Old place, nicely modernised. I had a rather lovely attic room but with low beams that were a bit of a danger. Also I did not realise I had booked a room with a private shower room - on the floor below! (I had my own loo en-suite). but that was fine, and it was therefore a competitvely priced room, but do check that when you book. staff were great and the food was really very good. It is not 'pub grub' - a 2 course menu with four choices at each course was £30. The sourdough bread from the bakery round the corner was amazing, the beef, with onion and potato terrine and bordelais sauce was pretty much Michelin standard, as was the lemon and lime meringue pie. there is a serous chef at work here. The special menu nights look amazing too - I think the desired positioning is as a very good 'restaurant with rooms' rather than a pub or a hotel. Location - pleasant village, country walks, interesting churchyard and 400 yards from Mallory Park (motor racing)!

the beams I kep bumping my head on!

The room was lovely, clean, bright, and not too hot. I had a fan which was great (it was ever so hot outside). I had a front facing room but the road was quiet enough for me to have the window open, however, I was provided with ear plugs just in case - a really nice touch. The towels were large and fluffy, the shower was good. Toilet seat was soft close and there was plenty of paper. Bed was comfortable, with extra pillows, and there was a large bottle of water and glass next to the bed. I had a lovely stay, thank you.

The alarm clock was 5 minutes late - but I set the alarm on my phone so it was ok really!

The location was spot on, we attended an event at Mallory Park which is a minutes walk away. The room was lovely. We literally only slept there and our dog was super happy too! We didn't eat there as we were zonked in the evening and breakfast was served too late for us but would definitely stay again if we had an event! We went for walks around the village with the dog and the scenery is stunning. We'll worth a stay if you're going to an event at Mallory Park!

Only that there was quite a few cobwebs on the ceiling and in the bathroom, but it was very clean other than that! Didn't have breakfast as it wasn't serving until 8.30 and we were leaving at 8. Also, only one mirror in the bathroom, so quite difficult to do your hair if you're using Straighteners, etc, but I managed! The mirror was beautifully lite to do my make up so, swings and roundabouts!

Amazing food as always. Bed and room comfortable and clean. Huge spa bath!

Just one or two little niggles. There are only two plug sockets either side of the bed. This means that you have to choose between having the mini fridge plugged in, having the lamp on, having the clock plugged in, or charging your phone. A broken part on the spa bath meant we couldn't drain it. Only four mini sachets of milk provided meant that we had to go down to the kitchen to ask for more.

Room was a good size with ensuite. Bathroom very good. Dinner was high quality with helpful staff. Staff were generally very helpful and professional.

Our room only had one chair. In this double room we should have had at least one chair each and the room was also big enough for a small table. The cooked breakfast was very good, but we expected the continental breakfast items to be included in the full English. We had to ask for toast and marmalade, but there was no marmalade - a crucial breakfast ingredient surely?

Julie was brilliant with checking us in and manning the bar and dining area. The room was comfortable and there is ample parking area. The food was impressive with a load of flavour. It’s really close to Mallory Park circuit.

Music though played very mildly on low volume in the dining area below permeates into the rooms because of the acoustics (you can feel the beats in the room)

Staff, food, location and hotel in general. Our dog who unexpectedly had to go with us was treated like royalty during our stay, by staff and locals :)

We werent told until arrival that our room was not en-suite, there was a toilet in the room but we had to go to another floor in the hotel for our shower. This shower was exclusive to us and not used by other guests.

The room was lovely, clean and inviting. The bed was comfortable. Although there was no shower in the room it was not a great issue as there was an en suite toilet. The staff were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

I think the food portions are a little mean for the prices. The Pork specifically I would not order again. It tasted lovely and was priced like a main course but it was barely a starter. breakfast could have had more then 1 rasher of bacon but it was still tasty. i would also not put the margarine on the hot plat but rather keep this separately.

Fabulous food , beautiful restaurant, great service.Ample parking

For the most expensive room in the building.it was a shame it was so noisy. I assume it was directly over the kitchen,as could hear the noise of the working environment. overlooking the car park was a little less than perfect as the headlights from the cars did shine into the room even when the curtains were closed.

Beautiful rooms, comfy bed and pillows. Restaurant food was fabulous.

I wasn't aware of the 24 access door code and couldn't find any staff later in the evening to find out what the code was (couldn't see it in my room either). I wedged the door open instead and was nervous to move far! Also pre-ordering breakfast the night before isn't my preference either.
