Fantastic peaceful hotel at the top of Kinosaki. The staff were very helpful and the ryokan was lovely. I was helped on how to wear yukata, use the onsen’s and book a private one at the ryokan. The Japanese bed was very comfortable. The Japanese breakfast was great. I had an explanation of what it was, what it went with and a print out in English of what I had been given. My room was at the back over looking the beautiful hillside gardens, which were lit up in the evening. The ryokan is a 1 minute walk from the top of where the Main Street starts and about 3mins to the closest public onsen. The walk to the last is 20mins. It is about 3mins to the ropeway up the hill to the temple and the path if you want to walk. I really enjoyed my stay.

Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Loved the small hotel (roughly 20 - 30 rooms total) feel and every room was extremely spacious (by Japan's standards). Was surprised that each night we stayed (2 nights), we could sign up for a private couples bath (we thought it was only 1 night for entire stay). They staff cleans your room every day, refreshes your tea/coffee section, and even gives you new water bottles (and little snacks) each day. The waterfall in the lobby area was beautiful and most rooms overlook the zen views. We also paid for the Tajima steak dinner (not included in our stay) and loved it. The restaurant staff was extremely nice. You cook the precut steak on a small skillet, along with your rice, salad, and soup. Had we known that this small hotel was so excellent, we would have stayed longer!

The hotel is a bit of a walk from the "main" area of Kinosaki - roughly a 10 - 15 minute walk. However, you will cross plenty of onsens (all included with stay) and a bunch of small shops selling souvenirs and drinks.

- The staff was very attentive and friendly - The room was beautiful and spacious, the futon was comfortable - The private flower onsen was great. We didn't use the shared onsen - The dinner and breakfast were very filling. We loved the starters, the sashimi platter and Tajima steak - Free bus from the train station to the street where the ryokan is located (not all the way up). Free shuttle from the ryokan's door to the station.

- There is a strong room fragrance used all over the property that gave me a headache during the whole stay - Dinner was quite rushed, they brought the courses very quickly one after the other and we didn't have time to relax and enjoy the meal. Halfway through it, we were already feeling stuffed from eating too fast - Our host at dinner didn't speak any English, so she only quietly showed us her phone screen with short translations that we had to quickly read, it felt quite weird. We don't expect the servers to speak English, but it would have been easier and less awkward to just print out the explanations on paper. There was also a misunderstanding on how to prepare one of the dishes due to the translation being incorrect.

The ryokan was well located at the end of the main street of Kinosaki Onsen near to two of the public hot springs. We took the shuttle bus from the station which made it very straightforward. Staff were incredibly polite and helpful with getting us checked in and to our rooms, and explaining the various bath offerings in the hotel and the town. We were given free passes for the public baths in town which was very kind of them. The room we stayed in was beautiful - we had our own private bathtub which was really relaxing and we had a nice view from there out to the garden and waterfall. The room itself was clean and spacious, and the beds were incredibly comfy. We were also provided kimonos that we could wear in the ryokan and into town which was a nice touch. The food was incredible, we had a full tasting menu for dinner and breakfast and they were able to accomodate both mine and my partner's dietary requirements. Our server Tomoki was excellent and talked us through all the courses and how best to cook some of the dishes ourselves. We even had a good chat about what Kinosaki is like in winter! Overall I'd thoroughly recommend Yuraku, it was the highlight of our trip to Japan by far!

I can't think of anything, the whole experience was excellent from start to finish!

Our stay at the Yuraki Kinosaki Spa & Gardens was excellent! We were warmly greeted by the staff at the front desk, and they were so thorough to explain all the amenities and things the Ryokan had to offer. With our room we had a free private bath and we could choose what was in it. It was so relaxing, I'm so glad we got to experience a private bath. One of the staff members guided us to our room and showed us the space and how to wear a yukata! The room was lovely, we had a gorgeous view of their garden and the sounds of the water were so relaxing. It was such a spacious and relaxing room. All the amenities were great! The traditional breakfast was superb, the chef there explained what everything was and it was so tasty! It's a very unique breakfast and it's definitely something worth experiencing while you're in Japan. It might not be the kind of food everyone loves, but it's part of the beauty of travelling to try new things. We got a pass to all nearby onsens, they stay open long and there's so many to go to! Managed to do about half of them in our stay there. They were all so well maintained and very relaxing. When we left we were offered a lift to the station area which was so kind and the staff waved us off. I definitely want to come back to Kinosaki and back to Yuraki Kinosaki Spa & Gardens!!

One of the best Onsen in one of the most local Onsen Town in Japan. I like that the hotel is still geared towards local Japanese so there is challenges in communication when we ate our morning Breakfast and when we booked a memorable Kaiseki Dinner. Experiencing a traditional Japanese Tatami Room is a must.

Not much. The tourist are the ones that need to learn Japanese customs and traditions when visiting, not the other way around. Challenges are what makes the trip memorable.I wish we stayed longer than 2 nights here.

Some of the friendliest staff out of any hotel I've stayed at anywhere. The rooms were super relaxing with the waterfall and garden right outside your window. Staff were incredibly accommodating. And the private onsens in the hotel were convenient and easy to book (there's just certain times you are able to book them either in the morning or evening). The hotel is a little but away from the heart of the city but it's nice and quiet, and only about a 5 minute walk away from the closest (and best) public onsen in town.

Nothing.

It was wonderful experience and if anyone who is planning to use private Onsen then you can book this place, they have 2 type of private complimentary bath which is they offer us, 1 was apple and 2nd was tangerine. there are 2 other private bath which does not require reservation and it can be use according to availability. One was outdoor and 1 was indoor so we were really happy. Kinosaki Onsen is famous for 7 bath house and place is amazing. They also had amazing breakfast.

We arrived earlier than the checkin hour and we were greeted very nicely and could leave our luggage at the hotel, after checkin we found them in our rooms. The staff was super helpful and friendly and very respectful, at checkout they all accompanied us outside and bowed + gave us umbrellas which we could leave near the train station. The room was super clean and very beautiful with a view to the waterfall and the bamboo forest, the onsens in the building are very clean.

There was nothing we didn't like. Everything was perfect. The only "bad" thing is that we couldn't stay for longer.

The location was peaceful and easy to navigate inside. The access to book your own private onsen bath was lovely as well. The staff was helpful and greeted us every time we arrived and left. Our room overlooked the garden in the back, so we got to listen to the peaceful water feature.

This is a very small complaint, but the duvet provided was too warm. I would maybe suggest having two options for guests. Truly a very very small complaint.
