Views are amazing, and the cosy feel.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, with incredible views. The staff were lovely and friendly. The only issue is my room. Which was off the breakfast area and looked like a cave inside. There wasn't much opportunity for fresh air as I didn't want to leave my window open when not in the room. There was also a strange smell similar to stale sweat. Which was not pleasant. Areas around the base of the toilet could benefit from a good scrub. I think if you stay in another room that is not off the breakfast area, it might be better. These rooms are dark, and because of this, they are not pleasant.

This is one of the best views (and locations) from a hotel we ever had. When we went out of the room, we had a shared terrace from where we could see the river, bridge, city, houses on the mountainside, and the castle. It was a breathtaking place that we would have enjoyed to stay at even longer. You can walk 2 min and then be standing in the old city. There is a rooftop estaurant/bar above the hotel with panoramic view where we could keep enjoying the view and have drinks in the evening. The hotels interior is build into the mountain which makes it astounding from the moment you arrive. The staff is really nice. We had a good breakfast where there were something for everyone. The room was comfortable and big.

The breakfast could use a little change in something new to the table for people staying there for more than one or two days, so it doesn't get borring. The room was a bit dark, it could have been nice with some bedlights. There are no trash can only the one in the bathroom. We had no fridge, which would be pretty nice in the heat, so it's possible to have some cold water through the day without having to go to the store or restaurant. There is no shower curtain in the bathroom, so the toilet and the floor do get wet after a shower.

Great location with views from terrace across to old town. No sounds from the city centre as we were on the other side of the river in Gorica but still very accessible. The room had only one small window wbich looked out on to the breakfast terrace, so we had to keep curtain closed. This made the room dark and cave like, but as it was so hot in Berat - 39c - this was quite welcome with the air conditioning on!

The advertised shared terrace was actually the breakfast terrace, so there was no private outside area. However, the terrace was very pleasant and we weren't too disturbed by guests having an early breakfast or talking late at night.

Lovely hotel in Berat with stunning views over the ‘city of a thousand windows’. Kind hosts. Charming old corridors in a nice building. The room is rather simple, but the bed is large and comfortable, and the balcony is beautiful. Nice traditional breakfast.

A few more shelves or surfaces (also in the bathroom) would be helpful. The whole bathroom tends to get completely wet when showering, but that’s quite typical in Albania

Parking was easy to find in the dedicated layby next to the hotel. Excellent location, just across the bridge from town. Room had good aircon. Breakfast was a nice spread with bread, cheese and veg, cereal, omlette slices and fruit. I managed to find enough that seemed gluten free and they cooked some fresh eggs for me to eliminate the possibility of contamination.

Room was basic but given the cost and we were only staying for one night, this was not an issue. Staff did not offer up information about the local area, but there was some posters around reception about trips.

Very beautiful place, in the heart of the city

The bar / restaurant (for which I understood is unrelated to the hotel) asks 3% more if you pay by card. To cover their costs they say, nevermind that we as customers already pay our share too. When asked them to write that 3% in the bill they said they can't. Thus, we just finished our drinks and left. ---- Unrelated to the hotel though, they just share the place and name I got told.

Easy to find and park. Beautiful old building but seemed new! Great views of the river and the "windows" and castle. It was an easy walk across the bridge to the old town. It is a steep walk to the castle just so you know! Breakfast was great, outside looking out at the town. Super nice bathroom (shower and toilet in one room so it gets wet). We had a nice dinner on the roof to watch the lights turn on the bridge and buildings. I would definitely stay again.

best view of old town Berat. Easy walking distance. Decent parking. The place has steep stairs even to get to the receoption. Negotiating stairs up to restaurant would be a challenge for elderly or handicapped. But for those of us that can do it, it is so Berat. Stone rooms.

There was a distinct cat spray smell in my room. The room was clean, but the smell was almost unbearable.

Hotel Ajka is beautiful. We really enjoyed our stay...Berat was our first stop in Albania and this area and hotel was a really nice introduction. Pack light as there are some stairs to climb to get to reception but it is worth it. The room was comfortable, the views were amazing and the breakfast was delicious. Could not fault it...very homely feel. Great restaurant and bar on the top floors above hotel...would 100% stay here again <3

Very nice location, right near the center. Friendly staff. Great breakfast buffet. Easy to park.

There was no curtain for the window in the bathroom and it was facing the street. The shower was right next to the toilet and there was no glass/curtain, so water got all over the bathroom when showering. Other than that, great stay.
