The location of the hotel is excellent, very near the Kölner Dom. Breakfast was really good, complete and yummy. The room was very nice and comfortable. It was clean and big.

Nice quiet location not far from the cathedral and old town. Our room was huge and very comfortable, and would have been great for a longer stay. Breakfast was delicious with a good choice of food, and the whole place had a very pleasant, calming ambience despite being quite busy while we were there.

Our bathroom was a little on the small side but it didn't bother us, and the room more than made up for it. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but there is a coffee machine for public use which dispenses free hot water.

Unusual setting: it's a diocesan conference centre with various meeting spaces, a school and a library as well as rooms for overnight guests. Also some quiet courtyards. Interesting architecture and spacious public areas. Rooms vary in size. Mine was one of the largest on the floor and had plenty of floor space including a sofa. Decent bathroom. Everything was simple but clean and well maintained. Generally quiet location on the edge of the city centre. Good basic breakfast in a pleasant restaurant.

Room had only a few side lamps, no main overhead light, so was rather gloomy. Slightly confusing layout, not helped by one of the lifts being out of action when I visited, forcing a detour through various corridors. Some traffic noise from nearby roads in the morning.

The location is perfect, right next to the center of Cologne and yet very quiet. Very practical with a large indoor parking right under the hotel, with preferential rate (20 EUR per day) and free EV charging for hotel guests. If you have an EV, the free charging pretty much pays for the parking. Very nice touch with a free water dispenser in the lobby where you can refill your reusable bottle (this should be a must for any hotel in this day and age). Good breakfast, not fancy but containing all the basic items you would expect.

There's nothing really I didn't like. It's not a fancy hotel by any means but it is practical and comfortable.

Don't be put off by the slightly austere look of the dark brick building. My stay here was very comfortable and in fact, the foyer has to be the most impressive I have seen in a 3 star hotel. Very good breakfast with an excellent range of breads. Unlimited coffee included, which makes me happy! Chilled water available for guests, from a machine in the foyer, much appreciated for my water bottle, as 30 plus outside during my stay. On that note, AC, also gets a big tick in the box. Lovely little spaces to sit out.

excellent breakfast . Rooms excellently furnished, decorated and lit. Uncarpeted Room 75 has over-the -rooftops view of cathedral and a small balcony. carpeted room 74 has view over adjacent park. Walking distance from Centre of town. Some helpful staff.

No English-speaking channel on TV Lack of local knowledge e.g. restaurants. Maternhaus restaurant was closed for the two evenings we were there.

Conveniently located close to the main station, the cathedral and the town centre, the Maternushaus is just as it looks in the photo, only better. Our room was very spacious with comfortable beds and a walk-in wardrobe; in short, it provided everything we needed. The staff were polite and helpful at all times. The breakfast was extraordinarily good: such variety, and all fresh and beautifully presented. If we visit Cologne again, we will certainly choose the Maternushaus.

Hotel is placed in the city center near the train station and city center that is one of the biggest advatages. Great location for tour around the city and for visit fair. Hotel room has average space and it´s clean and comfortable. Breakfast is served in the hotel restaurant and it´s delicious. I can recommand this accommodation.

In the hotel room is missing fridge that´s could be disadvantage but for most of the people it´s okay. One of the big road is pretty near so sometimes you can hear some noise but it´s not something terrible

Nice hotel in the center of Cologne! There is a large underground parking area where you can park for €20. You can also charge your car there for free! The room we stayed in was simple but good, breakfast was also very extensive.

Because the hotel is in the city center, you can expect noise. It is not possible to sleep with the window open because that would be too noisy. In the morning there was also quite some noise coming from the hallway. So bringing earplugs is advised.

Right next to the central train station and the dome, also a U-bahn stop right next to the hotel. Great location, in a quite and nice neighborhood. The breakfast has a lot of options and a variety everyday The reception was very friendly and helpful The room had a lot of space and the beds were really comfortable

There was no bathtub, only a sink and the water was almost flooding the bathroom. The bathroom had a bad smell
