I liked the location and the attention of the staff. They are always ready to help you and to answer your questions.

The west side needs maintenance (cracking doors, painting, uneven floor, old carpet), and staff should put more attention to the bathroom cleaningness. I know the hostel concept, but there are a few things they can do to improve it. Something a really dislike was the lack of natural air circulation, all throughout the west building (including living room and rooms). Without it, the entire building smelled like mold, felt hot, and saturated.

- Safety: The hostel felt secure, which was reassuring for a foreign travellor - Vending Machines & Dining: Stocked daily and perfect for late-night cravings; nearby restaurants added to the convenience. - Impeccable Kitchen: One of the best-maintained communal kitchens—clean, fully stocked, and well-organized. - Spotless Bathrooms: Spacious and consistently well-kept. - Cozy Chill Area: Ground-floor space with charging points, ideal for relaxing or working. - Friendly Staff: Warm and welcoming, adding a personal touch. - Stylish Vibe: The Rocky-themed staircase music was a fun, memorable detail.

Though I loved this Hostel, here are my suggestions on what could be improved: - Shower Issues: Though the bathrooms are clean and spacious, the low water pressure and lukewarm hot water made showers less comfortable. - Self-Service Bed Setup: Collecting towels and linens at check-in felt inconvenient after a long journey. - No Lift: Carrying luggage up four floors was exhausting. - Outdated Plugs: Adding Type-C plug options would better serve for travellers. - Water Filters: Installing filters on each floor would save guests from hauling water bottles upstairs. - Dorm Privacy: Adding bed curtains would enhance privacy and create a pod-like feel. - Bed Quality: Squeaky beds disrupted sleep—regular maintenance is needed.

-Amazing Staff. They were super friendly and really helpful. People on the desk 24/7 is always a bonus. Gave good recommendations when asked. -Great location. I was able to walk everywhere I wanted to. If I needed to go further, there was a SEPTA station around the corner. -Friendly clientele. Seemed to attract like minded travellers and everyone seemed up for a good time. Very social hostel great for solo travellers like myself. -Comfy beds. Probably the comfiest hostel bed I’ve been in by a mile. Great pillows too. -Air Conditioning. Stayed in peak summer and the air conditioning was a life saver. Seems to be standard in the rooms. -Complimentary Towels and Facilities. Didn’t have to pay extra for a towel. The pool table, tea and other amenities were also free! -Lockers. Good sized lockers that I was able to fit my giant suitcase into surprisingly. -Kitchen. Well equipped kitchen facilities. Saw they were putting new utensils and pans in when I was there. -Price. Insanely good value for the money. Cheapest place to stay in central Philly by a long way.

-Cleaning. Very minor thing but sometimes the showers and bath mats were a bit gross. Under my bed and on the floor of my dorm there seemed to be a bit more dust than expected. -Outside at night. Not much the hostel can do about it, but the alley the hostel is in felt a bit sketchy at night. Never had any trouble but I could see why someone could feel unsafe. Not much else to say about negatives though!

Great location, all tourists things are nearby and convenient. Lot of "hostel" facilities, like pool table, card games, common area to relax, nice sofas, well equipped kitchen. Provides towels pillow cover and sheets. Beds are comfortable. Washroom and Bathrooms are clean. Offers free drinks / beer on alternate days. Staff guides you well, when you enquire. Safe lockers in room to for your luggage. Access card for entry and exit. Allows to store your luggage after you check-out, as needed. Over-all, good value for money.

After reaching 4th floor, I found that my access card didn't work. So had to get down to ground floor reception all the way, to get it reactivated. This was very uncomfortable experience on day 1. Later it was re-configured and then I didn't face issues. Room and bathroom cleanliness could have been better. There are no elevator/ lifts to reach any floors, and to be on 4th floor can be, "way to inconvenience"

This is one of America's great hostels - I stayed there a dozen years ago and it's still delivering a great place to stay in a slightly different location. Events organised most evenings (generally drink related, but there's a ghost tour as well) and great facilities. Very helpful staff - thanks to Pablo and Joel and the guy from Wolverhampton whose name I didn't get. They always had a cheerful word when you went in or out. Helpful also when I cut a finger and got locked out of my own locker. Good laundry and kitchen facilities and Rocky-themed stairwell. Bedrooms have great array of individual charging stations and power sockets at the bedside and even in the lockers.

No complaints on the actual hostel. The ups or downs of the location depends on where you want to spend your time. It's about 1.5km from Town Hall, but very close to Delaware river and the historic district (Benjamin Franklin's house, original Supreme Court and Congress etc) and a cinema. Loads of good restaurants. But if you want to run up the Rocky Steps, they are about 4km away.

First of all, the four days we spent in Philadelphia with my friend were great and one of the reasons for this was the friendly people we met in the hostel. Everyone working in the hostel was very friendly, especially Gamze, who helped us with everything and gave us tips about the city and had a great conversation. She was very sincere and friendly. Since the hostel is close to the city center, we did not use any public transportation and there are markets and restaurants near the hostel. The hostel was clean and fun. In the evening, everyone met each other and chatted. I am sure that if I come to Philadelphia again, I will stay in this hostel again. Thank you to everyone who was helpful.

Overall the stay was very positive. Every day the facility plans something that makes it possible to create bonds and friendships even for those traveling alone. I was particularly impressed by the staff, all very friendly and helpful. Among these, in my trip, João stands out without a doubt, who welcomed me upon my arrival, taking care of my check-in and helping me with my luggage, and Pablo with his cordiality always available for advice on what to visit and how to appreciate Philly as much as possible. Both really sunny, they are able to bring at least one smile to people's faces every day for the entire duration of their stay. If I were to return to Philadelphia I would choose this hostel again, for sure.

All the common/shared areas were very clean and well maintained (bathrooms, shower, kitchen, lounge area). Staff were friendly. Location was great for exploring the older historic part of the city. I didn't take part, but it was nice to see that tours and activities were organised by the hostel.

WiFi was patchy in the bed room - it disconnected often. Bedroom could use some additional cleaning (dust under bed and in corners of room). The beds were not super private (no curtains or dividers) - I was not there for too long so was not an issues, but helpful to know.

The location was great, many tourist spots, if not all, were in walkable distance. The rooms were nice and even though we had to keep the windows open, it was relatively quiet outside. The kitchen was clean and the people were really friendly! The were some events for most evenings like pub tours or an open bar for half an hour, that was pretty nice!

There is no elevator which can be very annoying if you have heavy luggage like I had. Luckily I only had to go to the second floor, and I think there are only 3-4 floors, but still this is something to consider as I had some trouble getting my luggage to my room.

Location was excellent, the pool table made for a great social aspect, the night life was great, propagated by the pub crawl set up by the hostel. The staff were lovely, specially Chris who spent far longer than he needed to when telling us about places to visit and things to see, while have a friendly and approachable face the entire stay. Nathan also was a great member of staff as he was very approachable and social with us

The stairs made lots of noise, I couldn’t hear it from my room but I felt I may wake people or annoy them while going up.
