The staff were so helpful and lovely. Special mention to the receptionist who had me in fits of giggles and should have a raise for how fabulous she is. The view from our room was beautiful. I loved the hand painted art on the corridor to our room, and though it's a listed building, it had up to date plugs and lights. Breakfast was delicious, and for an older style hotel had vegan and veggie options. So many don't. It allows dogs in, which I consider a huge plus. Shout out to the guest with a dog called gaspode who we chatted with about books with the receptionist!

The room was rather small, and the mattress was a bit old I think as was a bit clonky when I rolled.

Location, all staff, communal areas lovely. Breakfast. Relaxed atmosphere. The views were spectacular. Peaceful. Great easy free parking. Didn't need car at all. Owner was lovely and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Coffee was weak. Personally mattress too soft and springy. Room very hot. Small windows didn't let in enough air. Would need a fan or aircon in summer months. Our room needed refurb but didn't spoil our stay Garden would be great tidied up. Wouldnt take much. Few plants and get rid of old tables at the end of garden. On arrival loads of rubbish in doorway didn't bode well on first impressions.

The location was great - I managed to have parking directly outside which was very handy. The room was a nice sea view, pleasant décor and felt very cosy for a single working person. Staff were very friendly.

The room was fairly cold at times and it would have been a good option to get a little warmer - I arrived very late (after work) so I prob should have contacted the hotel to ask for a heater but after midnight the room was chilly. Ideally a single traveller likes a double lock on the door (a chain) just to feel a little safer but I appreciate this may be a health and safety issue. The shower - it was difficult to get the taps on round the glass curtain I must admit.

Loved the location & views. Staff were all absolutely lovely. Reception staff, breakfast staff, housekeepers, everyone we met were polite and friendly. The lift is tiny, but, as someone with restricted mobility, I was very grateful for it. Breakfast was nice enough. Decor downstairs was nice and fresh looking.

Bedroom carpet was very faded and stained. The bathroom is perfectly usable but a little tired. We're not people to be out late, so we were glad of the tv, but it was very small but did the job. The shower went extremely hot and cold unexpectedly and was frustrating to use. The parking was tricky (visited in March). In all honesty, we had a really lovely time away and enjoyed our stay and the beautiful location. 😊

When we have stayed before it was excellent however on this occasion the room was rather tired with a number of minor simple repairs required such as hanging the curtains properly( with sufficient hooks) and repairing damaged paint around the window panes. Also due to a number of events happening in the area parking was horrendous and we had to park several streets away, but this was not the hotels fault and they very kindly complimented us a couple of drinks at the bar which was appreciated.As before staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent and tasty.

Traditional seaside B&B, very friendly staff. Stayed in a twin ground floor room with sea side view... Lovely on the sunny day, sat with the window open. Location great... Near beach, town centre and lots of good spots to eat. Lovely private front garden and back garden unfortunately weather a bit hit and miss so didn't use... Bar looked very nice and open to residents and public... Breakfast, hot breakfast great. Cereals, toast, yoghurt and 2 types of fruit... Tea and nice filter coffee... Freshly made for you on. Arrival. Good value... Very happy visit!

I do like a latte, not available but lots of coffee shops near by, so not a major problem.

One of the most comfortable stays in Exmouth I've had, High Quality Bed, extremely comfortable. Facilities were mostly on point, the Staff were helpfully and Excellent in all respects, and the included breakfast was perfect, Location and parking worked very well and the hotel has a excellent front and back garden which my Dog really loved exploring.

None of this would put me off going again as the important aspects of the stay were excellent but that said the room was a little outdated, which was most apparent when cistern dripped, and the hot water took a long moment to get going early morning (both of which I could easily remediate)

I have stayed a few times to visit my mother and when she passed away last month we booked the hotel for a celebration of her life - we had 6 rooms booked too. The staff are all amazing and couldn't do enough to help us - they tolerated our noisy family evening and our takeaway food. This is a hotel that may not be perfect but makes an effort. Great location and def worth paying for a sea view. The breakfast is fab.

A lot of effort has been made to upgrade the hotel and the decor is lovely. The rooms are a bit small (book a twin it is bigger) and the showers are quite antiquated but no doubt will get upgraded in time. It is all forgiveable given the price and the welcome.

The view from the hotel itself was stunning of the sea out front & a super maintained front garden too! The back garden didn't look as stunning, but it is mid November! The decor was stunning & colourful!! Clean & tidy, lovely staff breakfast room also did not dissapoint, nor tldid the food!! Tasty fresh & good choice too! Toast, jam's & marmite etc, cereal, fruit juices, tea coffee, prunes, grapefruit, full English or veggy or what ever u fancy! So for example I had poached egg, they were perfect & the eggs were amazingly fresh & locally sourced, mushroom, grilled tomatoes & beans!! Very nice indeed! Sausage & bacon also locally sourced! I would recommend a stay to all!! A short walk to the beach & to the town! My 1st time in exmouth & will definitely be returning & I will be rebooting Ashton court hotel!!

The only thing I didn't like was how small the bathroom was! The shower itself wasn't to bad but if you stepped out the shower there was very little room to get dry comfortably in the privacy of the bath room as you are knocking the walls or tripping over the toilet. But I can only speak of the room we were in of course

Easy to find. Good location. Friendly greeting on arrival. Clean.

Parking was a challenge. Room was good enough for a couple of nights. View at the back of a flat roof, roof lights, houses and air handling machinery was quite disappointing but I guess we can't all have a sea view. The room was quite dark with just one small window. Aforesaid machinery was quite noisy. Breakfast coffee was grim, as was the sausage which tasted particularly cheap, but the rest of the breakfast was ok.
