Location with in beautiful grounds and a stones throw away from the river with beautiful views. I wanted to stay a little out the way but needed easy access to the city and SCV. Hotel has a bus stop right outside entrance and an under pass so you can cross under the road safely. Myself and my daughter used taxis a handful of times but once became familiar with surroundings used bus as much as possible. We ate dinner in the hotel restaurant and picked from the main menu not the buffet. All food that was ordered was lovely . Hotel room was fresh and clean with comfy beds, hot showers, tv, fridge and kettle with complimentary tea and coffee. Myself and my daughter enjoyed chilling in the lobby of an evening playing board games. Our time in Rov was spent at santas city office,SCV, skiing and bear hill husky’s.

Not a criticism just a recommendation to add a child’s menu/small portions rather than paying full price for a child to eat at adult meal.

Absolutely amazing. The hotel is in the perfect location in our opinion, away from the city and in a remote location. The staff were incredible, so helpful, friendly and genuinely happy people. The food was great too, we had breakfast and dinner both days. An absolute must is the snowmobile tour. We had the pleasure of meeting Saku who is so friendly, loves his job and very pleasant. He was so patient and we loved loved loved this once in a lifetime tour!! Honestly incredible. We would love to stay here again and recommend anyone who is thinking of staying here to do so!

Our room smelt a little from the previous people using the kitchen facilities in the room

Miko and his team of staff were exceptional!! They were extremely professional and kind throughout our stay. The hotel is located near the forest and lake and it gave us a beautiful wilderness feel. We even had the opportunity to have a campfire and bbq marshmallows! We took the suite with kitchen and it was very comfortable. We booked the hotel car to travel out and the pricing was reasonable. Miko is the owner of the hotel and yet he was very kind and humble. The breakfast spread was good. We also had dinner in the hotel and the food was very fresh and delicious. Very affordable too. The only regret we have is, we didn't take a photo with Miko and his team!! If you are looking for a beautiful stay away from the hustle and bustle of city life, this is the place!! Thank you Metsahirvas!! 😍

It is a really great place to stay near Rovaniemi. We spent 4 nights here and had a great time. The room was clean and spacious, the breakfast was great. One night we had dinner at their restaurant and the food was tasty. The best thing in this hotel that you can see the Northern Lights from here! We were really lucky and saw the lights 3 out of 4 nights and it was amazing!

Maybe the room could have been a little bit warmer (We are not from the North...) but thankfully the blankets kept us warm enough.

If you are looking for a perfect base in Lapland - look no further. The hotel is located outside of Rovaniemi in a breathtaking location by the river. Mikko (the owner) and his staff are gracious and hands-on hosts, nothing was too much trouble, breakfasts and dinners were delicious and our room was warm and comfortable. We greatly enjoyed our snowmobile and dog-sledging adventures and while we only caught a glimpse of the Aurora, the trip was nevertheless most enjoyable. Thank you and we hope to see you again soon!

We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights. The location out of town provided a quiet nature surrounding, but required transportation into town and back. I recommend that you book all activities from the hotel, which will save you lots of travel. The hotel feels very homey and intimate. The staff are very warm and helpful, and feel almost like family. Buffet breakfast was varied, though it was the same every day. I recommend the Metsahirvas especially for couples looking for a quiet homey place

The room was not big, but it had everything we needed and a window to the snowy back yard, frozen lake & forest.

The property is fabulous and the location is a stunning spot but you are very far from Santa's village... It takes 2 buses to get there and if your stay is during the week then that's fine but at the weekend the buses are very sparse. We were a family of 7 and it cost us €70 each way in private transport to and from Santa's village... It was a big expense on top of everything else... Maybe hire a car would be the best option if you could...

Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms were brilliant for our family of 4. Very spacious family suits with a large bathroom and kitchen with everything you could need. Very quiet area.

I wouldn't say we didn't like breakfast but possibly a couple more options would have been great. If you like the traditional Finnish breakfast and sausages the breakfast was great, just not quite to our taste but we found things to eat. But plenty of options for drinks.

Large rooms with nice shower (hot water and great pressure). The hotel is on a lake with an awesome barrel sauna and cold plunge in the lake. Very nice set up! The hotel is away from lights and on a lake so we could easily see the Northern Lights. We had a rental car so super easy to get back and forth from the city.

The walls are thin so we could hear people in the hall. The guests were respectful of each other so it wasn’t a big issue.

One of the best vacations 🤍 All the staff is very friendly and hospitable. The food is definitely a highlight with good and fresh variety for every day. Being also so close to the river (and far enough from the city) means that there’s a good chance to see the northern lights just by walking around the area. The organised tours were great, especially with the Huskys and the Finnish sauna experience with Ice bathing. The rooms are comfortable and cozy. We enjoyed the time a lot.
