The room was comfortable and tidy. The staff were amazing from check in, nothing was too much trouble. The 2 guys in the bar were funny and helpful. We had amazing service in the restaurant and the food was exceptional. Will be back and would highly recommend. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and a short walk from the spa (well worth going for a swim) and some lovely off-road trails to walk or run.

Some of the fixtures and fittings in the bedroom were showing heavy wear and tear. Nothing that impacted our stay but could do with updating.

All good was excellent. Our room was extremely comfortable. The whole place was very welcoming

It was not made clear when booking that some rooms were a long way from the main facilities. Our room was 225 - as far away as possible ! There was no lift to the second floor, we had quite a lot of luggage. There were a lot of steps and a long corridor to reach our room. We had to do this walk several times a day - we are 74! From our room it was also a very long walk to the spa - from one end of the hotel to the other.

We stayed in one of the lodges on the hotel grounds. Beautifully landscaped and perfectly maintained gardens. The lodges, more like mini villas, were very well-equipped, beautifully designed, and perfectly laid out. We felt at home immediately. We had access to all the hotel facilities. Enjoyed a nice lunch at the restaurant. Good value for money.

Parking options were limited. The lodge had its own parking spot, but it was too narrow and located in an unpaved, muddy corner of the grounds. However, there were plenty of new charging stations available. It was quite a walk to the car with our luggage. We had to do this in the rain, which left everything wet. It would have been better if there had been an option to park in front of or next to the lodge, at least for loading and unloading.

The location was good, and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable . The lady on Reception was helpful. Thank you!

A clearer sign to the Reception entrance from the lower car park would have been helpful -as would a public lift to the upper floor. We treated our local friends to dinner with us, and were hopeful that our meal would be special. It was ok but could, we thought, have been better for the price. It would be wise to make the maintenance of the buildings (ie clearing the guttering) a high priority. We understand and respect the fact that the cost of running a good hotel and restaurant like yours must be scarily high - but such matters do count, and could help to secure your high rating. Good luck!

Had an amazing and relaxing 2 nights here. Beautiful grounds, great spa with clean facilities. Nice pool and steam/sauna. Massage was so relaxing. Large room with lovely balcony overlooking the gardens. Very peaceful. Lovely selection of toiletries and also good selection of tea/coffee. Staff all attentive. Plenty of breakfast items to choose from in a nice setting. Would definitely stay again.

Hate to leave any negative as it was such a lovely stay but... mattress very sunken and abit lumpy. I think it needs replacing. Also, as a smoker I found it such a shame that smoking was not permitted on the balcony. Being outdoors and quite separate from neighbours I can't see why it could not be allowed. I felt that smokers are very much hidden away on the grounds and only allowed in certain areas.

The excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, generally very good facilities, large room with balcony and good views, and the delicious breakfasts. Thanks very much.

The tennis court was unavailable on our visit which was a key reason for choosing this hotel. There were other good facilities instead including table tennis, footgolf and excellent swimming pool but it would have been helpful to know in advance. It would also be great to have a covered bike storage area with higher level rails to lock the bikes against more securely please.

The staff were amazing, always helpful and very pleasant to talk to. I thoroughly enjoyed the Spa and the two treatments were excellent. I would liked a few more gluten free options with the breakfast but the staff did help and I do have quite a few dietary issues so this is not a complaint. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to coming again. I have asked the staff and the Spa to let me know any special offers or deals that you may have in the future. I hope to be bringing a friend to the Spa fairly soon for some more treatments. Thankyou for a lovely stay. I was in great need of a rest and relaxation and that is exactly what you provided .

The hotel was lovely and peaceful, I didnt hear anyone whilst in my room which never happens. Also, the staff in the restaurant were very personable and relaxed which I liked

The breakfast could be improved, I didnt like the help yourself to hot water flasks as they didnt work very well and the cups to put the tea in were too small and cheapy. I much prefer to jabe a pot of tea brought to the table with cup and saucer. Also, would be nice to have continental.breakfast included with room as having to pay again for breakfast doesn't feel as luxurious as knowing a continental breaky is all part of the stay. It makes it less relaxing.

Peaceful (apart from being woken up by children running around and shouting on check out day)

The first lodge we were in reeked of sick and wasn’t very clean with dog biscuits in and under the sofa bed and cobwebs in the wall lights. The second lodge we were upgraded to by the lovely manageress ran out of hot water mid taking a shower. So had to go to the empty lodge next door to finish off my shower.. was looking forward to the roast lunch as we heard so much about it but unfortunately was informed that it wasn’t available so a little disappointed about that. was an eventful weekend after almost everything went wrong for us. Lighting outside the property was almost non existent especially around the hot tub and the path leading up to the lodge (steps) I actually fell over the small steps just outside the lodge.. if there was lighting there I would’ve seen them.

Location and facilities are wonderful. We enjoyed amazing weather, which is always the "icing on a delicious cake". The staff are welcoming and didn't rush us, answering our questions with respect, no matter how "dumb" a question I asked.

Bring an ardent non-smoking/vaping couple, having to dodge clouds, "run the gauntlet", of smoke and sickly sweet vapour, beside the entrance was an off putting welcome. Only to find that the staff were not able to enforce the no-smoking request on the narrow section of the verandah between the beautiful gardens, spatial customer verandah and amazing picturesque planting. We would have preferred a more private separation between the neighbouring balconies of our's and other residents' bedrooms.
