Proximity to all the places that we planned to visit.

This was room 2 of 2. Requested them to be close together. Received a confirmation that they would be able to have them close, but not adjoining. Great. When we arrived: 1 room was first floor at one end of the building, second room was upstairs at the opposite end. The desk clerk was able to move the second room to 4 doors from ours. Which worked out well. Glad we arrived early enough for him to do this. 4 days that far from my daughter and granddaughter would not have been pleasant. I thanked the young man, but lost my note with his name. Very nice young man.

The pool was great.

The address given with the hotel was not correct. We drove around town and couldn't find it. I called the hotel and she gave me the correct address and directions. She said "I don't know why it does that sometimes." A couple of kids ball teams were booked there. They took over the breakfast room and we couldn't get to the food. I walk with a cane and my son-in-law uses a wheelchair, so it was almost impossible to get to the food, what was left of it, with all those kids.

Convenient, friendly employees, property was clean

There was a smell in our room, told front desk. They brought some air freshener spray. Later the smell came back for my husband pulled the filter from AC and cleaned it out and like magic the smell was gone!! The filters need to be cleaned!! I have allergies and was having issues until the vent was cleaned!

Good location for Mount Rushmore, rooms were comfortable and a good temperature despite the cold outside. Included breakfast in the morning was a good selection of items and set us up for the day. Worth visiting the Frontier bar almost opposite to get food and drinks, excellent quality and good selection of items and friendly welcome.

The staff was very nice, gracious, and interactive. The local was ideal.

The breakfast person started putting chairs on tables before 9 am, and guests were still coming to the breakfast room. She could have said, "Please come on in. I just started to close because there several empty tables." That way guests still felt welcome. No food should be removed prior to 9 am, also muffins would be great! My observation did not affect my party, but others.

Found it on booking.com and by driving by last year during the Rally we normally stay in a cabin but decided to try this motel and we were not disappointed at all the staff is amazing so helpful and accommodating, warm and caring and friendly. Room was clean and breakfast was good anytime we asked for anything we had it immediately I would definitely stay again

I hated I had to leave….

I liked the staff; The breakfast was okay and the re-stocking was done well; The location was fine for getting to the important sights.

We were in a first floor room and the room overhead had people walking around well into the night aand also dropped something that woke us up!

The staff was lovely, The beds were very nice, the room was clean. Nice laundry area.

The breakfast food was bad,so bring your own food. They don't clean the room during your stay, and it was fine, but it would have been nice to have the trash taken out at least.

The room was clean, and met all our needs. The breakfast was simple, but quite good, and just what we needed. The location was very nice - close enough to town that you could walk into Custer if you wanted. Also, close enough to various activities that we felt like we could come back to the hotel during the day if needed. Very close to Custer State Park - including Sylvan Lake, the Wildlife Trail, and Iron Mnt Road. Prairie Berry Winery is nearby. Maybe 20 mins to Rushmore. Less than 10 mins to Crazy Horse. Keystone is a bit further, but that was overly touristy so we avoided Keystone. Custer is a cute, tiny town, with a little bit of shopping, some good restaurants, and good coffee at Wicked Espresso, and Calamity Jane's. Very nice that this hotel is dog friendly! Plenty of grass in front of hotel for potty breaks, and well lit grass at nice.

The ceiling tiles in the bathroom, over the shower, looked to have suffered water damage. Replacing just a few of those ceiling tiles would have made a big difference in the overall presentation of the room.

Hotel lacked an elevator which didn't affect us too much but would be difficult for older travelers with heavy luggage.

The whirlpool tub in our room had the wrong type of faucet, it was a sink faucet with an aerator which is meant to restrict the water flow. Tubs don't use aerators, it takes too long for them to fill the tub.
