Everything! Very comfortable bed; lovely garden and terrace to while away a very hot afternoon; excellent breakfast; good dinner in the restaurant or a nice range of bar meals if you're not so hungry. An efficient fan was provided in the bedroom which, along with wide-opening windows, made the very hot nights bearable. The staff were efficient and friendly, making us feel like truly welcome guests.
A tiny niggle, not really a dislike but I wish some instruction had been provided as to how to operate the dual-headed shower. In three days, I never managed to escape without an unexpected gowt of water from the ceiling giving me an unplanned hairwash!

The staff were very helpful Sarah the house keep manager who also cleaned rooms was so caring, went out their way to go to the kitchen and get fruit teas for my Son and I, as we had forgot our box of teas, Sarah was very polite and professional, and friendly ,they had this mystical positive manner and aura, they were well dressed and kept their hair lovely, talking to them was a pleasure such history on the stories. They did not say was a manager, but that's how they came across, Thank you. On the first day the breakfast was great a young man whom I do not know his name was very helpful and again to my Son too for his veggie sausage, he was also extremely helpful to us too just before he went off shift at 2 pm. I went there with family and friend we was on the first floor. We had been a few years back too, that time was on a second floor with a larger room and delightful bathroom. So both times our visits have been nice, they do not do food on Sunday eves, the bar was closed, so we walked down the road and there was plenty to choose from.
There was not a lock on the bathroom window, yes it might be hard to open from outside, but it did concern us.

The staff are always very efficient and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is nicely cooked and well presented. We stayed for two nights with a good, hearty breakfast included. We booked for dinner on one night. It was very tasty and priced reasonably. The hotel has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere with a pretty, well-kept garden for guests to use. The shops and theatre are within easy walking distance and Fareham train station a short drive away. This was our third visit to Lysses.
There wasn't much that we didn't like but one must bear in mind when staying at the weekend that the restaurant is not open on Sunday evenings. This is made clear in the booking confirmation though and alternative places can be recommended by the staff.

Lovely Georgian hotel with plenty of history. Stayed one night in order to catch up with friends nearby. Clean and comfortable room, modern bathroom with a great shower. Bed very comfortable too with excellent mattress and pillows. Tea, coffee and hot chocolate provided in the room were not the usual Nescafé etc but better quality. Fantastic breakfast next morning. Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Great value for money at only £58.50 B&B.
Nothing really. Duvet a bit thin, but there was a blanket in the wardrobe and to be fair, I am usually cold wherever I go!

Lovely Georgian building with very high ceilings, decor was sympathetic, our bedroom was large and comfortable, it had good storage for clothes and plenty of sockets. A trouser press, fan, hair dryer and tea making tray. A free car park attached to the hotel at the rear, and only a 5 minute walk into the town centre.
The breakfast was OK but limited to fruit juice, cereals and a fried option. Normally I would expect to have a range of fresh fruit, yogurts, Danish pastries, croissants, muffins. The menu said yogurt, porridge or kippers could be requested but it would have been good to have some extra choices on the buffet table.

*Breakfast was great *Location was great and the hotel was easy to find *Car parking was on site too, which was helpful
*Signage could be better inside the hotel (e.g. reception was some way from the back entrance and I spent some time waiting at the bar for someone to finish his order). There are also several staircases, which was confusing. *Some maps and information about the town would also have been useful because I found the restaurant was closed due to a wedding. This meant I had to set off in search of a restaurant in an unfamiliar town in order to get an evening meal following my arrival.

Good location, very comfortable and spacious room, food was delicious, free parking, very clean. Great for visiting family nearby.
Took a while for food orders (over dinner and breakfast) to be taken but food was really good. Bit of a potch needing to hand in and request key everytime I went out - had to wait around a couple of times to get my key. Windows could do with curtains. My room was above a garden area and I had to keep the curtains closed to avoid people seeing in.

Just about everything at Lysses House Hotel was exceptionally good. If I have to select one particular feature, it would be the staff, they were all so pleasant, polite, helpful and friendly - I really felt as if I was staying at a good friends house rather than an hotel.
One feature of Lysses House Hotel is that it is a very popular venue for wedding recptions and similar gatherings. That often results in some facilities being unavailable on those occasions. Also, I found it a little inconvenient for the dining room to be closed on Sunday evenings. However, the really splendid meal at lunchtime was probably sufficient food for one day.

The room was very pleasant, light and airy. There was an issue with the key but staff sorted this efficiently and promptly so it became a plus! The dining rooms were attractive with white linens cloths and fresh flowers. The food was delicious. I had a lovely evening meal, well presented, beautifully cooked and served. Breakfast choice was limited but very good quality. The bed was firm as were the pillows, this suited me. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Fresh milk for the tea/coffee would be a good addition. Not keen on the biscuits, these could do with an upgrade.

The staff were all excellent; friendly and attentive, and the food was fantastic. Breakfast was first class, as were the evening bar meals (although I thought £9 for a dessert was a little steep). The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a great, walk-in shower as well as a slipper bath, the towels were luxurious and there was a good supply of excellent quality tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits etc. Parking was free and the hotel was in a good location for our sight seeing. The gardens were beautiful and well kept, providing a lovely place near the bar to have a drink!
Some areas of the hotel were shabby and could do with refurbishment and the pillows were hard. We would have preferred a fridge in our room to a trouser press.
