was invited to discuss the problem with the Grand Hotel staff, and was advised to book direct in future. I will - great hotel...

I didn't like Booking.com's appalling, misleading customer service and their arrogant, dismissive insistence that they did nothing wrong.

Great location.

Lobby bar was extremely busy and difficult to get a table. Staff not the friendliest. One lift was broken with a sign on it telling people to use the service lift. We did and got told off by one of the maintenance staff for using service lift!! Staff in lobby bar took ages to take order and when we asked if we could order we got a rude response that they were trying their best but we would have to wait. . Just not really the service you expect in a hotel like this.

Breakfast was great. Offered gluten free bread & cereals so bonus.

Concierge service could see a little improvement. On entering the lobby on foot we questioned the concierge on parking (how to get into Grand car park) and the response was a curt “it’s valet service only for residents of the hotel”, we were residents of the hotel! He then extended his arm towards the door, I got out my key and walked past. I expect the front desk staff to be non judgemental and courteous to all. Only poor experience, everything else was amazing (food particularly) and we will be back.

Staff extra helpful, room nice and clean. Great location. Dog friendly , 30£ per day per dog.

Extremely overpriced for what is offered. Breakfast prices way over the usual plus we were charged additional 10£ fee for 5 year old which is so bizarre for UK standards. Cot wasn’t provided for the type of room we have paid for ( Superior king room) so had take our one plus pay on top even if we said we will have the child sleeping with us. Doesn’t sound right at all. This has to change otherwise it won’t be a place to attract families.

Gorgeous property. Felt very luxurious! Our recently renovated bedroom was phenomenal - the view, the bath overlooking it, the bathroom the furnishings… could absolutely not fault it. What a wonderful weekend away.

I wish the bed had been a little softer - I found the mattress quite hard and it gave me backache!

Very nice hotel on the sea front but on a very busy road day and night so it’s quid loud at 1,2,3am when the clubs are kicking out, our only complaint is dogs! Dogs int he hotel is one thing but big dogs in the restaurant / breakfast room is not acceptable and we’re dog owners
