A wonderful property with great communal spaces to enjoy. The roaring fire was certainly very welcome in the whiskey room- a great spot to curl up with a brew and a book. Breakfast was brilliant and we dined in the restaurant one evening the food was great and very much value for money with the quality. Staff were wonderful and so attentive.
Overall cleanliness- our bathroom wasn’t cleaned to a good enough standard. The shower base was miss fitting and seemed to have warped underfoot this could be a leak that has caused the foundation to be unsettled under the shower tray making it springy.

The staff were amazing. Checked in after surgery for an overnight stay. Couldn't have been more helpful in making sure I was comfortable. Great breakfast. I never got a chance to try the evening ambience, but in the morning, it looked interesting, and the grounds amazing. Definitely looking to return to experience the hotel under better circumstances. Oh, and we were given a free upgrade. Thank you so much 💓
The stairs, but that was just because of my situation. Just one flight and in keeping with the age of the property.

Lovely looking hotel - clearly a wedding venue, although we just came for a weekend break in Norwich. Nicely decorated in a classic country hotel kind of way. The room was spacious, the bed was really comfortable, the TV was big and had internet streaming services, and the tea/coffee facilities were good quality (e.g. coffee bags instead of sticks of instant coffee!). The staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good quality.
A couple of things: 1. Our booking had said there would be a bath in the room, but there was only a shower (albeit a pretty good one) 2. Unfortunately, our room (6) was immediately above a double swing door that was very regularly used by staff through the evening, and every time they barged through it the noise/vibration carried in to our room. We eventually asked if we could be moved do a different room. Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked, but they did find a way to pin the doors open to stop them banging.

Breakfast was very, tasty, good quality ingredients, able to mix and match dishes from the menu. Able to cater for dietary requirements with easy menu adaptations. Great service from the breakfast hostess. Very helpful staff. Staff helped with booking taxi into city for a night out. Good selection on room tray offered and supplied oat milk to the room. Loved the small areas to sit and have a drink and a chat.
Some areas looking tired, appreciate that there are plans to upgrade the whole venue Biggest bugbear of our stay is, although room had great bathroom facilities really well lit, and a hairdryer supplied in room there is no mirror on the dressing table to sit and dry your hair, i had to stand at the wardrobe with the wardrobe door propped open as it kept closing to try to style my hair, when upgrading room please consider a lady likes to dry her hair in front of a mirror! Maybe TV on the wall and a mirror on the dressing table…..??!

We had an intimate wedding there with close family. The location is wondeful, the Hall has so much character and the surrounding woods and greenery gives it a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The food is excellent, the staff couldn't be friendlier and attentive. Ashley was so helpful and attentive with everyone, made such a big difference in our special day. The rooms were big, there was an array of teas and good coffee available in the room and bottles of water, amenities like ironing board, hair dryer, bath robes were available and there was a very big mirror in our room.
The rooms could use an update, there were cracks on the ceiling, the AC was not working properly in some of the rooms our family was in and the bed is our suite wasn't the most comfortable. Our bed had like a "hump" in the middle and the sides were low and we fell out of bed when we rolled in our sleep... a couple of times 😅

This hotel is beautiful. A restored old manor house. Gorgeous. The food was excellent, the staff were above and beyond helpful and professional. We arrived and had a room that had a bathtub and steps down to the bathroom. My husband is disabled and it was difficult to get him into and out of the bath. I asked the manager if a shower room was available and she said yes and moved us the next day.
We did not realize that there are no rooms on a ground floor and there is no lift. My husband is disabled but we made it work. The staff carried our cases up and down for us and were extremely helpful!

The gorgeous colours and general decor! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. It is cleverly being te- furnished in the most elegant, creative and colourful manner. Excellent breakfast and staff. Very good value for money. We will happily return and look forward to seeing the future developments over time! It is an incredible project but the owners have already demonstrated their talents, energy and enthusiasm for completing the challenging task they have taken on!
We liked it all, even though it is still in the process of being designed and re- furbished it was still a very interesting and comfortable independent hotel to spend a few days relaxing and enjoying all that it had to offer.

Caistor Hall is a beautiful Georgian manor house - so it was an architectural delight, with elegantly proportioned rooms and high ceilings. Unfortunately, it was raining during our visit, so we didn't have a chance to explore the grounds, but these looked very inviting. The staff were friendly and helpful, even though they were catering for a large function when we visited, which meant that they were quite busy. The food (both dinner and breakfast) was excellent.
The only slight disappointment was our room, which was a little smaller than I'd expected. The lighting was very dim, which made reading a book a bit difficult and the effect overall was rather gloomy - in fairness, this was probably exacerbated by the rain. There was also only one chair even though it's a double room.

All staff were friendly, courteous and highly professional. Breakfast was plentiful. Good choice. Nice location to eat. Hotel has a unique charm that matches it's history. Hotel is not close to anywhere - which is what description says, and is part of it's charm. We ate dinner at the onsite restaurant. quite simply superb. Food, service. Even if not staying at the hotel you must eat at the main restaurant.
nothing - could not fault hotel. hotel is old and room shows signs of wear and tear. but to me that is a part of the charm. some people will see it as a negative. It did not affect my stay, but if anything, worth management to consider.

Gorgeous building, warm welcome , friendly staff, excellent food & wine Beautiful soft furnishings
Our bed ! It was awful . It was such a shame as it looked amazing but it was a nightmare to sleep on . The mattress sank in the middle terrible , making it impossible to sleep probably, I woke frequently due to back pain . The second night I actually spent the night on cushions on the floor ! Also on arrival I realised that the bathroom door wouldn’t shut ,I reported it & was told it would be fixed the following day while we were out . This never happened.
