We absolutely adored this little motel. The room was spacious and the king size bed was super comfortable. It had a small kitchen that included a mini fridge, microwave and sink. The also had coffee, tea and hot water in the room along with meal tickets for breakfast sandwiches at the next door deli. Jacob was super nice and eager to help if we needed anything. There are benches outside of each room and picnic tables and a swing. Super close to Saratoga Springs too!

The freezer in the mini fridge needed to be defrosted.

Very appealing room with a simple but fun style, reading lamps and end tables on both sides of the bed, a good shower, nice bedding and a parking space adjacent to the room. Basically everything we love in a motel. We also loved the coupon for breakfast at two places just off the property -- a very clever and appreciated idea.

I don't love the totally online check in, but when we had a problem with getting a code for our second room, the help line was answered immediately and problem sorted out in about 45 seconds, so all good.

The location was great for getting to Saratoga Racetrack. The Mexican restaurant/diner on one side was delicious and there's a nice Deli on the other side which was also good. CVS across the street. Lots of nearby conveniences. There is no human being on site to check in with, so that was a bit surprising. A code is texted to your phone to get into the room. There was a slight glitch upon arrival, but there is a phone number to call and a live person answered and squared everything away. I would go there again. It's old school sixties-looking, but I like that. There's a charging station for electric vehicles too.

I'm not sure that I am all about contactless entry/ no one on site. It is something I am not used to.

Price is right, room clean, bed comfortable. Appreciated the microwave, refrigerator and electric kettle. Roomthermostat easy to adjust.

Assigned Rm "3" 1. NO "Real people" acting as hosts! Everything is done online. Missed the host/guest comradery at breakfast: 2. No hairdryer in room 3. Bathroom plumbing problem seems same as last October's stay: there's heavy corrosion in water pipes. The bathroom sink faucet was just a drizzle and hot/cold not delineated --just a tepid trickle.. Shower OK but showerhead pipe is breaking away from the wall .... 4. Room could use a couple of comfortable chairs and perhaps some shelves in closet for smaller clothes items. Hope this helps the "phantom" owners to continue their renovations .....

Clean and the room smelled fresh(from a room freshener i guess). I specially loved the wallpaper and the paint color. Contacless check-in. We received an email for the room number and lock code. We arrived and the AC is already on. The room was already cool when we came in which we really appreciated since the day was really humid. Their complimentary breakfast is a voucher from a deli 2 mins walk from the motel which was excellent. Overall very satisfied with out stay.

I understand from Covid things have changed. And they send you a link to check in, then a key code to get in to your room. The “lobby/check in” is empty with a rack of extra towels and such. No one is actually there that works at the motel. We were the only ones there, and it felt very uncomfortable. To the fact we left a night earlier.

Location suited us since we were visiting grandchildren at Skidmore. I appreciated the king-sized bed, linens generous, very clean. Requested extra pillows -- not a problem, delivered inside 10 min. Birches is an 'old-style' motel newly renovated; obviously not finished yet. new owners trying very hard to make a go of it and we wish them good luck!

There was a problem with the water --no cold running water. A phone call brought 'David' to check; he said they'd been working on plumbing in their recently renovated rooms. Within 30 minutes he had solved problem of cold water issue. However, there was a problem with drains; stopped up every time water was run, whether hot or cold. Appears corroded --perhaps too much lime in tap-water? Therefore, we did not attempt to take showers! Advertised, but NO breakfast was offered to us. 'Deluxe King Room also advertised as having microwave; NONE was there. only one chair in entire room, lamp at desk broken.

We stayed in room 101 and that was perfect for us because we where on motorcycles and we could park right outside our door. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. WE WILL BE BACK.

The only issue (not really an issue) was the floor collected dirt that we tracked in and thats why i'm saying not really an issue. A broom in the closet and we would have taken care of it ourselves. all in all we had a great stay and we will be back.

We try to get up to Saratoga Springs for the August Horse Racing Meet every year and have stayed in all kinds of locations in and around Saratoga. Birches checked all the boxes for a great value and convenience to Downtown Saratoga with Breakfast Sandwiches & Coffee at the Deli next door..We will be back.

The room was clean, spacious, not cluttered, and open. The decorations were pleasantly modern. The bed was comfortable.

It took a long time for the room to warm up from 57 degrees. Then when I was ready to sleep, I set the heat to 58, and woke up to it at 69, which was not the temperature I had set it at. The shower was not super high pressure, but was fine. The fridge had a loud noise every time the compressor came on that woke me up.
