**A Luxurious Stay at Royal Savoy Lausanne** We recently spent two nights at the Royal Savoy Hotel in Lausanne. The hotel is truly excellent, exuding luxury and elegance in every detail. We appreciated that pets are allowed, as we traveled with our well-behaved small dog. However, despite the impeccable service and opulent surroundings, we couldn't shake the feeling that we didn't quite belong amidst such grandeur. The atmosphere, while sophisticated, felt a bit too formal for us. After our two-night stay, we decided to move to the Novotel Bussigny. There, we found a more relaxed and comfortable ambiance that suited us better. The experience at Novotel was more in line with our preferences, allowing us to unwind and enjoy our stay to the fullest. In summary, Royal Savoy is perfect for those seeking a luxurious and upscale experience. For us, however, the more laid-back environment at Novotel Bussigny was a better fit. Jelena Ostojic

The room was stunning, the view is breathtaking, location is close to a lot of things, the first night we arrived, we got sweets for the kids which was such a nice personal touch. The bathroom is beautiful and there’s a tv with bose speakers in the bathroom so my daughter loved taking a bath which makes life so pleasant.

They don’t explain how their meals work on arrival but it’s easy to ask so not a train smash, I ended up taking my laundry elsewhere to get washed because the cleaning staff just left it there because I didn’t populate their form which is silly because they could have just done that given how much money I paid to stay there, I thought they were petty, they didn’t replace dirty coffee mugs, they didn’t replenish the sweets for the kids - the cleaning staff was horrendous and that was the let down for me. Eveything has to be 5 stars if you’re staying in a 5 star hotel and I felt the after sale service was lacking

We travelled with 1 dog & cat, and the hotel prepared 2 beds + bowls, treats for them + a litter-box for the cat in the room before we arrived! They were very happy. The SPA is nice, it has all you need, despite being very busy, you could comfortably find a spot in one of the facilities, we unfortunately didn't get the chance to try the massages. The breakfast was very good, the home-made croissants were delicious!! All the staff was very friendly and helpful.

While the food was good, the dinner at the lobby was "cold", as there was a constant cold draft coming from the various doors + constant flow of people walking around but not closing the doors behind them. I do give it to the hotel that it was a particularly windy weekend, plus quite crowded as it was Valentine's weekend, however I would advise the hotel to consider putting automatic door-closers, and even though we asked one of the waiters for a blanket for my wife as she was cold, we were told there were none, which we think couldn't be exactly true in a 5 star hotel which has terraces?

Breakfast: Generous, variety, but cold coffee, cold pancakes, egg too much cooked, bread thick not from the day it seems. Breakfast could be improved. Evening meal was excellent great cook, and pastry cook too. The service at the Brasserie outstanding, attentive to the smallest customer desire.

Extremely complicated to get around, you need a user guide!! when you are in the hotel annexe (new building) like the lifts who don’t move if you don’t know it works only with the room card. You can easily get lost when you come for the 1st time.

The staff was very friendly and competent The hotel has modern amenities while having lot of flair and beautiful architecture Service is of a different level than more basic hotels We wanted to enjoy Lausanne and after searching for a hotel on booking.com and initially finding Royal Savoy, I liked it so much that I could not actually book anything else despite anything else being cheaper. Having completed my trip, I can confirm that the rooms were exactly like in the picture (we had the Savoy Executive room with Lake view and Spa), and the balcony offered a spectacular view.

I don't have anything to comment here. For anything a guest is missing, they can speak to the friendly staff who would surely find a solution.

Booking a hotel like the Royal Savoy naturally sets high expectations due to its stellar reputation and premium value. I’m delighted to share that every one of those expectations was not only met but exceeded, making my stay nothing short of perfection.

Critiquing the Royal Savoy is no simple task, as a five-star hotel bearing the prestigious seal of The Leading Hotels of the World is expected to uphold the highest standards in both service and offerings. However, as a coffee enthusiast, I found the breakfast coffee did not meet these elevated expectations. A barista-prepared coffee and additional options, such as filter coffee, would have added a touch of excellence. That said, it is a minor detail that, if addressed, could enhance an already remarkable experience even further.

The food in the restaurant was so good. I had the fillet du perch two nights in a row! Highly recommend it. The bar lobby served great snacks as well, I highly recommend the prawn tempura with the side salad, to die for. The staff were very friendly as well. The receptionist Laura was even so kind to walk me to the main road in order to direct me and explain where to get the Metro.

My fault for not asking for a change of pillows, but they were too soft. The rooftop bar/restaurant serves light bites, not main meals.

Excellent location, well run property, good level of service and deservedly 5-star. The pool area was lovely, even if we couldn't access more facilities as my daughter is aged 11. The team at reception was very good, and managed to secure a late checkout for us as well. The property is in the heart of the city but plenty of mature trees, careful landscaping and lawns made it feel like a haven. A treat of a stay for the two of us!

The bed was advertised as extra wide but it was a regular double bed, and there was sadly no availability for a spa treatment - but we did only book at very short notice, so that is not at all surprising!

Honestly it was one of the best hotels that I’ve ever stayed in. The front desk staff were super helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing, plenty of options, waiter service and staff at the breakfast were nothing short of the best, specially Youssef he was simply amazing. Ideal and central location. 2 mins walk from the metro station. Their rooftop got the most beautiful view of Lake Geneva and the staff there were super friendly. A reservation is required where you get to enjoy drinks and food with an amazing view. Rooms were specious, got a balcony with either park or lake view. Comfortable beds and the bathroom is a huge plus. I definitely recommend this hotel when coming to Lausanne. Can’t wait for future stays.

One of the best SPAs I have ever been. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. The hotel is very well located, right in front of the metro and easy walking distance to many places in the city. Amazing view from the rooftop lounge.

Staff could be a bit more friendlier, specially in the bar next to the lobby (we had a very rude waiter serving us). The rooms could be decorated in a more modern way. Menu in the rooftop lounge should be more extensive (few options available).
