The whole hostel was exceptionally clean. While the room was simple, it was spotless and everything worked great. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfasts had a very good variety of fresh foods and there was ample. I took the dinner option for the first night, while it was simple fare it was very good and the portions were just right.

The mattress on the bed could be more comfortable (had to move around to find a "spot"), and while the windows do open, air circulation was limited - so I would have appreciated a lighter bedding option (the duvet provided was quite heavy - designed for crisper weather, not the heat & humidity of early September)

Convenient and easy check-in. The place is rather clean and offers nice facilities like gaming and reading rooms. It does the job for a short stay. The surroundings are very calm as the hostel is isolated from other buildings, the nearest building is a museum!

The breakfast was below average compared to other hostels in terms of choice. Less options, in particular with bread and cereals and I didn't see fruits (maybe it was a bit early and they didn't receive the order yet).

The dorm was clean, quiet and well kept. The toilets and showers were spotless, really well maintained and totally clean. The breakfast was excellent, and the set menu dinner looked really good value - just remember to book in advance (when you check in online), as I didn’t and they ran out of space! On the whole, I’d say this is good value (for Switzerland) and a good quality hostel.

Unfortunately as it’s quite rainy and hot right now, the dorm smelt a bit… funky, but that’s not their fault (humans / our clothes just smell when the weather is like this!) I would have appreciated curtains in the dorm, as the light in the courtyard was quite bright so it was a bit hard to sleep. I’ve never had to make/ strip my own bedsheets in a hostel before… but there is a first time for everything I guess!

The hostel was impeccably clean and maintained, and staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. The breakfast each morning was excellent as well. Nearby was the lake and a beach for walks, and it was close to the center and EPFL and the metro.

I expected a more hostel-like experience with a kitchen where I could prepare my own food in order to save money. That said, this was something I could have checked online.

Friendly staff. Room and facilities as described. Quiet location. Short walk to bus stop. Good selection bread, cheese and coffee for the breakfast.

Wifi access at the reception and dining room area. You might be able to get wifi signal at your room depending on the location. I wish there is some daily variation of food for the breakfast, because it is the same everyday.

It's my second time here and I'll likely be back. Excellent food, evening meal and buffet breakfast. Large spacious single room. Good location for access to the lake, few minutes walk to nearby grocery stores. Staff super helpful. Dedicated secure bicycle storage.

The facilities were great, the room and bathroom were clean, and the food was delicious. The staff was welcoming and helpful. I got a travel card that I could use for any kind of public transport free of charge, which was a huge thing as it isn't cheap to travel around Lausanne. This was my first time staying at a hostel, and I expected it to be worse, but it was quite pleasant.

I saw a Rat(atouille) in the gardens.

The standard of this place as a youth hostel is excellent. Everything is simple, somewhat brutalist, but I had a double bedroom with my own bathroom and a working desk for two people. I was travelling for a conference at the university campus nearby. I chose this hostel for proximity and price since I paid with my own money and I come from a middle-income country. There is a cosy green patio inside and a wonderful park next to the beach at the Leman Lake across the motorway. The hostel offers a free public transport pass for the entire length of the stay.

Since this is a youth hostel, you may expect some youngsters singing outside until midnight but older folks also happen to stay there. The noise from the motorway can be only heard in the bathroom. There was also no air conditioning in my room -- I stayed in the hottest period and I only covered myself with the sheets. I am not sure if there are heaters in the rooms to warm them up in winter. Please ask the hostel personnel if there are such conveniences.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they were so lovely and made me feel welcome. The location is not bad, close to the lake shore and easily accessible on foot or by transport from the city centre. Breakfast was basic but tasty. Also they offer a transport card for all Lausanne to use during the stay which is very convinient.

The facilities of the showers are very limited. The rooms are not well isolated so it can be pretty noisy, specially with so many kids running and playing in the corridors.

My favourites at the beautiful buffet breakfast were the yoghurts, mint tea, and freshly baked bread with walnuts. The bed was very comfortable and the lake is a short and easy walk away, past the International Olympic Committee headquarters. You can go for long runs or walks on the wide path around the lake.
