Interesting old building which retains some historic features. A convenient location and plenty of onsite parking. The room was a good size. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

Little details in the room stopped it being a five star experience- a stupidly small TV set, nowhere to put a sponge bag in the bathroom, a fixed waterfall type shower, the water either being very hot or cold, the radiator not really heating the room very well (whereas another room was swelteringly hot). Disappointing to be offered only instant coffee at breakfast (proper coffee was available at an extra charge but not as part of the B&B deal). Also only a DIY instant porridge pot. Cooked breakfast was fine, if a little dull. Quality of bread and jams was very basic.

We’ve stayed here before, lovely hotel with a lot of history, great location, more than enough parking. Always amply buffet breakfast with waitress service for your cooked option. Polite friendly reception staff.

We were given a room in the Annexe, quite small but comfortable, tables both sides of the bed, ample plugs for devices etc. Tea and coffee favcilities with biscuits available. One thing that let the room down was the bathroom, there were 2 huge cracks in the tiling and the grouting looked a very tired. Other than that a very nice bright and warm room.

Very nice room. Good location, lots of parking ,good food in the evening, good choice at breakfast. Staff are very friendly and well traiined. All areas are well kept and maintained, and the grounds are lovely..

Lot of mould in the bathroom sides of wardrobes covered in dust. It was very cold on the first night, with no heating in the room. Our room was at the front very noisy in the morning from the rush hour traffic. although the room had blinds, the room was very light first thing in the morning. It would help with noise and light if this room had curtains instead of blinds. Also, the wooded window did not seem to fit the frames very well.

The Hotel is beautiful and in a great location. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful and there's a lovely, relaxing bar area. The breakfast has everything you would expect. The cooked breakfast was lovely.

The only things that was slightly inconvenient was that the room was quite chilly when we arrived and there was no hot water from the shower. We observed the sign that says due to the building being older you need to run the water for 5 minutes before it heats up, but after running it for 10 minutes it was still cold. We ended up having to have a quick mini bath instead.

We loved everything, from the very warm welcome when we arrived to the farewell we received when leaving. The whole place is gorgeous, a very old building that creaks when you walk up the stairs, soooo homely. The rooms were soooo clean, beds were comfortable, pillows were soft and the towels were soft and fluffy. Bathroom was so clean. We had a double room and a family room which had a double bed and 2 single beds. There was plenty of space to move around. Bar area was really inviting. My Husband said the Gents toilet downstairs was the best he had ever been in! The breakfast is served in the breakfast room, separate to the restaurant and this was great. The large full English was delicious and piping hot. Croissants, Muffins, toast, jams, fruit, tea, coffee and juices are plentiful. We would definitely come back to stay, thank you so much x

Breakfast was fab! Room was cosey, automatic night lights in bathroom work great (no need to blind everyone else in the room) staff were very helpful, bar prices were competitive, plenty of parking, felt very safe both in the hotel and while out in the evening.

The reception area with its stained sofas covered with throws was very off putting when we first arrived. no maid service in the 3 nights we stayed, would have been nice for them to pop their head in and changed any towels that was needed and emptied the bin.

Rooms with bath not just shower is something I definitely like. Also general feel of the place

There is no do not disturb sign, what if I don't want my room disturbed? Also one of the staff decided without warning to abruptly shut the bar when we were still there and drinking which is rude. Call last orders ten minutes beforehand or at least say something. Also it's a hotel the bar shouldn't close anyway!

Quaint period hotel, with old England feel. Lovely breakfast room with white linen & a cosy sitting area at reception. Beds comfortable. We were pre-warned a wedding was taking place on the night of our stay & although there was chatter till about 1ish, we’d taken earplugs! Staff were lovely & friendly. If there is a downside, there were areas that could do with a refresh ie reception desk, grout in bathrooms, bedroom window handles etc but these did not distract from us enjoying our stay, as everything functioned. Our stay was to attend a family party in the area .

The staff were extremely friendly on check in and when we went in/out. The breakfast staff were really lovely too, making sure we had everything we needed and the breakfast was cooked to perfection. Hotel located on one of the main roads through Hayling island so it was easy to find and ample free parking. Facilities in the room were good, we had everything we needed. Interesting building with lots of history.

Our room had wooden blinds which let in far too much light, we were woken at 6am and our room was pure daylight so we couldn't get back to sleep. The bed was small for the room size, felt it would have been more comfy as a king size for two adults and there was room for one that size, the mattress dipped in the middle so it wasn't a very comfortable sleep. There was some kind of generator outside our window which was noisy. We stay in a lot of hotels, we felt that the room here was a bit overpriced for the area.

The staff were exceptional. Always kind, & helpful. As a very elderly woman, there were times when I needed help, & they were always there to help out. Over & above what would be expected. I was most grateful. There was a nice outdoor area to eat, drink, or just sit.

Sadly, dinners are not served on Mondays & Tuesdays. When they were available, the choice seemed rather restricted & pricey. There are other places to eat close by, so not a disaster! There really was very little that you could noy like about this hotel,
