The staff are excellent and always smiling. Trong Nguyen (the hotel manager) is clearly very passionate about his job. He made himself available by WhatsApp and told me to contact him if I had any issues. The Yen Residence also offers a travel/tour based service, which I highly recommend that you use. They were very transparent and didn't try to upsell or inflate the price. Mr Nguyen arranged everything from my boat trip to my departure ride. Everything was hassle free. They even helped find me a gym in the area and locked in the price. The hotel is lovely, with very spacious rooms. I loved the high ceilings and proper black out curtains. The mattress is on the softer side for Vietnam, so some of you may really like this. As for the facilities, the rooftop pool has beautiful views. I literally had the pool to myself every morning! The roof top also offers a nice patio and seating area. The morning breakfast was awesome. Everything from fresh fruits, bacon, sausage, eggs, fried rice, fried noodles. Coffee, tea and juices. It's hard to beat the value here. The beach is about 10-15mins walk which was perfect for me. There are constantly shuttles whizzing by which will get you there in minutes.

Super nice and big room, very comfortable, own kitchen, big fridge, bathroom is really nice as well and has 2 shower heads, one is a rain shower head. Water pressure is good and you don't have to wait for the water to get warm. Staff is friendly, you can arrange cruises to Ha Long Bay here or book transportation to your next destination. You walk abt 10 mins to the beach. Since it's a very empty area it's pretty quiet, so you can open your windows without having to worry abt noise.

Hooks in the bathroom would be nice. No utensils in the kitchen and no plates etc., so we could not cook anything. Location isn't so good since it's like a ghost town there. Empty buildings everywhere, no people around, no supermarkets or entertainment close by. There was one café that was open and good but other than that there was nothing there. Breakfast is from 6:30 am to 9:30 am which is way too early in my opinion, and it wasn't good either. Not enough options but since there aren't many tourists around, I get it.

The Yen Residences is a beautiful place. It seems brand new and everything was very clean and nice. More importantly is the excellent service provided at reception by NaNa. She provides all the needed information on Ha Long cruises, buses and things to do in the area. The Yen is a very nice hotel

This location is in a very quiet neighborhood since it is still under construction. Late night there are no shops or convenience stores open so be aware. Breakfast options were great. Staff were very welcoming.

Very comfortable room and a brand new hotel - great location to take a cruise on ha long bay. Just a few restaurants in walking distance and you can get a pizza delivery delivered if you arrive late. Breakfast was fabulous We got a really cheap deal and had a suite at £12 per night so we were very happy

A little difficult to find. Our van transfer had to phone ahead to find the hotel as it’s set in a residential complex on the outside of town. It is not near the beach and Google maps didn’t find it

The staff where amazing, they organized a boat trip at a cheaper price than online and VIP bus to hanoi at no additional charge. I left some items behind in the hotel and they had them shipped to hanoi for me within 4 hours. I've never had such helpful staff in a hotel.

The area is very quiet in the low season but that will be the same in all hotels.

We found the hotel comfortable, modern, spacious and really clean. The bed was really comfortable and the tv was a smart tv which meant we could put on YouTube and Netflix at night which was nice. The hotel organised our 4 star cruise day trip which was great and the company collected us and dropped us back to the hotel after the trip.

During our stay there was a lot of construction going on next door to the hotel which started from around 7am which was extremely noisy, especially during our breakfast each morning. The shower in the room had really bad drainage which lead to the water running out onto the bathroom floor. The area in which the hotel is situated is really beautiful but on the other hand a ghost town with lots of empty buildings. Other than the construction happening next door the place is situated in a quiet area and I'm sure the construction (loud noise) is only temporary.

The rooms were amazing, clean and comfortable. Quite large too. Staff were so friendly and the man on the reception desk spoke very good English and was helpful with Information about the town. The location is good, in a nice quiet part of the town, and very close by taxi to busier areas. Close to the beach and heaps of food places within a short walk. Overall very happy with stay. Thank you ^^

My only downside and why I moved the review from a 10 to a 9 was because the breakfast was cold. I could tell it was cooked well, but the eggs, bacon and sausage was cold, and sitting on a tray with no way to warm it up. If this is improved, I would rate 10/10.

Rooms were very spacious, beds were really comfortable. All the facilities were top notch, location excellent. Breakfast was delicious, rooftop pool very nice. Special thanks to the owner who was extremely kind and helpful, he helped us organise excursion and transfer to next destination for much better price than you would find around. I don't think you would find better accommodation for the price in the area, definitely recommended!

Everything was great
