We spent 3 nights here and had a wonderful time. The staff are amazing. Our room and the beds were very comfortable. The room was quiet and looked out on to the large garden which we really appreciated as the weather was so brilliant. The cooked breakfast was very good. We also had dinner two nights which we really enjoyed. Excellent walks along the Billy railway track - good for bird-watching. We would definitely return.

The Hotel staff were very welcoming. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere. The location was very good for the wedding venue we were attending and the Hotel provided a good breakfast. The room was bright with everything you needed for a pleasant stay.
The Hotel could do with a bit of a make over which would improve its overall appearance. The room had cracks in the walls/bathroom tiles, not finished off too well so overall a little run down. The bed side lights were a little too bright too, but these little issues did not stop us enjoying are stay there!

Fantastically spacious family room with 3 proper beds which is often a struggle to find. Very clean, comfy beds. Ample tea and coffee making facilities. Friendly staff.
Loud live music until quite late which we didn’t expect on a Thursday night. Kids were tired after a long ferry crossing but struggled to sleep due to the music. Informing us of this at check in would have been courteous. Large notice on the windows stating we were not allowed to open them but no air con either. We stayed in August which meant the room was stiflingly hot. Please install some air con or allow the windows to be opened!

Friendly staff, great location. Room was nice and big but bed not comfortable, see next question
I booked this room and paid more for an extra large double bed. When we got there, it was just a Kingsize. I don’t feel a Kingsize is an extra large double bed. I didn’t complain but felt we’d paid for something we didn’t get. The Kingsize bed which turned out to be their bridal suite had an uncomfortable mattress too. The room is a bit tired, the window frames were rotting. Value for money because it was quite cheap but wouldn’t stay in that room again. Breakfast was also rather poor, food quite cold as was kept warm in those metal heaters which don’t really work. The menu said it offered poached eggs but nobody came and offered us anything, we were completely left to our own devices.

the hotel was a beautiful place that looked like a country manor. the staff were amazing and very friendly. i did turn up a little early and the room wasn't ready. so i went to the bar and the service was great and the Guinness too. the room was perfect size for my self as it had nice on suite bathroom. breakfast was a buffet, which is great as i loved the hash browns. highly recommend if going to the island.
could of done with AC but then it might of taken away from the experience. i would of liked to of checked out later but then i'm glad i didn't as traffic home would of been an issue.

Friendly and helpful staff. Clean comfortable room. Excellent bar and restaurant. Really good meals in restaurant. Nice bar area where you can sit and relax. Breakfasts are self service and food is kept hot in large heated containers. So condition of fried eggs is down to luck. There are bus stops right outside, with a frequent service in both directions - ideal for getting about without having to worry about parking. Good live music most weekends. There was a jazz band on the Sunday we were there.
Day time disco was very loud! But, these are infrequent...

The hotel was lovely, an old building in which our bedroom had been cleverly and tastefully refurbished. The bar and outside areas were very good. The staff were great.. especially Magna.
Breakfast didn’t quite work. Day 1….hardly anyone in breakfast we had to ask for hot food to be replenished as there was none. Day 2….slightly busier but again, there was no hot food or coffee left and this was at 8:45am. We had to request that the hot food and coffee was replenished. Maybe table service would have been better than buffet?

Interesting old building which retains some historic features. A convenient location and plenty of onsite parking. The room was a good size. Staff were welcoming and helpful.
Little details in the room stopped it being a five star experience- a stupidly small TV set, nowhere to put a sponge bag in the bathroom, a fixed waterfall type shower, the water either being very hot or cold, the radiator not really heating the room very well (whereas another room was swelteringly hot). Disappointing to be offered only instant coffee at breakfast (proper coffee was available at an extra charge but not as part of the B&B deal). Also only a DIY instant porridge pot. Cooked breakfast was fine, if a little dull. Quality of bread and jams was very basic.

We’ve stayed here before, lovely hotel with a lot of history, great location, more than enough parking. Always amply buffet breakfast with waitress service for your cooked option. Polite friendly reception staff.
We were given a room in the Annexe, quite small but comfortable, tables both sides of the bed, ample plugs for devices etc. Tea and coffee favcilities with biscuits available. One thing that let the room down was the bathroom, there were 2 huge cracks in the tiling and the grouting looked a very tired. Other than that a very nice bright and warm room.

Very nice room. Good location, lots of parking ,good food in the evening, good choice at breakfast. Staff are very friendly and well traiined. All areas are well kept and maintained, and the grounds are lovely..
Lot of mould in the bathroom sides of wardrobes covered in dust. It was very cold on the first night, with no heating in the room. Our room was at the front very noisy in the morning from the rush hour traffic. although the room had blinds, the room was very light first thing in the morning. It would help with noise and light if this room had curtains instead of blinds. Also, the wooded window did not seem to fit the frames very well.
