The staff at Hotel Altmunchen were very accommodating, and the location is amazing for seeing the old town. and we were able to get into our room early, which was great after a long day of travelling. Our bed was really comfortable and the bathroom clean. The breakfast selection was good too and set us up each day. We also really appreciated being able to get a beer at the end of each day.

Everything was really good, the only thing that would have been a bonus would have been if there was a kettle in the room, I know I could have asked for a cup of tea at anytime, but I like an early morning cup when I'm in my pyjamas!

Boutique hotel, very close to the old town. Many of the main tourist attractions are within walking distance. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Check in easy, even though we were a little early. There is good double glazing on the windows to keep out the general city traffic noise and noise from the next door bar. A little city noise is more than made up for by the location.

There was space for a fridge in the room but it had been removed. No tea making facilities.

The location was great. The rooms were nice, and the beds were comfortable. We were within walking distance of downtown Munich and enjoyed our stay. It's an out of the way location that's close enough to the city center. A good combo

There is not parking for the hotel. The public parking meters and the apps for them are all in German, which is fair but does make it tricky if you don't speak German. The first night we spent almost 40 Euro for parking. Once we'd figured it out, we paid 5 for the rest of our trip. The elevator is super small and sketchy, but it did work fine. The locks on the doors are a bit tricky as well, again they work, but there is a bit of a learning curve.

The location was very close to the pedestrian area of old Munich (within walking distance), the room was clean and the beds were comfy. The was no AC in the rooms, but we found a huge fan there, so the temperature was good. There are cafes and bars in the area (it is an excellent cocktail bar named Polloi right near the hotel). The hotel has an elevator, so the access to the upper floors is easy. This hotel is a excellent choice for visiting Munich.

The breakfast was amazing, really good quality and good selections of cheese and cold meats, and there are also freshly made scrambled eggs, bacon and sausages. The bed was really comfy. The people are very friendly too, give me a more local feel, not the big chain hotel type. Very good location - walking distance to the old town, and to bus/metro stations. They also provided hair dryer and it was very strong and has temperature control.

This is more like an older boutique hotel, not the big hotel chains. The building is probably pretty old but the insides are very well kept, so the only problem is that there's no air conditioning. It might be a problem when it's really hot, but it was ok when we stayed (June 2024). We have to open the window and turn on the fan.

The hotel is situated right where SendlingerStrasse begins (a large pedestrian zone in Munich that leads to the Marienplatz). This meant I walked everywhere, which was great. I did take a taxi to/from the main train station (Munich Hbf). The hotel was perfectly fine. The breakfast was great. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and all needs were met.

I’m not sure the €300+ I spent were really worth it. There was nothing fancy about the place. I guess I paid for the location (which *was* great). Also, there is no AC and it gets quite warm in summer. The room did have a fan which was appreciated.

Hotel was well-located just a block from U-bahn, so easy to reach from train station even with baggage. Desk clerk was super-friendly, check-in was easy and room was great. Note: they have the smallest elevator you have ever seen. But it worked!

No A/C but they provided a small fan, which helped. Small but functional bathroom (small was the "didn't like" part, functionality was a plus!).

Staff were helpful. Had some medications that had to be stored in the fridge and room fridge provided didn't work. Location was great, walkable to centre and bus/train stations. Room was otherwise clean.

The room doesn't have the Aircon but does have a fan. Unfortunately even with an open window it was too hot and I kept waking up during the night because of it.

Great location! Amazing staff at front desk and at breakfast. The breakfast was very good quality and plenty of choices. Great coffee, hot chocolate, tea options, and also fresh juices and fruits. Homemade jams stood out. Most importantly was the staff, who were very helpful and kind towards our kids. Thank you. We would return without hesitation.

We found the hotels best feature was location to everything. Close to public transportation, city center, coffee shops and interesting sites. The beds were some of our most comfortable on our trip and so were the pillows. There was a fan in the room which really helped keep us comfortable.

The hotel could use a face-lift in furniture and decor. Room had too much furniture in the small room. Not enough hangers. We also did not ask for any more and made due. Close to main city streets and during Octoberfest we heard many sirens. Fan helped drown those out.
