Spring Creek Inn is not the fanciest but in the black hills of South Dakota you don't need fancy. Spring Creek Inn is clean, comfortable and cozy. It's just outside of the town of Hill City so while you're there you'll feel like you're in the wilderness. Every time I plan a trip to the black hills which is several times every summer I stay at the Spring Creek Inn. My biggest pet peeve with hotels is that when they automatically charge you for "incidentals" and then your bill ends up being more than advertised. I've never had this problem with this place.

There isn't anything I didn't like.

The location was beautiful! We enjoyed the fire pit and used it to roast brats. Room was cozy and clean. Location was close to all the things we wanted to see.

Parking was a little problematic since we were traveling with a person in a wheelchair and bathroom was a little small for the same reason. We requested information on this when booking and was told it could be accommodated so was hoping for more such as grab bars etc. but we were able to make it work.

I had a fantastic stay at Spring Creek Motel. The property is beautiful, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, making my stay very enjoyable. The location is perfect, situated in a charming city that adds to the experience. I highly recommend this motel for anyone looking for a peaceful and pleasant stay.

What we expected from a locally owned small hotel. Very knowledgeable and always there to help and recommend places to eat and go. Super nice and friendly! We got to sit outside the hotel room, leave the door open and talk to the other guests sitting outside their rooms. The kids ran around outside in the large grassy area playing. They were out of sight which was ok with us since they are older. Location was fantastic to take all of our day trips. Price was perfect and with a kitchenette and available grills we didn’t break the bank while exploring an area deciding if we would be back on another vacation. This location is not luxury but it is clean, relaxing, and a bit of old school mom and pop motel that we would definitely stay at again and recommend.

Maybe kitchenette stocked with some spices for cooking. We left the salt and pepper we bought for the next guest.

My family and I had been on the road for a week! We stayed at numerous places on our journey that were absolutely disgusting! This place was a breath of fresh air! The facility was clean, our room was clean, the staff was amazing! We will definitely be staying here every time we come to the area! And will be recommending it to all or friends and family!

Location, kitchenette

The 1st room we received had some water, plumbing issues, smelled odd, and the bathroom was a little below par on cleanliness. No kitcenette either. The next morning I asked to change rooms, and was readily allowed to change to the room next door - which was the room, set-up and cleanliness I expected.

family owned and family friendly. The room was a bit outdated but that also made it feel homey, like an old family cabin. The beds and sheets were soft and very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. Make sure to visit their official greeter a sweet white dog named Bella. There are also some friendly cats that wander around and enjoy attention and treats! Also watch for deer visiting near the back deck and Canadian honkers.

There are a few minor repairs that could use some attention.

Breakfast n/a, the decor was perfect! Bed was comfy, the outside was magnificent loved the view. Safe location!!! Great for families and the local cat was just what my husband needed 😊 the cleaning lady was sweet, Maria. Only negative was the bleach smell but we aired that out and understand it’s a summer only business. We had a lovely time!

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Good location for us. Family owned and friendly staff. Enjoyed sitting outside by the fire pit, playing corn hole and the very loving cat.

Shower Water could be a little more warmer and refrigerator a little more colder. Over all no complaints.

Cozy little place, hosts were very friendly! Kuerig coffee makers and excellent coffee ☕️ loved the lovely hanging baskets add a quaint charm. Location is excellent close to everything.

I think they are trying to upgrade rooms, some are still a little outdated, parking is challenging.
