Hostel is easy to find, nice and friendly staff and smooth check in. They have a bar in the hostel which seems well stocked. They provide fresh linens for your bed and pillow. Towels is extra to rent. Bathrooms are equipped with soaps for showering. No personal storage with locks in the room but there are lockers on the floors and a storage room for which you can rent a lock at a 5euro redeemable upon return deposit.

The corridors don't have good ventilation and as such there is always a foul or musty smells from the toilets in the corridors. While the cleaning staff does a good job of cleaning the common areas and bathrooms, the smells is still there. Some of the rooms are exposed to the street and you could have noise issues sometimes but nothing too major

The hostel was really quiet, in one of the outer parts of the city and surrounded by water so it was great for walking. You could walk into the central sites within 15 minutes if you were a fast walker. There were two metro stations within a short walk and buses too. Local supermarkets for self catering within 5 minute walk. The kitchen was modern and there was plenty of chairs and tables to eat at. My room was a small single with en-suite and was very comfortable and perfect for my needs.

I didn’t ask but wondered if there was a washing machine.

The location is perfect, the staff is friendly. You can leave your luggage before check-in time and pick it up after check-out time. There are lockers where you can leave your luggage. The people you will stay with in the room are up to your luck. The people I stayed with were friendly people and we chatted all night. Overall it was a positive experience for me. The best hostel to stay in Cologne. (If you do not have a lock for the lockers where you will put your luggage, you can get it from the reception for a 5 Euro deposit. You get your money back when you deliver the lock to the reception).

The bed was not comfortable.

I arrived in Cologne at 6 a.m. and wanted to rest in a bed before starting the day. So I booked the additional day since check-in is not before the afternoon. The staff was very forthcoming with making that work, although the reception is closed between 12 and 8 p.m. They were absolutely reliable giving the information shortly before they close the reservation: sending PIN code to open the front door and explaining where to find the key card for my room etc.

The few restrooms I found were smelling rather badly. Both nights I stayed there. I didn’t search high and low though - maybe there were others, nicer ones.

Location idéal. Very convenient and secure luggage room, beds comfortable, showers good.

Toilets not that clean, smell bad and somebody's smoked in it

Excellent location. Nice to have a room for just the four of us. Bedding was clean. Room was warm - even when it was snowing outside. Good bar with fair pricing. Breakfast was basic but very reasonably priced. Staff were helpful.

Some guests did not respect facilities and the toilet/shower area was sometimes left in quite a poor state. Others insisted on using the shower/toilet as a smoking room - with windows left wide open (leaving the facilities freezing cold in Jan). None of this is the fault of the owners/management, of course, just inconsiderate guests!

The most important point is that all the beds are separate and not bunk beds. The rooms are large with sufficient space for movement and luggage. Another most valuable point is the special luggage room on the first floor with several lockers of varying sizes. This is one of the best hostels I have stayed in. The location close to the Cologne Hbf and cathedral also adds to the positive side of the hostel.

The location is unbeatable.. just near to the central station. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. there are no bunk beds so feel spacious and free. the plug point near to each of bed is big plus and the storage space/locker is big enough. early checkout was possible but need to mention as the reception is not open from midnight to 8am. so you need to mention if checking out before 8 am to get the refund back for the keycard. the reception ppl are super friendly and cool. The shower was good and clean, which good pressure and hot water. its clean

Nothing can think of

Excellent location - close to the main station. Short distance from the airport. Visits to Bonn and Dusseldorf was a breeze. Lots of food outlets at the station and available late in the night. Lots of eateries within walking distance. Also many kiosks. Close to the Cathedral, which can be visited early before the crowds. Many attractions easily reachable from the hotel using various modes of transport. The main bridge and ferry points are just a 10 min walk from the hotel. From a location perspective, one of the best I have stayed in.

The location couldn't have been better, everything was a 10min walk away from the hotel and the key card system really made checking in late at night super easy.

The breakfast was pricy and not that good. The room was clean, but the bathrooms on the other hand weren't. The hallway was super narrow (which i didn't mind that much), and filled with stuff, so it didn't make the hotel look clean.
