All the staff were really welcoming and helpful. Upon arrival there were snacks and drinks available and although the breakfast was modest it was more than enough for my family to feed on for the day. We had a family room with two massive queen beds and the room itself was large enough for my family of four to not feel like we were on top of ourselves. Plus the central location was perfect for being able to walk around the central shops and restaurants of Carmel
Maybe a bit more available for breakfast, particular cereals (fussy children) but overall no major concerns would happily stay again

A fantastic stay for our first time in Carmel. The property has everything you would want and more. The room was clean, spacious and had all mod cons along with added extras. The fire in the room made it feel extra cosy and the microwave and fridge were really handy. The complimentary breakfast was ideal with a choice of fresh fruit, some pastries, granola and a hot dish along with tea, coffee and fruit juice. They also provide a wine and cheese/nibbles every evening between 4.30-6pm which was lovely. The WiFi was great and the staff are all very friendly and welcoming. The only negative we could say was that you could hear the rooms around you pretty clearly. Footsteps and noise from the room above and also talking and noise from the room beside. The walls did seem to be very thin. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay for our first visit in Carmel. The location is great and in walking distance to everything down town. If you are having any doubt over booking here, you don’t need to. We would definitely be back.

We loved the excellent location in the heart of Carmel, close to many great restaurants and boutique shops. The room was spacious and well-equipped, with very comfortable beds and a cozy sitting area by the fireplace. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We also really enjoyed the happy hour with local wine and a selection of tasty snacks – a lovely extra!
The building is quite noisy, so we could hear sounds from neighboring rooms and the hallway. Also, breakfast only starts at 8 AM, which might be a bit late for early risers, and the breakfast room felt a bit crowded.

I really liked everything - the rooms are nice, spacious and clean. Really nice to have the fireplace in the room, which added coziness to the atmosphere. Location is excellent to walk around the town and to the beach, and easy to park on the premises. The staff is really helpful, I made an error in my reservation but they were able to help rectify it and it all went smoothly - thank you! Breakfast is good and cooked fresh every morning, although options are limited so it can get a bit repetitive when staying longer.

Breakfast was fine. Nice staff. Room was fine. Location was why we chose Coachman as we needed to attend an event 700 feet away.
The parking is horrible. First come, first served in their lot, and not enough parking for guests when hotel is at full capacity. Not enough space, so some guests decide to park illegally in the lot and then you can't get out in the morning. Then you ask hotel staff to track down owners of illegally parked cars and ask them to move so you can move your car out. Isn't there a better way to manage this?

Coachman’s Inn is the perfect stop if you're doing the Pacific Coast Highway road trip. Carmel is a beautiful and safe small town, and this hotel is right in the heart of it. You can easily explore the town center on foot, with plenty of great cafes and restaurants nearby. We loved the happy hour wine tasting, the jacuzzi, and the secure parking. Breakfast was filling and a great start to the day. The room was well-equipped with everything we needed. It’s also close to the entrance of the 17-Mile Drive, and Monterey is just a short drive away.
The only downside is that there’s no elevator, so if you have a lot of luggage, you’ll need to carry it up a flight of stairs, which was a bit challenging for us after a 20-day road trip with plenty of gear.

The rooms appear to be recently remodeled, bright and comfy. The bed was very comfortable, room and bathroom nicely updated and well laid out. Comfy robes were available in the closet. Our room was very clean. They offer so many extras - cookies at 4 (homemade thumbprint cookies with homemade jam the day we were there), wine and bites before dinner (we had reservations out so did not partake), a nice limited breakfast buffet with wonderful fresh fruit, and what looked like a great entree, plus oatmeal, homemade coffee cake, etc. All were included. The location is excellent - just enough off the main road (Ocean) to be pretty quiet but also very central. The room is well set up for charging phones, playing your own music tracks, etc. The fireplace looked like it would be lovely when there's a chill in the air. We never made it to the hot tub/sauna. Oh, and the Illy espresso maker in the room was a nice treat.
Although very nicely updated, the soundproofing might be better. However, we had our windows open for air as it had been a little warmer the day we were there, so that probably made it seem less quiet. We should have set up the fan that was provided, stored in the closet. Sconces bedside were a little bright.

Wine hour is great. I am pregnant therefore can not enjoy the wine but the cake and and the quiche are great. Location is great, just located in the downtown, great to walk around. We travel in Nov, sunset already at 5PM. If you plan to walk around the downtown at the arrival day, plan to arrive earlier. Restuarants are relatively expensive, but I think this is the market price for Carmel. Same as the hotel, a bit more expensive as in Monterey, but not too much over priced.
nothing particular

Huge bed, as pictured, great breakfast, warm and friendly staff, very close to the main street so lots of dinner options. Offered red velvet cookies on arrival. The lady at reception was very lovely and helpful!
It was an unusually hot day and it wasn't until we arrived that we realised how much air-conditioning was needed. We found a small tower fan, opened windows but that only cooled down the room slightly. It did get cooler throughout the night. We were on the top floor (heat rises) so that didn't help.

Room was large and spacious, loved the fireplace took the chill off in the evening and morning when temperature dropped in February. Hidden microwave was handy if needed, nice coffee machine and selection of drinks. The cheese and wine nibbles late afternoon where excellent as was morning breakfast
Parking is a little limited, first come first served, or else you need to park in public car park nearby. Being an old coaching inn the walls are thin so be prepared for a little noise from your neighbours but this did not spoil our enjoyment, was prepared for it and being right smack in the middle of Carmel a small price to pay!
