This is a quirky property has lots of fascinating history which they have retained in the Inn and blended with modern facilities in the bedrooms. It is within easy walking distance (4 minutes) of the town but is very quiet as it faces Coronation Park and the road outside isn’t noisy. The friendly landlady gives you a comprehensive briefing on arrival (including helpful advice on parking). We stayed in No1, came with absolutely everything you could want and more, it was spotlessly clean. Breakfast is exceptional in both quality and the size of portions! We were served by a delightful cheerful young lady who delivered the best breakfasts I’ve eaten for years (you’ll not eat until teatime !). Freshly made fresh fruit salad with yoghurt, the full (& I mean full!) English with top quality local ingredients (the bacon and black pudding were exceptional) then toasted thick bread with various jams and marmalade, pots of tea and coffee - you won’t find a better breakfast in the country. Room has a minibar too and Dyson air fan. We loved our stay …I’m only worried that by writing such a glowing commendation that it will be booked up and we will never get back in! WELL DONE JUDE AND THE TEAM!
Nothing, we loved it.

I travel a lot with work and I always try to book small independent hotels/pubs where I can. Problem is, it’s the unknown and it can be interesting. This place is by far the best place I’ve stayed. It’s immaculate. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. Small touches like real milk in your room and lots of breakfast options, including vegan are great. The bed and bedding are of the highest quality and I slept so well. I’m here for work but will be back with the husband! As for location, look at the pics…..

Everything was perfect for the price. Welcoming lady at the bar. Warm, comfortable room with a great sized ensuite bathroom and stunning views. All facilities were excellent and so many little details had been thought of. Breakfast was outstanding. We were really satisfied with every aspect and this was one of the best B&Bs we have stayed in. We would definitely choose again if we return to Dartmouth. Thank you! 😊
Nothing. However be aware that when we stayed (winter) the bars closes early and there is no evening food. This didn't affect our stay as there were plenty of other eateries and pubs in the town all within walking distance.

The Ship in Dock Inn is a little gem. The whole experience was delightful, the room was carefully appointed and provided a very comfortable room with a homely feel. The breakfast was one of the best we have had at any place I have stayed in. The overall stay was a wonderful short stay. The location was 8 minutes walk from the centre of Dartmouth and all the pubs, bars and restaurants available.
The only slightly awkward part of the stay was the parking available around the pub, if your patient you can park outside the pub at this time of year, free for an unlimited period. The main car parks are affordable and close by.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and large or smaller breakfast if preferred. View from room window was good too. Shower was fabulous with plenty of hot water raining down (didn’t have to run round in it to get wet like some hotels) and it was easy to operate too. Beds were comfy with puffy or flat pillows as preferred ( I had a really good sleep every night). Ideal location for us being so close to the British Royal Naval College and it was the cheapest stay in the town to boost. Staff were all very friendly, attentive and helpful. Can’t fault it. It was our second stay and we would definitely stay there again.
The radio gadget on the bedside table was bright at night.

Traditional Inn with very friendly staff in the perfect bar that serves a really good pint of local real ale. Great views of the river Dart. Parking is an issue wherever you see to go in Dartmouth but between the town car park, the 24 hour park & ride, and parking outside the hotel after 6pm it does not detract from your stay. Walk along the riverside and in 5 minutes you are in the heart of the town. Superb breakfast. Loved this place.
Nothing at all.

The property was well maintained throughout. All needs were provided in the bedroom - a toothbrush charger (!), plugs/mirrors in the right places, hot water on demand, great shower, lovely towels, Gideon’s Bible, glasses holder by the bedside, radio/alarm, king sized bed with good bedding. Lovely view of the river and just a few minutes walk into the town. Breakfast was very efficiently served and well presented and cooked. The staff are a credit to this place. Thank you.
For us, in room 1 the only downside was the 7.00am delivery of barrels which was noisy, (acceptable in a pub) mainly due to the loud, inconsiderate conversation from those below our slightly open window.

The staff were lovely, very attentive and friendly. The room was compact but comfortable and it was a short walk away from the town and all the shops. They were also excellent with dietary requirements- I'm lactose intolerant and they had milk and yogurts for me at breakfast.
They don't have any parking at the property, you just park on a single white line across the road, so you can't be there all day.

I only stayed one night, but I had a great experience. The room was a good size, clean, and had a nice private bathroom. The staff were very helpful and pleasant — even though I didn’t interact with them much, they were very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent, honestly hard to improve. Highly recommended!
Nothing major. My stay was short, so I didn’t notice any issues. Everything met or exceeded my expectations.
