This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff are so friendly and attentive yet without being obtrusive and one staff member Michel remembered us from years ago and greeted us like old friends which was lovely. It is a very beautiful hotel and the attention to detail is second to none. The cuisine is outstanding and they have an excellent and extensive wine list. Rose petals are left on your pillows at night by the evening service and there are always little treats in store. The concierge is most helpful and can provide any information or service you require, for example airport transfers, chauffeured driven tours with wine tastings and picnics. There is a spa and swimming pool and beautiful grounds.

It is quite a formal hotel in a way - but it is what you make of it. The only thing is if you do not hire a car and walk the 10 minutes into the centre of town it is a very steep little entrance to the hotel and their is a gradual hill to get to there. ( We took advantage of the small shuttle service for under a couple of euros to get back.) It might not be to everyone’s style.

I came back to Villa Gallici after I went with my fiancée last year, we planned to celebrate our two year anniversary at the Hotel. The Hotel itself is absolutely stunning, very relaxing and overall I would recommend the hotel for a short stay and I would likely return in the future. However there was a couple of points this year that just really let down my entire experience. Firstly; last year the staff were phenomenal. Exactly what you expect from a 5* hotel and the very reason that we went back. This year was a truly average experience, the reception staff overall were fine. But the wait staff over the rest of the hotel were sharp, unwilling to go the extra mile, no one once asked me in 6 days how my experience was. The restaurant & pool staff were clearly inexperienced, overworked and their hearts just were not it in. The whole experience overall was - meh. I didn’t feel looked after, I also didn’t have any huge complaints except point number two - the food. This was my absolute nightmare overall, the food menu is nutritionally unbalanced. The hotel just does not cater for a stay longer than a night or two. You can’t even get a decent salad at the pool. The Gallici salad has no protein, I ate the Burrata salad four times and had to ask for them to add ham just for some nutritional balance. The gastronomic experience is 150e a head and it was - ok. Nothing special. Very small portions and underwhelming. I did raise the issue one day with the server and she quite literally said ‘go into town then’ which I did. For the very first time in my life staying at a hotel, I ordered Deliveroo 3 times during my stay. I did speak with a few guests casually during the course of my stay and every, single, person said the same thing. The only pool option is quite literally greasy pizza or a burrata salad. The restaurants are often empty and I can see why. Overall as I said the Hotel itself is really quite beautiful, but the service & food really lets it down.

I had a dress taken up a few inches, which they very kindly offered to organise however I was charged 70e which is three times what I would pay in London.

It's a great place to stay for a short break. The decor and attention to detail is first rate. The breakfast choice is outstanding. The rooms are clean and spacious. It has a fantastic dining terrace. The pool area is superb.

It's an uphill 15 mind walk from centre of Aix which is challenging after dinner. Also, it does not really have an area to for guests to 'hang out'; except outdoors and up a rather intimidating spiral staircase. Most of the staff are helpful but we stayed for 5 nights and as our stay progressed, the service slipped. It would be good for the hotel to keep up the same standard of service throughout.

Incredibly beautiful place ! Every detail is impeccable. We stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we weren't wrong. Everything was perfect. We used the spa services and I must say it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. In the evening we had dinner at the restaurant - it was very delicious and beautifully served. The breakfast was also perfect. Thanks to the whole hotel team for an incredible stay! Hope to return next year

the air conditioning is not proficient for summer months in the Provence. The room was hot at night and there was no way to cool further.

Welcome and reception experience was exceptional. We loved the location of being able to walk into the town but the hotel feeling so tranquil. I loved the little touches like fresh rose petals and lighting a candle in the bathroom on turndown. The pool and Spa are immaculate and so peaceful.

Service is the restaurant is not what you would expect for the level of property. We were really looking forward to dinner but it took 30 mins for someone to even to come to the table to take an order. He wanted to take our food order at which point I pointed out we hadn’t even had water or a drink. When we came to check we had also been charged for two glasses of champagne at dinner we never have. Breakfast is very average and overpriced for what is on offer.

An incredible property set close to the most amazing city of Aix-en-Provence. From the initial welcome at reception to our departure we were continually wowed. Small gestures made our stay the most memorable, from the welcome letter in our room with sweet treats, to the offer of a take-away coffee at departure (we didn't have time for breakfast :-() to everything in-between, I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. The location is perfect (only a 10 minute, delightful walk to the centre of town), the grounds are immaculate (we went for a wander in the gardens and it was like attending an art exhibition too!), the decor is out of this world, the food in the restaurant is sublime, the bed linen makes you feel like you're sleeping in heaven (hands down the softest I've ever known, we all commented on it!) and the staff are all extremely helpful and polite. I didn't want to leave!

Everything was wonderful.

Everything was just perfect. The place is spectacular. The staff is great, helpful and friendly. The rooms, bathrooms and common areas are not only beautiful but super comfortable and cosy. The location is great since you are 5 minutes walk to the city centre but in a very tranquil area, far from the noise of cars and people. Ample and comfortable parking is also wonderfully convenient. The atmosphere is magic.

The restaurant's food is not what you would expect in a place like Villa Gallici and for the price you pay. The menu is quite limited, the food often comes lukewarm, it's quite good but not special (with the exception of the bisque), there is no wine list and no choice for wine by glass. There is no sommelier to guide you through the wines choice, despite the amazing cellar the hotel has, nor the waiter act as one. Drinks come late, after the starters are on the table and you often have to pour your own drink despite the bottle is not even on the table. In a place which is spectacular, this area could do with some improvements. It did not spoil our stay, but it could have certainly improved since we stayed 4 nights.

We had the most wonderful waiter who has been workin at the property for many years (since it was opened). His charm and character were delightful and it made our stay so enjoyable. The concierge and reception was also very accommodating and took care of all of our needs

Everything was absolutely perfect.

I like all the ambience, service staff is friendly and helpfull. SPA therapists are very good, Poool area nice too.

The breakfast is very limited considering that they have an excellent frestaurant, so you would expect more then just some sweet stuff and a bit of ham, samon, cheese and scramble eggs
