Great view from my room. Small, plain but very functional. Air-conditioning worked well. The breakfast was great for 15 euros. They even had cut up fruit, fresh orange juice and nice bread and backed goods. No hot food which suits me fine.

On the 1st night, the young lady was so nice, helpful and friendly. A new one arrived the next day and seemed like she was switched off, and everything I asked was a chore. There's only one person on until 10 or 11 pm. So if they aren't interested, you're on your own. It was a very nice 3-star hotel besides that.

Fantastic staff. Excellent breakfast (the fruit bowl with natural yogurt was exceptionally good). Great location (in the heart of the old town and yet super quiet). Spacious room. Basic but very good (and well priced) mini-bar. We have been to lots of hotels in Santiago over the years and the San Miguel remains our favourite one, by far.

They only have one room with a double bed, so we almost always end up in a room with twin beds placed together, which is not ideal when traveling as a couple; and for some reason the beds move forward if you sit against the back to the bed when trying to read a book in bed, which is quite annoying. The bed legs might be quite slippery.

Tucked away in little ‘local’ square with such welcoming reception staff, beautiful views of the cathedral and so close to walk to it. I also loved the organ music and the bells from the cathedral in the early evening and so convenient to have taxi for airport come right to the hotel door even tho’ in narrow streets of historic area. The room was exceptional - within the bedroom, there was a sectioned off area with a couch and comfortable chairs and table overlooking the back of the hotel - where there was a very peaceful patio area. The room didn't have tea/coffee, but this was made for us downstairs and we took it outside to drink. You are in the heart of the city, and even in the midst of the summer, we were cool in our room and undisturbed by any noise. The hotel staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful to maximise advise on our visit to Compostela. An absolutely fantastic stay.

Beautiful hotel with a lovely outlook onto a small square. Fantastic location so we could walk easily to the main cathedral and museums and also close to the tapas bars. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. It was raining and there were umbrellas to borrow, gave me hot water for tea of an evening, and very helpful with information on local events

You can hear church bells ringing through the night but I think that is unavoidable when surrounded by churches

Everything… We very much enjoyed our stay at the Hotel San Miguel in SDC …receptionist Louisa was very kind and attentive to our needs when we arrived early, the fourth floor bedroom was spacious, lovely and comfortable with a view of the cathedral towers, the location and facilities provided all we needed and the option of the lovely buffet breakfast was worth the little extra, thank you to all staff involved with our stay

It’s the perfect blend of historic charm and updated amenities, especially the tub and shower.

At one point during the first evening my balcony door flew open and stayed that way over night, this was a bit creepy but nothing bad happened - thankfully no water got in. Another thing that came up was forgetting my hotel key in my room and needing to ask a neighbor to call for help since the front desk isn’t staffed overnight.

The hotel was in a perfect location close to all the sights. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and had a nice sized bathroom with toiletries. There was a stocked mini fridge and a large balcony door with a view to the front entrance courtyard. On our floor we had a beautifully furnished common living room with access to the terrace garden. Breakfast was pricey so we did not eat there but just in front of the hotel there is a little cafe that serves up the best coffee and wonderful little breakfast. Great place,would definitely recommend.

The room had an amazing view to a small, quiet plaza. The room was quiet, comfortable and cozy. The design of the bathroom was clever and meant it had natural light and didn't take too much space. The enclosed balcony was beautiful and I would had spent a lot of time sitting there enjoying the view if there wasn't so much to do in Santiago. I would suggest to have a kettle in the bedroom, for an early cup of tea or coffee in the morning. I know it isn't an expectation in Spanish hotels, so not an issue.

The Location is superb as it is in the old town where you are luck if you can stay there. The rooms are nice and spacious and cleanliness was top notch. The staff are friendly and very accommodating to ones needs. The other areas in the hotel are clean, accommodating and just feels good to be there.

I have stayed there previously and one of the things that brought me back was the superb continental breakfast except this time it was not. Previously there was fresh fruit (strawberries, raspberries) available and this time there was not. Previously there was mini pastries available (croissants and pain-aux-chocolat) and this time there was not. The breakfast this stay was just average and mediocre.
