Comfortable beds, large room, view of the volcano, pool bar, many colorful birds in the hotel, good location, very nice breakfast and dinner.

We found it very strange that during check-in one has to sign a long list of hotel rules with exact fines for each breach, like 50$ if listening to music without headphones at the pool. That's common sense anyway - it doesn't feel like good hospitality to threaten with fines at check-in.

Our room was very clean and the view of the Arenal volcano was amazing. It even spouted a bit of steam on the morning of our departure. The hot spring pool was hot and the waterfall was even hotter and provided a wonderful massage. The breakfast was delicious and very filling and the staff was wonderful.

The overall property was very simple and we felt that the price was higher than one would expect for the simple accommodations. One our first day we were the only people arond so the pools were private.

Majestic view of the Arenal Volcano. Pool area was beautiful and had a thermo pool connected which was great for a swim in the warm water with a small water fall to sooth your pains from the day of hiking and rafting. The free breakfast was really good each morning next to the pool. Big clean private cabin in a jungle setting and still close to the main road and the town of Fortuna. Lots of things to do close by in both directions. The waterfalls, warm water river, and the volcano were all spectacular! Arenal Whitewater rafting is a mind blowing experience and a must do. Don't worry it is very safe even though you will be screaming like you are a kid on a roller coaster.

It was all great!

we liked that we could saw directly to the mountain! the place was almost empty so we had the staff attentions all the time and the pool and thermal water all to us. Thanks to the tons of plants that where in the property there where lots of birds around, and it's precious to see them eat, come and go.

The thermal waters are not what we expected, we thought it was a natural pool, it smelled a bit but I think that's natural and it's fine. It looked like a dirty man-made pool. In the place that we were, the bathroom was looking at the bar so I thought that anyone could look inside at the night if it had ill intentions. At some time the smell of cow poop and septic water reek a lot around the property, it might be uncomfortable for some, but to be honest, all of La Fortuna area reeks of septic water for some reason that I don't know. The hotel uses hard water, it might be a little cornering for some people so I write this just in case. the entrance is full of potholes and it's not asphalted, it's gravel all over combined with a graduated slope.

The volcano view bungalows were beautiful, loads of bird life and great to hang out on the terrace, cool and hot spring pools plus swim up bar were great too. Bungalows were clean and comfortable with a new bathroom.

A few things were hit and miss, great restaurant food one night, average the next, bar staff being really attentive one night, next night on their phones and not serving. Room was cleaned and fresh towels bought but rubbish not collected and only cardboard cups for coffee, which weren’t replaced. This lack of attention was frustrating as this place is almost perfect but let’s itself down in simple things. Overall we did have a great stay.

The location of this property is amazing. Our view of the volcano was breathtaking. The room was clean, spacious, and we had everything we needed. I loved the huge sliding glass door and the view of the volcano out our shower window. We saw iguanas, toucans, and hummingbirds from our balcony. The pool and hot springs were quiet and refreshing each day. We loved the quiet and intimacy of this property compared to busier hot spring properties in the area. Breakfast was delicious each morning and our dinner at the restaurant was yummy. All of the servers and the bartender at the swim up bar were so friendly and kind. We would stay here again if in the area.

Beautiful grounds and individual cabins. We were able to see so many birds and even toucans a couple of times. We did not get a chance to see Arenal because of the fog. Close to all the attractions and safe. Staff was friendly. The kids loved the hot spring

The room was very basic and the shower only worked on hot or cold. Food was not great and was overpriced. We had the septic tank right in front of the bungallow and sometimes you could feel the smell in the room.

The views from the bungalows were amazing and we loved the privacy of each one. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and the two pools (natural and chlorine) were really unique with a fantastic view of the volcano. This resort is run by a family and their extended members and they were all very nice and attentive. The food in the restaurant was very good. Good options for the included breakfast.

Prices of alcoholic cocktails were very high.

The staff here were incredible! The battery of our rental car died on our first night and they helped us get a taxi and then worked with our rental car company to fix our car while we were away on our excursion. It really meant a lot that they went above and beyond. The view from our room was absolutely stunning! we had a big front patio where we could have our morning coffee and watch the birds and iguanas. We were lucky to get a good view of the volcano on our first morning, but it was covered with clouds the rest of the time. We enjoyed the hot springs every evening. They were so awesome after long days of hiking and excursions. I would absolutely stay here again on my next visit to La Fortuna. The included breakfast is good and you can choose from a few options. The breakfast servers are super friendly, positive, and quick. Which was a great way to start the day. We stay in a deluxe suite (number 15) that has been renovated. It was modern and clean with one king bed and one queen bed. We had a little fridge, lots of room for luggage, and lots of coffee. The shower had a big window in it with a gorgeous view of the volcano and greenery.

We had dinner at the restaurant one night and the service was incredibly slow (like painfully slow). The food was okay, but not great. So we didn't eat dinner there again. The driveway up to the deluxe suites (14 & 15) were a bit sketchy when coming back in the dark - they could use some lights or maybe to be paved a bit. We had one issue with our room not being cleaned when we had the sign out asking for it to be cleaned, but once we told the front desk they quickly rectified it.

The hotel was fantastic! one of our favorite's of our trip. The grounds were so beautiful, views were the best, room was good size and comfy and very clean, the pool was so relaxing and the restaurant and all staff were very attentive. Parking was safe and convenient and the location of this hotel couldn't have been better!

Kids were hoping to order the tasty pizza in the restaurant a 2nd night but it is only an option on certain nights. Our sheets would not stay on the bed so we would find ourselves sleeping directly on the mattress, could use higher quality mattresses and bedding but nothing that would sway us to go elsewhere!
