Our stay at the Kilford Arms was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The experience began on a high note with easy and free on-site parking, which made our arrival completely stress-free. Check-in was quick, professional, and incredibly helpful; the staff gave us some excellent recommendations for places to visit in town, and their advice was spot on for everything we did. There is an onsite pub and restaurant. We had roomservice dinner and it the food was FANTASTIC (and reasonably priced)! Most stays include an incredible breakfast buffet - just spectacular and really made me feel a huge value for our stay. The room itself was wonderful. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower consistently provided strong pressure with plenty of hot water, which was greatly appreciated after a day of exploring. You simply cannot beat the location—it's right in the center of town, allowing us to walk to all the sights, pubs, and restaurants we wanted to visit. The convenience was a significant factor in making our trip so enjoyable. The service, food, and atmosphere in the restaurant and bar were also fantastic. Overall, we could not have been happier with our choice. We give the Kilford Arms our highest recommendation for anyone traveling to Kilkenny.

The facilities are nice, but the rooms are a bit dated. As it was warm out, we noticed there was no A/C, but the hotel provides each room with a fan (which I thought very proactive), so lack of A/C was really not much of a factor.

Everything, from check-in to check-out all the reception staff were wonderful - Very nice and helpful to us. Key cards were ready on arrival, quick check-in and explained where the room was, bar, breakfast would be served. We got bar food while waiting on one of the girls to arrive and it was delicious. Plenty of everything and hot!! Two of the girls got the burger and chips with side salad and I had chicken Vol au Vons with side salad and chips. Room 95 was the perfect size for us - 4 girls four beds, 3 single and one double. Bathroom was a good size too. Plenty of space for all our things. Lovely touch was the electric fan, turned on for us in the room as it did get very hot there especially at night. Everything was spotless and clean, plenty of towels, etc tea making facilities etc. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay again as it's location is dead centre in the city. So close to all shops and bars and restaurants.

For the price we paid breakfast should have been included at the very least.

Good location, close to the train station & centre of town. Beds were comfortable & room was spacious.

There was a lift to the 1st floor, but then we had several sets of stairs as we walked through a maze to get to our room. Just to note for others on an accessibility piece. Shower curtain in the bathroom - always a deal breaker for me so highlighting in case anyone has the same feeling. No bathroom fan, so it did get pretty hot & steamy after a shower.

Myself and friend stayed for Comedy Festival. Location is brilliant. Plenty of parking. Hotel has loads going on with different Bars etc. They put us at the back, so it was very quiet. Room was bright and Airy. Beds are solid and comfortable. Breakfast was standard fare. You won't go hungry. The Staff serve you so, just ask for what you want.

Bathroom was in our room was dated, not good for showering as the Bath rails are to far out. Needs to be replaced with proper easy access shower and non slip flooring. Breakfast Room needs to be updated.

Husband greatly enjoyed his full Irish. Teen daughter was not impressed with the scones. Bar and bar food were food. Hotel was walking distance to Castle and shopping.

Room was odd. We booked a family room that ended up being L-shaped and had 3 twins on one side and a twin and a queen in the other. There were two bathrooms but they were side by side. It was also on the front corner so it has alley and street noise. I'm sure other rooms are lovely. I would stay again, just not in that type of room..

Larger than you might think from the street, it also has two pubs / bars attached, parking in the back, and some decent options for breakfast. It's a short walk to Kilkenny Castle and all the shops, pubs and restaurants you could want.

More sprawling on the inside than you'd think, and a little confusing to access various side entrances. Parking was supposed to be free, but we ended up paying a small fee to get out. Minor concerns, however, for an otherwise great stay.

The room was extremely comfy ,even though we were at the front of hotel , the noise cancellation with the windows was brilliant 👏, staff were lovely , breakfast was great, dinner was amazing as was the entertainment, I would definitely recommend the kilford arms if your staying in kilkenny , very clean , beds comfy and lots of hot water , thank you so much 😀

Please upgrade hairdryers , that's the only feedback ( not a complaint lol)

Very convenient location. The most amazing place we have ever stayed. Ten plus years ago the owner(s) purchased the remains of an old church in Wales. It was taken apart stone by stone, transported to Kilkenny and rebuilt inside the hotel !

There only seemed to be 1 lift.

Room was great, value for money. Nothing super flash, but was very comfortable and the location was perfect. Right in the middle of it, without being intrusive. Staff were really helpful and friendly.

Rooms were a little dated, but to be honest, I knew what I was getting into when booking. I wanted something cheap and cheerful, and that's exactly what I got. No complaints

It is a wonderfully central hotel on top of every amenity in the centre of the city & staff very friendly & helpful & a had residents bar/restaurant as well.

Shower was unbelievably hot & couldn't adjust it to a cooler more manageable temperature but all in all very good value for money. If only had iacuzzi/swimming room but in all seriousness only disappointing thing was probably the shower.
