Pretty much everything about this hotel was great. The location was close to all of the attractions that we wanted to see and we were able to walk into town to go to the shops and restaurants there. The staff were all super nice. Room refreshment was by request only, which we actually prefer because we were in and out of our room at different times of the day so to not have to worry about returning while someone was refreshing our room was great for us. The breakfast was great, same thing every day but enough options for us. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The toiletry products they provided were all Dove brand, which I love, so that was a nice touch.
The pool was on the cold side and the hot tub wasn’t very hot either. The dryers in the laundry room took a very long time to dry our clothes, but we only had to do laundry once so this was not a big deal. And the only ice machine that worked was the one on the ground floor. The biggest complaint of our stay is that our room was on the far end of the hotel so we parked at the back lot and would usually just take the back stairs to our room on the 3rd floor. But if we needed to take the elevator, there was only one and it was on the complete opposite end of the building. It was honestly just a minor inconvenience and there’s really nothing that can be done to fix it so it wasn’t a big deal and wouldn’t prevent me from staying here again.

Room was very nice, had plenty of room in it. Front desk staff was very friendly and always helpful. Breakfast was really good also. Facility was very clean and well kept.
Had a problem with booking .com Apparently, somehow, on the app, the room was booked twice. So it looked like I had 2 rooms booked, which I did not. Fortunately, the staff was very helpful and assured me that I would not be charged, and they also did not charge me a late cancelation fee. But I was a little alarmed when I had 2 charges pending on my card for both rooms. 1 of course that was finally dismissed after several days. Still a little nerve-racking until those charges were dismissed

Upon arrival we were told I registered for the “big suite”, which I knew, but there was something about how they said it that made me wonder. Then when they questioned how there were only two of us I was really curious about what we were in for. Well, let me tell you - the “big suite” was nothing short of HUGE! And wonderful! The bed was the most comfortable I’ve ever been in at a hotel. There were two living rooms! There was a bedroom on the main level with another in the loft which made for great privacy. It couldn’t be any quieter since there was no one above or below us. The whole experience was very relaxing and wonderful, just what we hoped for! BTW, we figure 8 people could easily be in the big suite but know there is only one bathroom! Almost forgot - breakfast was great! Nice, hot breakfast!
Only one bathroom. Parking could be a little better, a rather smallish lot. That’s really about it.

The hotel was extremely clean and was geared toward vacationers, with picnic tables and outdoor seating available, and board games in the lobby. It was peak season at a vacation destination, and they easily managed the large number of people staying there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and our room was very comfortable. The pillows were amazing! The bathroom was roomy with space to move around, and I know it is a little thing, but the fan does not come on with the light switch, so you don’t have that awful roar every time the light was turned on. We also noticed that the ac/heating unit was quieter than most (probably because this hotel is so new), and I’m a light sleeper so I enjoyed that. (It’s the little things, right?) Also, even though lots of families were staying there and our room was opposite the elevator, we really didn’t hear much noise from adjacent rooms or the hallway at all! Coffee was available 24/7, and we appreciated that.
The coffee bar is in the lobby, which is nice and handy, but there were tables in front of it (out of necessity, since the adjacent breakfast area was well used) which made it difficult to get to the coffee in the mornings when people were eating there. I honestly don’t know what a better solution would be, since they are simply trying to accommodate many visitors and are set up really well to do that.

Staff, location, breakfast
It would have been nice to have a place to sit outside. It seemed that the places were designed for smokers. There was no covered area. To sit outside and with the weather being relatively nice. It would have been nice to have sat outside and had a beer or some snacks rather than staying inside, but there was nowhere. Nowhere to be would really like to see some relaxing leisure outside place

We needed somewhere to stay after a day of driving before hitting Mount Rushmore. This property fitted the brief and was a pleasant stop for the night.
Breakfast was included which was great but it was quite chaotic - the seating is terribly set up 9bad choice of shape for tables and type of chairs to fit and maximise the space) and its difficult for people to access food while others are moving and seated. The offering itself for breakfast was pretty standard and always nice when included as it makes an easier start to the day.

Having stayed a many hotels, this is one of the best values I've ever encountered! The room rate was very reasonable and for the price I was not expecting much. But, this property far exeeded my expectations. The rooms felt updated, very clean, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast was standard for a hotel but had some additional options that were a hit with my kid (big win). The location and proximity to the town was 10/10 - everything was walking distance. I would stay here again and for much longer!

We stayed for 4 nights at this hotel. The town of Hill City is adorable, and we rode the train there and did a few other things around the area. So it was nice for the time we were there.
Their breakfast. I wasn't sure what was in those eggs or the biscuits and gravy, I took one bite and tossed it into the trash. I stuck w/ yogurt and toast after that. I wanted a cup of coffee for the road, but their coffee thermal pot seemed to always be empty.

Cleanliness, amenities, location. Location, not just to the town but to all the surrounding landmarks as well.
The indoor pool was really cold. The hot tub water was not very clean and both were overly chlorinated. Also, I had to do a load of laundry and it took an 1 1/2 hours and $4 just to dry my one load.

Super friendly staff. We had to do some laundry and they had quarters for us to use and a gave us some detergent on the house. Breakfast was filling. Rooms were very spacious! We had 2 queen beds in our room and brought our own little cot. We had more than enough room still. We were traveling with 3,10 and 16 year old. Never felt cramped.
Super soft pillows, if that’s not your style I suggest to bring your own.
