While I've been to Locarno several times, this was my first stay in the Hotel City Locarno. I was very pleased with it. It's in a "downtown" area, but very walkable and pleasant (about an 8 minute walk from the train station, two minute walk from the closest bus stop) and is close to a park and Lake Maggiore. The staff spoke excellent English and was very friendly. My single room was smallish but very adequate, quiet, and comfortable; the bed was great. Plenty of outlets available. The bathroom facilities were fine. Wifi was great. The breakfast offerings were varied and tasty. We tried the Italian restaurant on the hotel property and were also pleased with the pleasant service and delicious food. (Reservations recommended or go right when it opens as it filled up quickly on a weekday night.) Property photos are accurate. Highly recommend this property.

Best pizza we ever had in a while at the hotel restaurant!

Hotel parking was full, so we were directed to the public parking very near, and told the EuropeCar office in the garage would apply discount granted by the hotel. However, at departure time, EuropeCar attendee refuse to take credit card or any other currency than CHF… sounds a little fishy that a rental company wouldn’t have a Credit Card reader in my opinion… at any rate, we had to go to a bank to get CHF, a good thing this was not on a Sunday.

Great location, very near the lake. Spotlessly clean, modern room with great shower . The receptionist (sorry did not get her name, but she was Russian) was BRILLIANT 🤩. Very helpful and friendly. Gave us some great advice and even helped out with some extra coffee! We stayed on a Sunday when street parking is free, which was an unexpected bonus!

The (double) bed was a bit on the small side.

I used to come to this hotel many years ago with my parents, when it was the Pestalozzi hotel, and I am happy to see that they have refurbished the rooms and the public areas. They did a very good job and also the staff in the reception and the restaurant were very kind.

This hotel was refurbished inside but they urgently need to clean and refurbish the facade and the external parts.

Friendly & attentive staff always ready to assist with any needs making service both efficient and enjoyable. Option for a late check-out greatly appreciated. Room 307 peaceful and comfortable providing a restful night’s sleep. Delicious breakfast with a variety of options to start the day right. Adding a small regional specialty would bring a nice local touch to the experience.

Hotel City has a very convenient location: you can discover Locarno & surroundings on foot. The room was modern, with pleasant decoration and good A/C - heating, quiet as requested (overlooking a parking in the backyard). Slept very well! Breakfast was fine, no stress, with everything needed. Staff at breakfast & reception very nice and helpful, always smiling at the customer - which we appreciated. Highly recommended for a city break in Locarno.

The hotel located at nice area near old town and the modern district , there are a very good restaurants around the hotel area where including the hotel restaurant, also , the hotel is a few steps from the lake , the hotel was clean and modern , secured and cosy.

The location of the hotel is quite central and everything is within walking distance of a few minutes. The staff were lovely cordial and very helpful The room was spacious, with a balcony. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel There is parking at the hotel's cost, which is very convenient for those arriving by car
