Beautiful traditional pub/hotel, set right on the river with ample outdoor seating and the towpath to have a pre or post-dinner walk. Very conveniently placed to visit Brooklands Museum and Hampton Court Palace. We booked an extra large double bedded room and were really impressed to find it was a 4- poster - and very comfortable it was, too! Complimentary biscuits, tea, coffee (decaff as well!), hot chocolate and small glass bottles of still and sparkling water were provided. There was also a floor standing fan.The roomy bathroom with bath/shower came with complimentary toiletries. The two doors opened up onto a balcony overlooking the outdoor seating and river and it was lovely to wake up, look out the door and see swans and geese swimming passed. Breakfast was included and you could have a full English (vegetarians also catered for), cereal and toast, tea and coffee. We had our evening meal there too - the fish & chips and vegetarian lasagne were delicious. Hubby was also extremely impressed with the beer.

Only a very small thing - there wasn’t a shower mat in the bath which made taking a shower feel a bit dangerous! I had to put the bathmat inside the bath. Otherwise, the visit was faultless.

The location was as expected my wife had previously lived in Walton-on-Thames some 20 years ago. A very quiet location on the Thames, the staff were lovely and friendly and the breakfast was very good.

The only fault we can pick is the room was a little tired and dated, but having already read the reviews we accepted that for the location. The four poster bed was supremely comfortable. One comment I would make is the french doors and windows could do with voiles, as our room overlooked the communal balcony and the beer garden, so sadly we had to keep the curtains closed due to a distinct lack of privacy.

This is such a great place to stay. Yes, as previous reviews point out, the hotel and pub are dated. But that means it’s got character ! We got a warm welcome from all the lovely staff. Our twin room had new bedding and curtains and a fan to keep us cool. A well stocked tea and coffee tray including biscuits and bottled water. Plenty of hot water in the bathroom and clean towels every day. We had full breakfast cooked to order - fantastic ! We ate in the pub one night and it was good pub grub. And then we get onto the position of the hotel - absolutely wonderful ! Right on the Thames with fantastic walks in each direction. Bear in mind the price we paid I really would give our stay 10/10.

Nothing !

Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. Perfect for river walks and a peaceful getaway. Our room had a stunning view, staff were very friendly, breakfast was excellent and we felt comfortable and well looked after. Loved the selection of coffee and biscuits in the room to welcome us. Great that the pub is just downstairs and the food is great. Heater and iron in room.

Our room was lovely and the perfect size, but next time we would probably book Room 1 instead of Room 6, as we are light sleepers and were woken up when the person staying upstairs went to bed and got up in the morning. The kettle in our room needs replacing - it has no filter and had a lot of limescale in it. The pub was cold in the evening and we weren't lucky enough to secure the 1 table in front of the fire. A couple of heaters in the winter would be great.

Lovely location beside the Thames. Tradition pub and decor. Breakfast was very good. Large sunny area to front of pub with benches, tables and chairs. Good amount of free parking. Dog friendly. Bed was comfortable. Water, tea and coffee in the room.

Pub and rooms could do with some decorating and TLC. The weir/river is quite loud through the night, especially if you have the windows open, but it’s a nice sound. The outside lights were left on all night so the room at the front was a little bright through the night.

Lovely, friendly and cosy atmosphere, plus a stunning location. It has an individuality that is refreshingly welcome, compared to the usual 'chain' hotels. Staff were exceptionally helpful and I was very comfortable in my room. Breakfast was truly outstanding and is included in the price. I'll be back!

If I was being particularly critical, the stairway leading up to the guest rooms could do with a freshen up. But, this is being very 'picky' and in no way took away from the pleasure of my stay.

Parking was easy and the staff were friendly. We stayed in room 1 and it was huge. The decor was nice, bed comfy and there was the bonus of patio doors to the balcony. The bathroom was also huge with a reasonable shower. We enjoyed the full English breakfast. The hotel is completely dog friendly with a £10 flat fee for dogs. We had a tasty dinner in the restaurant. This hotel is not perfect or luxurious but it is cosy, comfortable and clean and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The Weir is in a lovely location overlooking the Sunbury Weir. The river is a constant living waterway so there is always something going on and a.lovely place to walk along. It is off the beaten track so there is no road noise just running water and the occasional rowing crew passing by. The pub is a lovely place to stop for a drink and a plate of delicious pub food. But also, the rooms upstairs are perfectly comfortable, some overlooking the river, quaintly but comfortably appointed, we had a four poster bed. The breakfasts are delicious too, freshly cooked to order, a great way to start the day. The staff are lovely, helpful, engaging and friendly.

Huge rooms, great tea and coffee tray, amazing breakfast and big, good quality produce! Staff were all so friendly and welcoming. Balcony overlooking the weir was beautiful to wake up to, so private, led in bed with a cuppa with the French doors open and the sun shining, perfect! Lovely walk along the river to Boogietown festival, perfect stay, such great value for money, will definitely be back! Really cosy pub too, only managed a drink there before moving to festival but food looked great and really good choice of beer and cider on the bar.

This hotel is ideal location to get to Hampton Court. Just 4 miles distance so even near enough to use a taxi ( Parking at the Palace is limited (200 cars) @ £1.60 an hour.) Hotel is privately run. Alongside the Thames this 1830 built 'Inn' is now a Pub & Hotel. The bedrooms are modern and excellent. Four bottles of water by the kettle (2 still 2 sparkling) showed an attention to detail. The restaurant had a good range of choice and the food is excellent ( best steak pie I've had in months ). The Pub specialises in Craft / Local beers. Standard beer offerings are priced at least 20% lower than we have paid over the last 2 weeks in the South of England. Best thing - The cost £105 for a night in May. An absolute steal. Lowest we paid on this 10 hotel road trip.

Nothing could have been better.
