- The hotel bar had little choice, with no non-alcoholic options on the menu. But the staff was kind enough to prepare a mocktail!

Everything is super clean. I genuinely like the bidet, very hygienic and comfortable. The toilet also has seat heater. The provided bags are also handy. Having the mirror in the bathroom applied with antifogging substance is a very nice touch! I never see that in the hotels and resorts I've been to. The provided humidifier in the room helped me to cope with the dryness of the winter. I haven't tried the free late evening meal in the reception lounge but they do have that. There's a flash light provided in the room, I guess it is for cases such as earthquake. Luckily I didn't need to use it. The provided kettle is also super clean. The location is convenient, around 8 minutes walk to the station (I recommend to use the stop before Sendai as it is less crowded and less confusing in terms of navigating through the station). Staff is friendly.

It could be better if we had a wardrobe in the room but I beleive it's in Japan so it's all about effective use of space. The instructions on TV were all in Japanese even after I changed the language to English. The only page I found in the TV that has English is the instruction to use the remote controller. I booked the hotel for business purpose. Unfortunately the staff could not issue a receipt since I did the booking here on Booking.com, but it's not a big deal.

I chose hotel Grand Bach for a 4-night stay in October because it's located not far from Sendai Station in "downtown," the room sizes, features and photos looked great, and the price per night was really incredible at around 25,000 JPY. My wife and I dropped off our luggage when we arrived on the shinkansen from Tokyo a couple hours before our 3pm check-in time. When we returned and checked in we had a 15th floor room (out of 16 floors) with a wall of windows facing roughly northeast across the city to the ocean, a pair of oversized twin beds with excellent mattresses, and an extremely well-equipped, well-designed modern hotel room. During the days we toured all over Miyagi Prefecture, and then returned at night to enjoy dinner in central Sendai and a relaxing, comfortable experience when we returned to our room at the Grand Bach. We had a fantastic stay at this hotel, and look forward to staying here again on a future visit to the Tohoku region.

The room and the service exceeded our expectations. The only thing that we didn't like was having to leave!

This bright hotel on the 7th level and higher in a tall building is on one wide boulevard to Sendai railway station, about five to ten minutes' walk from the multilevel railway building. It's the first time lift doors have opened at reception level of a hotel and the guest finds a functioning pipe organ with its keyboard in place behind the welcoming reception staff with whom communication was delightful and easy. As an example of the efficiency and care of the hotel, when guests arrive part of the check-in process is deciding the time and which of two options, Japanese or western, is preferred for breakfast each day of the stay. The first breakfast appears to be always the Japanese one. It's a magnificent array of delightfully presented small morsels, maybe a dozen of them, plus a piece of exquisitely cooked fish, some tofu and fruit. The hotel room was warm, comfortable and well-appointed. Wifi was complimentary with a password and worked well. There is a well-maintained onsen on the top level of the building.

Absolutely nothing come to mind. A few more days would have been welcomed. Perhaps, and it happens in many hotels, there could be one or two more lifts.

Excellent music performance (classical piano and flute duet) with free drinks and snacks in the lounge/dining area. Very comfortable bedding. Convenience store next to lefts at ground floor.

Set breakfast menus (Western or Japanese style) looked excellent but unfortunately neither were suitable for vegetarians nor was the free late evening soba. Room table was tiny with no dining chairs, but no outside foods could be eaten in the communal lounge/dining area, even outside of breakfast time so no meal dining options for vegetarians.

Excellent location, clean rooms, great lounge area with snacks and drinks during the afternoon and alcoholic beverages and a late night meal later in the evening. Standard public bath facilities for a location in a city. Very easy to walk to Rakuten Mobile Stadium, 2 blocks away from train station on the east side (much less hectic than west of the train station)

No parking lot though there is an expensive public parking garage behind the hotel. About 3000 JPY for 24 hour parking.

The location, the cleanliness, the view from the 15th floor, daily housekeeping, the friendly and very helpful staff, the value for money. I could list many things that we loved about Grand Bach!

It’s very hard to fault anything as everything was incredible and we’d stay there again. The only thing which was a tiny bit annoying was whether or not you were going up or down (after touching the swipe access card), you automatically stopped at the 7th/Reception floor. We do understand it would possibly be due to extra security to ensure who was entering and exiting the hotel, as the Reception is not on the ground floor.

The hotel is beautiful and the welcome very warm. They will store your bags prior to/after check in/out with no fuss. One day we went down to the bar area to get a free coffee and there was a pianist and flautist playing classical music, unexpected and great. There is a convenience store on the ground floor and the hotel has its own entrance to it, heaven! Go to Gin, the Dumplings and Dandan Noodles nearby for the best food in the world.

Not a lot of storage in the room

Nice and modern hotel near Sendai JR station. The hotel is very new and it's very well kept. The team was very nice and competent, they were really helpful during the check-in process. Bed was very comfortable. Location is very good: just a short and easy walk from the train station. It has a nice breakout area in the entrance where you have breakfast (I did not try it but looked very good), enjoy afternoon tea and even do some work.

Only very minor thing was the layout of the room: found it difficult to work with the laptop!

Communal ohu bath was excellent. Little speaker in bedroom nice idea. Also water, tea and coffee in room. And furniture was quite tasteful. Pipe organ in reception was kind of wonderful.

I was unable to have breakfast on either morning I was there as it was fully booked, even though I asked the day before. Air con in bathroom was quite noisy and didn’t go off. I was woken very early by neighbouring rooms child shouting and playing some sort of loud, discordant toy piano. Had wanted to sleep more.
