The hotel itself is quite small, which as for me has mostly advantages. The staff is very kind and the contact before and during the stay was perfect. They also provide 5euro breakfast to the room, which is small Italian one (coffee, juice, croissant) but the price as for Rome is also excellent. The location is excellent, very close to Vatican and river Tiber it was a great starting place for all walking trips in Rome, also not far to the subway. The nearby area is clean and safe, many restaurants, cafes and interesting shops in vicinity (i.e. shop for carabinieri).

Poor sound isolation, and it's not about the noise isolation, but purely any sound. You can really hear every word from the reception, so if you want to sleep longer than 8am that might be difficult. The hotel is equipped with signs to keep silence, but that does fix the soundproofing. Nevertheless I can still recommend this place especially if you aim to use as much as possible your time in Rome on excursions.

We had a lovely stay at the Eccelso hotel. Only a few steps from the Vatican city. Close to any big sightseeing. If you do not mind and can walk, the furthest city treasures are within a 50 minutes walking distance. The staff at the reception were great, helpful and unbelievably friendly. The hotel room was cosy and comfortable. We can imagine coming back. It was lovely!

If you are looking for a sound proof hotel, this is not the case. We were lucky to have had great neighbours who did their best to speak silently to not disturb us. We did the same. But still we could hear each other from behind the wall. Anyway, it did not spoil the feeling we had from the whole stay.

The rooms were perfectly set up for us as a couple traveling with a toddler. The location was amazing with loads of food around us and not a far walk to things like the hop on hop off bus'. Was very easy to find and the staff were amazing with my toddler. Helping us when we needed it with pram, of is he was upset putting kids shows on or lollies. Would recommend this to anyone who just needs a good base to stay at and not needing about the fancy things like pools and spas.

The breakfast menu was a little limited, but this wasn't a big deal as we had like 100 restaurants and cafes to pick from just meters from the hotel. We also stayed valentines day night, the walls are a little thin and we could hear all the activities going on next door which was rather awkward and annoying when there were SHHHH signs everywhere, we did our best to keep noise and our toddler noise level to a minimum. But ultimately just don't book any hotel over valentines time.

The staff were exceptional. They were very friendly and so helpful especially Claudia! She was always willing to help us, providing us with all the information we needed. She made us feel so welcome as she always had a smile when we came back to the hotel and made our stay feel special! The rooms were lovely and clean, it was a nice and quiet location but still accessible to shops and trains.

Location couldn't have been better; we were practically opposite the Vatican and near delicious restaurants and brunch spots. All other attractions were a mere 10 min Lime bike away.

The bathroom could be bigger and for those girls who like an 'at-home' blow-out, I'd recommend bringing your own hairdryer. The hairdryer was very basic - which isn't a criticism more of an observation.

Excellent location (Vatican proximity, metro & bus stations nearby, still walking distance to old town districts), quiet street, a lot of restaurants in the walking distance, spacious room (superior), nice fitout, comfortable bed, comfortable regulation of room heating in winter, kettle to make tea, fridge, friendly staff

frankly speaking there is nothing to complain, perhaps some elements in the bathroom may need some refreshment soon

Hotel situated in an excellent location positive reviews from other guests who have stayed at the hotel are accurate. Only a few stops away on the train from the main centre of the city of Rome, therefore, the area is mainly residential . However, within a 10 minute walk and you are outside the Vatican walls and amongst other tourists. Close by to local amenities e.g mini market, restaurants and underground station. Regarding hotel, friendly and helpful staff, room is clean with daily housekeeping - therefore my stay was enjoyable and comfortable - I will stay again many thanks😊

Very nice and clean room, in a beautiful historic building with fresh renovation. Comfortable bed, big bathroom. The staff was exceptionally polite and helpful, they gave me some useful tips about the city and allowed me to store my luggage at the reception for a few hours when I was checking out. Location is also good, clean and beautiful district, right next to Vatican City and Castel Sant'Angelo, has a lot of restaurants and various shops nearby.

The windows faced the street, so with the windows open it was a bit noisy, but not terrible.

The location is excellent only 8-10 mins max to St Peter’s basilica or Vatican, 5 mins to nearest metro ottaviano, so very convenient to get around the whole city. Our room was the only triple room they have apparently and was very spacious/modern & clean. Rained on a couple of occasions and they provided some umbrellas for us to borrow, so that was a nice little touch also. There’s a plenty of cafés & restaurants all within walking distance so that made it easy for breakfast or evening dinner local if you prefer rather then going in to the central part. Would definitely recommend & stay here again for sure

Friendly, very helpful upon arrival and throughout our stay(Thanks Anca). Large, high ceiling room, very clean, tidy, comfortable and quiet. Plenty of nice eateries close by. Close to Deli's. Close to Vatican, Castel SanťAngelo and Metro (easy to get to & from Colesseum etc). Easy place to get around. Would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to do with Eccelso, roadworks nearby at the time. Happening everywhere around Roma. Fridge could be slightly bigger(nitpicking here)
