Beautiful location right on The Promenade. Layout very quirky. Best rainfall shower I’ve ever had. Bed comfortable and all amenities including a Dyson hairdryer. Staff helpful. Good atmosphere and drinking and dining (though I didn’t on this occasion).

Too many pillows and cushions which then took up space on floor in an already small room. Bathroom down spiral staircase was quirky and bathroom amazing (same size as bedroom) but spiral staircase very challenging to get up and down (and I’m fit late forties) especially in bare feet because of ironwork. Bigger steps or covered steps would be more comfortable. Liked the automatic light above the staircase, nice touch.

These people will do everything to make your stay the best experience ever, trust me! The premises are wonderful, the drinks and the food at their bar and restaurant are world class but nothing compares to the people who are working there! We‘ve had the best time of our lives and we cannot wait to be back! Thank you so much Judit, Ivonna, Micaela, Sarah, Laura, Eduardo and everyone else! The Dunkerton‘s created an exceptional place with wonderful people and we can highly recommend their Superdry store and Dunkerton‘s Pub and the Holland Cooper boutique too! If you really love your wife, take her for shopping there! Best wishes, Fabio

A good centrally situated Regency property now converted into a hotel with spacious bar and dining facilities all be it part under tented enclosures. The Hotel room we stayed in was on the top floor and had a quirky but stylish interior. They can arrange on street day parking 12 noon to 12 noon at the rear of the property but there is no car park it’s free if you book direct with the hotel but £10 if booked via a third party agency. It had good coffee and tea making facilities. Our room had large feature bath in the bedroom but separate shower room / wc/ wash basin. Lovely fluffy towels and a superbly comfortable bed.

Access was by stairs only ( there was no lift) but the winder stair treads would not be ideal for those with mobility issues

Excellent room

Problem with room leaking onto my son’s head from room above went back the same night after reporting this but was even worse so they had to change rooms which was inconvenient as it was late on at night but not only that the problem could have been so much worse if the ceiling had come down plus we didn’t know if it was just water or toilet water dripping 😩 told the staff of the problem the morning we were leaving saying we was not happy with the situation they apologised but noting more which thought was quite bad

This swanky boutique hotel certainly has an excellent team behind it. But the layout was unconventional - basically it is a set of 4-5 homes that have been (skillfully) merged, all connected by a corridor of marquis at the front, which also serves as one of the two restaurants. We had to walk through this area with our luggage while people were dining, which was a bit weird, and then up 4 flights of stairs (no elevator). But my criticisms end there. The staff were professional and obliging, and our party of 7 had a grand time eating and drinking. The food is exceptionally good. The rooms were an interesting combination - a smallish but perfectly appointed bedroom equal in size to the large bathroom with tub, spa-style shower area, etc. Ultimately it was a strong 8/10 with great style and good value.

The layout of this hotel isn't for everyone - make sure you get help if you don't want a gym workout getting to the top floor with your bags.

My room was beautiful, bed and especially the pillows very comfortable. I had a cosy room. Bathroom enormous and a great shower. Staff were excellent and made me feel very comfortable travelling and dining alone and the food delicious

The room had a spiral staircase to the bathroom, wasn't a problem me but it definitely could of been for anyounsure on there feet. There's also a club next door, (not the dj that they tell you about on site on a Saturday night) and i could hear music and laughing until 6am. So if your a light sleeper something to be aware of.

Everything had been well thought through for a luxurious, welcoming stay in the best location for shops, cafes and the Literary Festival site. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom downstairs was exceptional with a wonderful, quick filling bath and 2 sinks. All facilities had been carefully thought about and the 2 restaurants were so good with a lovely ambience. I found my room, no. 4, to be quiet at the beginning of the week, with only a little traffic noise. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and I will book again next year.

The only complaints I had were that, as a short person, I had to climb onto the toilet seat to flush, as the chain was near the ceiling, and also the clothes hangers, which I couldn't use. For my next booking I will check that the room caters for small people!

Easy to check in and locate the property. Clear instructions for parking were given. Welcoming staff at front desk - offered to carry bags and showed us the room. Room facilities were excellent, maybe could have benefited from full length mirror in bedroom section as not a lot of room to stand behind the door. Some noise during Friday evening, which was to be expected with the bar next door but nothing excessive and the hotel did offer quieter rooms if desired. Didn't eat at the hotel but drinks were reasonably priced. Location was very central, we walked everywhere we wanted to go in the area as we felt safe as two women travelling.

Nothing we didn't like. Steps in bedroom may be an issue for a disabled person but I presume that would be changed if needed.

The room and location were great, the fact the room had aircon on such warm days was always a blessing. We had such a nice stay the double shower the bath, the rooms were dark when you wanted to sleep and you didn't hear to much road noise

We ate dinner at 131 the first night we stayed and it was very poor to be honest, I paid a good amount of money for a steak that a terrible cut full of fat and way over cooked, I would def look elsewhere to eat if we ever stayed again The fact you have to walk through the restaurant to get to the hotel room need addressing also its uncomfortable for the people staying and the people who are eating at the restaurant I feel as people have bags and so on bumping into chairs or everyone stops what they are doing and stares at you.

Breakfast was delicious, although the eggs and hollandaise were cold ( to be fair, we were on a top floor room) but maybe this could be improved? Room service dinner the night before however was just FANTASTIC (see photos) We were upgraded and the upgrade was stunning (photos below) This is our second time staying here, and it was just as lovely as the first time.

The 2nd night room was a little cramped, but we didn’t mind as the first room had been wonderful.
