It is a small family run business run by Mark and Francesca who have built and maintained this property in a beautiful location with fantastic surroundings within the property. The room we stayed in was fantastic. The property has a well maintained garden and access to the river running alongside with a lovely waterfall. In fact there are 2 waterfalls. The breakfast was fantastic everyday and made our day. Thank you to the whole team.
Couldn’t find anything negative about the property.

Loved the breakfasts! Thought the choice of food and quality was excellent. The evening meal we enjoyed was also delicious - fabulous pastry and pie was packed with chicken filling. Thought the layout and use of space in the room was good for a modest sized room. The ambience of the Waterwheel was lovely- relaxed and friendly. All staff were very friendly and helpful.
We had a bit of a problem juxtaposing humid nights with being unable to leave the window open due to the sounds of traffic from the road. (We live very rurally and aren’t used to traffic sounds at night). Air conditioning or a room fan would have helped. Also found the small en suite basin a bit tricky to use to fill the kettle.

The quality of the breakfast was excellent and the conservatory with views of the grounds a lovely place to start the day. I also liked that there were mugs in the rooms rather than the tiny cups and saucers hotels usually provide. The room and bathroom were both generous with plenty of plug sockets in the right places. However, the best thing about the hotel is that every single member of staff was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I would recommend and stay there again.
I would have preferred that dogs weren't allowed in the dining areas.

The polite staff were always willing to help. The room was beautiful, clean, and had a lovely view over the garden. The breakfast was substantial, and there were a number of choices. The garden was stunning and gad a good path through it.
There wasn't anything major. I think some of the chairs in the restaurant and bar stalls are showing some wear. For my husband, who is a little unsteady on his feet, it would have been great to have a slip mat in the shower. To be honest, everything else was great and made these seem insignificant.

Breakast was very varied with a choice for all tastes. and the house chef is of a high standard with a menu to suit. The room was a small double and that was what it was !
Room 6 has little TV signal. The mattress needs renewing. The shower has a faulty on/off switch The room is opposite the main road, a rushing water stream and a bright street light.

Breakfasts and ALL Evening Meals were superb and the service by ALL of the staff was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and every request was fullfilled to the maximum capability of the staff who had dealt with us.
We found nothing to dislike but if we had to compalin about anything I suppose the room we stayed in was a bit too hot during the evenings - even after having opened the window. Other than that everything was superb.

Such a lovely stay we slept really well with the sound of the river outside. The gardens on the property are beautiful. The breakfast had plenty of options and was great to wake up to. The hosts and staff were all so friendly and helpful.
I would say in our room the hair dryer needs replacing (was only blowing cold air) and there needs to be a mirror (only one in the bathroom). There isn't many decent restaurants near by in S Austell and the owners said they were short staffed at the restaurant so needed to give them notice. So I would head into Charleston or we went to the Ship Inn in Pentewan or Polgooth Inn in Polgooth.

On our arrival Francesca and her staff were very accommodating, we both enjoyed our stay immensely, our double room was airy, bright and comfortable with a great shower, the breakfast every morning was superb and we ate 3 out of the 4 evenings in the restaurant, which was also very good. We both felt very relaxed during our stay, the garden was the best ever, but the warmth from the staff was our no:1.

A very warm welcome from our host. Very large room and bed. Spotlessly clean. Lovely garden with various seating areas. Breakfast was cooked to order. Evening menu was varied and good value for money served by polite and efficient staff. Although on a main road, traffic wasn't noticeable. Ideal location to visit the Eden Project.
