Absolutely perfect location. Staff is stellar! Room is very comfortable, clean, and wonderfully charming. Affordable and wonderful accommodations. So many places to choose from in carmel but this is a nice choice. Close to everything! The chocolate chip cookies and coffee were delicious.

The bathroom set up was not ideal for a "roomate" situation because there is no real door on the bathroom, just in the bedroom and hallway leading to the bathroom/ bedroom. But we were able to make it work and think all of the rooms are different. I hear they are also going to be renovating soon.

This was our second stay at the Wayside Inn and again we were most pleased with the service, the room, the comfort of the bed was great ,and the location of the Inn was perfect. The only negative this visit was that we were on the first floor and the family above us had a young child and we could hear her during the night crying out to her parents and when her parents walked on the floor, it creaked fairly loud. The reception staff were very friendly and approachable and made us feel very welcome and appreciated.

We had asked for a quiet room and in hindsight, I wish they had placed us on the second floor for the reason I mentioned above.

Carmel is a fabulous place to visit and the hotel was in a good location. The room was well equipped with a pod style coffee maker, mini fridge, nice bath products, good shower. There was a complimentary metal water bottle. The lobby had coffee, good cookies, and apples available any time of the day. The staff were helpful. There was a quiet time after 10 pm which we appreciated. There was no breakfast but there was a great bakery with coffees right next to the hotel.

The furniture and carpet were pretty run down and old. The staff said they were heading into a renovation, so hopefully this review will be outdated soon.

The Wayside Inn was a really wonderful stay for our family. The location in the heart of Carmel really can't be beat, very close to the shops and about a 15 minute walk to the beach on Ocean Ave. Our King suite was spacious and comfortable. The bed was really comfy, and the kitchen was very useful for having some DIY meals in the room as opposed to eating out every meal.

Not much. Parking in the lots is not guaranteed, but we didn't have any significant issues.

its a small boutique inn at a great location. It i walking distance to every attraction point. Just a lıttle bit far from the beach but its like just 15-20 mins walk, we went by car because we have little kids. We had a great check in and check out experience, there was a very nice friendly host who welcomes us. The hotel offers fresh bakery and coffee in the lobby area. There is ice and water machine where you can always make refills. The room was very well sized , very comfortable. Our overall experience was much better than we expected. Thansk .

The check in was very pleasant. We were offered an upgrade without even a request. There were complimentary reusable water bottles waiting in the room. Complete kitchen facilities. Basic utensils. We were also allowed to park in their lot hours before check-in. Check-in clerk also helped with a minor first aid situation. Cheers!!!!

Nothing. OK, maybe if it was cheaper, but that is my default. It was well worth the money in expensive Carmel. Come to think of it, if they had a sedan chair to carry us through town, that might be nice.

Amazing location!! Stay exceeded expectations and we were so pleased with our experience. Room is spacious. Loved the complimentary coffee and cookies in the lobby. Booked as a last minute getaway to celebrate husband's birthday and we had a fantastic time. Will definitely stay again next time in Carmel. Loved that parking (when available) was included.

The room was nice. Fireplace was on entire time we were in the room enjoyed that. Kitchen stocked with everything you need. Bed was way soft but turned out slept well. Over all it was a wonderful stay.

The bathroom had a very strong smell of mildew. I don’t care for stairs as I’ve had knee replacements.

It was a quick overnight with friends. Location was great and our room was just right. Not the lap of luxury but a solid value considering location. Parking can be a challenge but that's all over Carmel. Would stay again!

Our room was a bit warm but to be fair we didn't look for a thermostat or AC. Just sat on the patio a bit.

Location was wonderful! The room had some very nice amenities which all worked great - microwave, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, bathrobes to name a few. It was very comfortable. The fireplace was so nice to have on our rainy stay. There was also a jacuzzi tub which I didn't expect, but it was sure nice to have. We had a really great time on our stay and I would recommend to others.

A lot of pros about this place - about the only con I might say is the living room was dark (it was how our room was situated - not much natural light in that area) and the furniture was dated and not the most comfortable. This was a pretty small thing when compared to all the other plusses this place offers.
