We really enjoyed the indoor and outdoor pool, and the hot tub. It was also nice having activities to do when we were just hanging around the Inn. There is pickle ball, basketball, chalk to draw on the sidewalk, throw/catch games, and the board games and old arcade games were fun too. They even have everything you need to do laundry..for free!

We wished the TV was a smart TV so that we could connect to our Netflix account and watch shows/movies that we wanted to watch. We had to scroll through the channels and watch commercials the old school way. We also wished the Internet was better. It was not good at all. I guess if you’re wanting to completely get away from technology, it’s a good thing :-)

Would have liked a room on bottom floor due to knees and stairs. However the room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Free laundry was a bonus. Was never around for cookie happy hour but I heard it was excellent. Lots of extra touches make this a very unique hotel. Henrietta was such a treasure and very knowledgeable about the area. Very nice hotel and grounds. Wish we could have stayed longer. The breakfast next door was not as I would have expected and a bit pricey but there was free apples!!! Coffee was excellent.

Would have preferred a ground floor room.

🌷This little gem is absolutely the cutest, coziest and most thoughtful place we have ever stayed!! Every single detail…the beautiful flowers; the delicious food; the perfect collection of books, video games, board games & huge floor games; the calming pool, sauna & hammock areas; the kind messages & darling decor everywhere you look; the extra sweet staff and it’s pup-friendly! I can’t give this place enough stars!! Perfectly located in Custer, central to many restaurants, activities and parks! Do yourself a favor, and the next time you’re in the Black Hills, stay here at the Bavarian Inn!!🌷

Nothing!!

Every room had a little patio or balcony area with a little table and two chairs. It was lovely sitting on the balcony sipping coffee in the morning and relaxing in the evening. Lots of amenities and a charming cafe next door with excellent food and coffee. Property is also close to downtown and very easy to get around the Black Hills and Custer State Park from. Staff was very friendly, supportive and helpful. A super charming Inn and very nice stay 😊

I liked everything.

The hotel has a nice comfortable setting. Pretty pool and a pickle ball court and nice chairs on your patio to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. The breakfast in the cafe was good and the staff were very pleasant. It was a perfect place to stay for visiting and touring Jewel Cave early the next morning. Quite frankly, it was probably the best hotel Custer had to choose from after looking at the competition.

First, it is an older hotel, although well maintained for the age. The walls are thin and it is dog friendly in ALL the rooms. If you have allergies it is not the place for you. We had barker next to us and I did complain. Also the inside windows on the door of our room were full of dog slobber 3 feet high. I complained about that as well and was provided with cleaning product and towel to clean the windows. (I did not charge them for that service) They did address the two issues, which we appreciated.

The pickleball courts were amazing and had lights to continue playing at night. The pool was awesome and corn hole was a great addition. There were so many fun activities to do to keep busy, but the location was so great that there was hardly any downtime. They have a cookie happy hour with fresh cookies and milk!! The restaurant next door is phenomenal and the food was amazing both days we stayed. We would absolutely come back.

This hotel is wonderful. The staff is great, the property is so cute, clean and well maintained. There are so many details that do not go unnoticed! The location is so convenient and easy access to everything. The pools are nice. We did the nighttime cookies and milk for our last night and it was just the cutest thing! It really is the little things! The cafe on the property is great. Good food and drinks and also wonderful staff. Rooms are also clean, fridges and microwaves, nice beds and pillows.

Lovely hotel in Custer with friendly staff, excellent rooms and good facilities. The property is just outside the main part of Custer (a 5min drive). There is a nice pool and hot tub, and free laundry facilities. The room is large and bed comfortable. Just wish we had more time to enjoy the other things the property offers!

Doesn't include breakfast, but they have a cafe on site (though we just went to the supermarket).

Individually owned and operated. Accommodating, complementary laundry room machines and soap. Free homemade cookies and milk delivered daily to your room or at night. Warm heated pool and spa. The decor is bright and cheery outside inviting and offers retro video games on the lobby. Convenient location to the area National parks and towns. We will be booking more days. Thank you!

I absolutely loved staying here. The room was bright and clean and inviting. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Extra bonus points for the exceptional service of the staff. I made a mistake with my booking, and the owner fixed it on his end without any hassle. The rest of the staff were happy and friendly. This is not a chain hotel. It is very personal and warm. The decor is so cute. We are planning a return trip to the area and we will be staying here!
