I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Barlovento, which came recommended by a friend. I arrived earlier than expected, and the reception team was incredibly polite and accommodating, helping me arrange an early check-in (for a small additional fee, which was absolutely worth it). They even allowed me to enjoy breakfast that morning, which was a great bonus. The location is perfect, surrounded by cozy coffee shops, local stores, and beautiful beaches. It’s set in a quiet area, and many rooms offer views of the ocean. While it feels tucked away from the noise, the city center is still very accessible, making it an ideal choice if you prefer a more peaceful stay with convenience. The overall amenities were excellent. I especially appreciated the breakfast and the pool, both of which made the experience even more enjoyable. While the hotel didn’t have partnerships with local gyms or shops, it didn’t take away from the experience at all. I would definitely stay there again!

The staff on site were always very friendly and helpful and could never do enough. There was always somebody to welcome us as we came in and as we left and further more, they came and greated us outside as the uber dropped us off. Staff found me a quite to work during early hours (4am) and brought me coffee to help make the work easier during these unsociable hours

It is unusual for me to say this but the only thing I didnt like which all hotels do is wrap the sheets on the bed so tight which is really nit picking at best

Excellent location. Close to super markets and 5 minutes walk to the beach. The rooms were spotless and a very good size. Bed was super comfortable. Staff are so friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The pool area is small but the whole 6 days we were there it was always quite so not really an issue.

Breakfast was disappointing. Strange menu that just didn’t work. Sweet French toast with icing sugar and compote but with cheese and ham in the middle. Laundry service was super expensive. We’ve been travelled around for nearly 3 weeks so wanted to get some clothes watched we asked at reception and the cost was per item. It worked out around $7k for a t shirt so to get all of our items washed was over $150 COP. 2 mins up the road we used a laundry service which cost $30 and they delivered it to the hotel.

I loved the location. It had a supermarket across the street. Short taxi ride to airport and la bodeguita.. hotel was clean and well taken care of. Always smelled nice. The restaurant had good affordable food. The free breakfast was excellent. They have Netflix.the staff was kind and very professional

Location,hotel,but the Staff is an amazing collective warm,cheerful ,caring group..from the front desk,restaurant staff, the support staff ( so friendly ). I have traveled extensively but never met such an amazing group.. lazaros

Staff at the hotel were welcoming, very helping and the room was spacious and clean with a comfortable huge bed. Location is very good. Many restaurants around. Breakfast was really nice also food at the restaurant was excellent. We had lunch almost all days of our stay. It was also very nice relaxing by the pool

Nothing to complain

Hotel Barlovento has a good location in Boca Grande. I thought that the room was very clean and modern. And La Lady at the front desk was very sweet and accommodating

The only issue I had here is that service for breakfast is a bit slow. It is not continental and self serve. You have to order with a waitress. If you are in a rush this may not be a good option. However the hotel is across the street from a cafe and a number of convenience stores if you need a quick bite.

The staff were lovely , ever helpful. Esp Luiz on reception and the lady who ran the breakfast . But to be fair they were ALL great. We liked the pool and the breakfast

Room didn’t have a hairdryer and the other thing we didn’t like has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel but it was the aggressive beach vendors and rip off prices on the local boca grande beach , if I could put one person off going there I would as is enough to ruin anyone’s day

The staff was superb, friendly and very accommodating.

It was in no way an issue with the hotel, but unfortunately we witnessed an armed robbery at the lobby of the hotel as we were just checking in. All of the staff who were present at that moment were very professional and acted according to their training, and we are very grateful for that. I hope the city and the respective authorities will invest more resources in the area of security, to protect more the tourist industry which is of such importance to the city and the country overall.
