After rejecting my travel partner's suggestion of Hampton by Hilton for being overpriced and unappealing in the photos, I was given the task of booking the hotel. I eventually chose Regnum Residency on Booking.com based on: 1. Price 2. Breakfast included 3. Proximity to the city center 4. Standard double rooms (x2) 5. Reviews 6. Pictures Compared to other hotels in the same price range, Regnum stood out with its bright, spacious rooms and dining areas, plus bathrooms rivaling those in more expensive hotels. Though this wasn’t a luxury getaway, we wanted comfort—and Regnum delivered. Despite initial skepticism (wondering if it might be one of those “great in photos, terrible in reality” places), the hotel was perfect. My travel buddy and I were pleasantly surprised. We each got a room suited to us: one spacious and clean on the lower floor, and the other cozy with a serene courtyard view—ideal for reflection with a coffee. Both rooms were well-equipped with complimentary amenities like coffee, water, an iron, a hair dryer, fresh towels, and room service. Breakfast was fresh, hot, and filling, though vegetarian options were limited, and some days it was a bit oily. Still, it kept us going until lunch—or later. The staff were exceptional, polite, helpful, and genuinely welcoming from check-in to check-out. Angela (her name in English) and the team made our stay even better. The location was fantastic, just a 3-minute walk from a stunning view of the Parliament building across the river, with tram and metro stops nearby. For a scenic adventure, I’d recommend the 30-minute riverside stroll to the Szechenyi Chain Bridge and into the city center—a pleasant 45-minute walk in total. Hotel Regnum exceeded our expectations and truly lived up to the photos!

The room where we stayed was pretty big and comfortable and quite clean. It was very close to the Parliament and to all the places we wanted to visit, just minutes away.

The breakfast was very poor and there was not much to choose from. Pay attention to the parking: if you are leaving the car near the hotel and you don' pay immediately, someone from Public Transportation will fine you, no matter how much it will take. The parking at the hotel costs 20 euro/ day, meanwhile the public parking costs 5 euro/ 3h and is free on the weekends.

The hotel is good, but a bit pricey for this kind of accommodation. It was a nice option for staying during the Sziget festival due to its convenient location near the train station to the island. The AC worked well on our first floor, and the beds were comfortable

It was a very strange situation with the cleaning staff. They knocked on our door and immediately opened it twice in the morning while we were still sleeping. The cleaning lady opened the door, saw us sleeping, and asked, "Do you want me to clean?" It was quite odd for me. This happened again even after we put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the handle. However, after we spoke to the reception staff about it, they stopped coming, thankfully

Big room, comfortable bed, hot shower. Welcoming reception staff. View on the inner cortyard with some beautiful big trees. Quiet. Breakfast was actually ok, with some variety and tasty, just its presentation not up to standards. Some cafes and restaurants, supermarket nearby.

The 2 in 1 body and hair gel, who does personal care like that? In addition both hand soap and body lotion bottles almost empty, no other hand soap either. Breakfast was presented in an unattractive way, including rotten fruit. Personnel in diner looked like they could not care less.

Breakfast was amazing, well cooked and great variety. It also came with the cost of the room. Breakfast staff and front desk help was excellent. Room service help was friendly, helpful and amazing too! Many of my family and their relatives stayed here, so that was great. Excellent location and easy access to public transportation. Great location near the walkway on the Danube across from the Parliament and below the big castle. Amazing night time views

Really nice hotel with large comfy rooms! Good comfy beds! Large selection of TV channels (mostly local but a few also international). Good location !!! In walking distance to major attractions !!! Good staff that know English and are very helpful with your every need.

The breakfast was a bit light... not to many options there BUT you should be able to find something to eat out of what they are offering. It could be that this happened because the occupancy was a bit low right now.

The location of the Hotel is in the old town a bit far to tram or bus but most of the sights are close to the hotel (Buda castle, Fisherman Bastion, Island,...). The breakfast was ok, would expect a bit more from a 4* hotel.

The "air condition" was not really cold as throughout our stay the outside temperatures were around 37 degrees, the room was really warm even though the AC was on 24/7. Again, would expect better AC when staying in a 4* hotel.

Breakfast was normal and interesting. We tried different dishes from our kitchen :)We are very glad to have arrived at your hotel. You have very attentive and warm staff. Special thanks to Niki and the guy at the reception:) also to Haskiffing:)The rooms are the same as shown in the pictures. Clean and well heated. You can walk to most of the sights of the city, the transit is 50 meters away, which is very convenient for tourists. In the evening, a beautiful view of the Parliament can be seen from the nearby Danube bank. It is a cozy and calm environment. I recommend everyone to choose your hotel.

We couldn't find a restaurant nearby where there would be not only dry food and sweets

Breakfast was rather brief but the service was excellent. I particularly liked the happy looking hostesses who were excellent with their English and greetings. Room was comfortable for one person. Location is easy for accessing public transport as well as taxi services as I needed.

1. As far as the breakfast goes, however, noise from the offices nearby were unpleasant which could have been easily improved by a light background music to cover the grinding noises. 2. Mentioning €5 on the menu put me off to be counted as a cheap breakfast. It's an unprofessional publicity style trying to make the guest guilty not ordering more items. 3. Automatic lights in the corridor were annoying to step into pitch black out of the lift. 4. Having no internal services such as massage or using part of restaurant as daytime or evening coffee break for the guests goes against a proper home feeling.

In a peaceful safe area of Buda. Very comfortable rooms. Incredible spread for breakfast

The restaurant wasn’t open for dinner and having a baby we didn’t want to have to go out however the receptionist happily made us a dinner reservation at an exceptional restaurant called Mandragóra which was a short walk and our grandbaby slept the whole evening
