Lovely old property- accommodation was a wing of owner’s home. Comfortable room and en-suite with TV, tea and coffee with kettle and small TV. Good location - opposite an industrial estate but set back from the road and surrounded on 3 sides by fields. Lovely gazebo outside to make the most of the fresh air and fields around if the weather is good. Extremely good value for money - our two rooms on a Monday night cost only slightly more than one room in other properties. Loved the D.H.Lawrence connection. Good WiFi connection. Gym equipment provided in a separate room.
Road was busy and quite noisy. A little impersonal - we arrived without knowing how to get in despite messaging in advance but fortunately the guest door was open and bumped into host inside briefly; then didn’t see anyone again. No reception or point of obvious contact. Breakfast was ‘make your own’- choice of cereal, sliced loaves of bread, packet pain au chocolate and drinks provided in a kitchen area, but not ‘set out’ or laid out. Again, a little impersonal but understandable for the cost. Nowhere to sit comfortably in rooms or kitchen area if you want your relax or socialise. Occasionally felt like you were intruding in someone’s home.

Warm welcome on arrival from the host. The location was perfect for the training course I was attending. The property has a well stocked fitness area with various equipment and free weights. The weather was sunny and this could be enjoyed from an outside area. The room was compact and clean with an ensuite bathroom with a good shower. Small desk available with tea making facilities was provided. A kitchen area was also available to eat/store/make food.
One should understand that it is a compact room with a double bed, for one person it was ok.

Great location, as close to the train station. Comfortable and clean.
I had asked for soya milk before my arrival, as I have an intolerance to cow's milk. Unfortunately it wasn't an option, so I was unable to have tea as I like it in the room or for breakfast. Cereal as part of the breakfast option, was a no go too. It was a nice selection otherwise; different bread (for toasting), lurpak and Jams available and pan au chocolate. Including orange juice and bottled water. Just not great if you have an allergy. So more a little grumble, than I didn't like it. I was able to work around it.

They have a check-in time of 9 pm and stick to it strictly. A very well-run business which sets rules and adheres to them. Make your plans and stick to them and you will get everything you book.
There is nothing to say bout how they keep to the rules. This is admirable in a business that controls everything it does and permits the management to run an efficient business. This may not suit someone who is delayed on a flight or travelling a long distance and has to change en route.

We weren't quite sure what to expect, but the room was excellent value for money. It was clean and tidy, it had all the essentials we needed, and we were very comfortable. The breakfast room is a self-service continental breakfast, and it had everything we required.
My wife always likes lots of milk with her tea, so we like it when there is lots of milk in the room! However the kitchen was close by. Some people might be put off by the location, but we didn't notice any noise from the nearby businesses, and there are pleasant walks in the area.

Was in a really good location decent sized carpark the room was very clean and offered everything that we needed for the stay. I really liked the decor of the bathroom and the homely touches. If I'm being picky I would have liked food to be available at the property but wasn't a massive issue as we just drove the 5 minutes into town and got something for tea. There is breakfast itams available for the morning after. The room was hot but to be expected this time of year but was overall an excellent stay and will definitely be back next time we are in the area.

Great find and superb location and property! Really lovely rooms, clean, cosy and very comfortable. Breakfast was a really lovely touch for those on the go, fresh juice, toast and eggs if you want them. Such value for money given I usually stay at the famous purple hotel that isn’t anywhere near and homely comfortable and clean as Chatterley. I real find for me being away from home every week so will definitely be staying again.
There wasn’t anything I didn’t like everything was just right.

Warm welcome on arrival with all the information we needed. Clean and modern room, the DIY breakfast was also all we needed. Close to M1 so ideal for a short stop-off and plenty in the area to keep you busy.
The bathroom light was on a sensor that was set to switch off after a matter of seconds. We figured out there is a second light above the mirror, so best to use that one instead.

Chatterley House is an amazing hidden gem A . Well, thought out air b&b Richard, the host, was attentive informative and a pleasure to engage with. Every eventuality catered for and nice touches, i.e., brickvic orange juice ,cafetieres ,ground coffee beans, and toiletries. The whole property is clean and very well presented. Well equipped breakfast room with an amply continental selection for breakfast . For those who wish there's a gym too . We were well impressed and will definitely be back when working in area .
We wished to book for next monday and Tuesday but The hidden gem was booked up and couldn't accommodate us . There are no negatives from us .....

Extremely good value for money. Double room with en-suite shower room was very comfortable, although space was at a premium, which did not affect us in the slightest. Breakfast was all self-service in a separate breakfast room which worked very well. The lady host was very welcoming, explained everything very easily, and left us to it which was great. She was available for any queries but we didn't have any! She recommended a couple of local hostelries and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal in one about 8 mins drive away.
