This is such a great place to stay. Yes, as previous reviews point out, the hotel and pub are dated. But that means it’s got character ! We got a warm welcome from all the lovely staff. Our twin room had new bedding and curtains and a fan to keep us cool. A well stocked tea and coffee tray including biscuits and bottled water. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom and clean towels every day. We had full breakfast cooked to order - fantastic ! We ate in the pub one night and it was good pub grub. And then we get onto the position of the hotel - absolutely wonderful ! Right on the Thames with fantastic walks in each direction. Bear in mind the price we paid I really would give our stay 10/10.

Nothing !

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Perfect for river walks and a peaceful getaway. Our room had a stunning view, staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent and we felt comfortable and well looked after. Loved the selection of coffee and biscuits in the room to welcome us. Great that the pub is just downstairs and the food is great. Heater and iron in room.

Our room was lovely and the perfect size, but next time we would probably book Room 1 instead of Room 6, as we are light sleepers and were woken up when the person staying upstairs went to bed and got up in the morning. The kettle in our room needs replacing - it has no filter and had a lot of limescale in it. The pub was cold in the evening and we weren't lucky enough to secure the 1 table in front of the fire. A couple of heaters in the winter would be great.

The Weir is in a lovely location overlooking the Sunbury Weir. The river is a constant living waterway so there is always something going on and a.lovely place to walk along. It is off the beaten track so there is no road noise just running water and the occasional rowing crew passing by. The pub is a lovely place to stop for a drink and a plate of delicious pub food. But also, the rooms upstairs are perfectly comfortable, some overlooking the river, quaintly but comfortably appointed, we had a four poster bed. The breakfasts are delicious too, freshly cooked to order, a great way to start the day. The staff are lovely, helpful, engaging and friendly.

Huge rooms, great tea and coffee tray, amazing breakfast and big, good quality produce! Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Balcony overlooking the weir was beautiful to wake up to, so private, led in bed with a cuppa with the French doors open and the sun shining, perfect! Lovely walk along the river to Boogietown festival, perfect stay, such great value for money, will definitely be back! Really cosy pub too, only managed a drink there before moving to festival but food looked great and really good choice of beer and cider on the bar.

This hotel is ideal location to get to Hampton Court. Just 4 miles distance so even near enough to use a taxi ( Parking at the Palace is limited (200 cars) @ £1.60 an hour.) Hotel is privately run. Alongside the Thames this 1830 built 'Inn' is now a Pub & Hotel. The bedrooms are modern and excellent. Four bottles of water by the kettle (2 still 2 sparkling) showed an attention to detail. The restaurant had a good range of choice and the food is excellent ( best steak pie I've had in months ). The Pub specialises in Craft / Local beers. Standard beer offerings are priced at least 20% lower than we have paid over the last 2 weeks in the South of England. Best thing - The cost £105 for a night in May. An absolute steal. Lowest we paid on this 10 hotel road trip.

Nothing could have been better.

Lovely hotel situated right on the River Thames. Lovely comfortable room with balcony and view of the river. The hotel bar was busy and we ate here both nights. The food was delicious and plentiful. The breakfast consisted of cereals and a full English breakfast was available on request. Again, the food was delicious and plentiful. Staff at hotel were very friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure everything was okay. There is a lovely outdoor terrace but we didn't get a chance to sit there during our stay as the weather wasn't great.

There was nothing not to like.

Excellent location and lovely, efficient staff. Food, especially breakfast, very good and freshly cooked. We would like to mention staff members, Lydia and Rea particularly for the friendliness and helpfulness. Bathroom and room accessories, ie tea, biscuits, shower gel etc all most welcome and of decent quality.

Room and ensuite not well cleaned. Floor of bathroom not clean at all, as we found many hairs on it. Mould around shower screen. In general the bedrooms and public areas could do with refurbishment, as seats and tables were worn and a little grubby

Very clean room, very good value, comfortable bed, great location, plenty of parking.

I will definitely stay here again. Couple of improvement suggestions - our room was exceptionally clean but there was a previous occupants towel still hung on the bathroom door hook. Also, there was an athletics running event and the Weir kindly let them use the facilities. Next time though please don’t make the only access point through the breakfast room. I was sat near the door and up to 30 people had to brush past me. First world problem I know! There was another door that could have been used but that was locked.

Beautiful location by the river, very clean , very comfortable bed and lovely breakfast.

We stayed in this hotel many times in the past taking with us 3 little maltese dogs and have never been charge for having dogs with us. However, we were told that management has changed and we would have to pay £10 per dog cleaning fees. Our dogs do not loose hair , never left room needing any special cleaning because of the dogs. This time they did not charge us , but I don't think I am prepared to pay £30 cleaning fees, if it was £10 I could understand that. Pity...

For us the location was perfect, quiet, peaceful and a little out of Walton on Thames, 1/2hr walk into Walton on Thames, 3/4hr+ to Hampton Court along the Tow Path fabulous, not a problem for us without a car but could for some. Uber worked well if needed. Restaurant adequate and breakfast basic but all we needed. Staff very friendly, and surprisingly all young people running the place. Although it is a in a secluded area was very much the watering hole for the locals.

There cold have been a small menu on the table at breakfast rather than being told what is available. No juice offered though I did notice there was some, if asked for. Having said that, all was OK.
