Great location, hotel is dated but I kinda like that it’s an old hotel. Some nice decor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities in room were good, no aircon but had a fan. Our room was clean, tv in good position and all working. Bed was comfortable, shower was hot with good pressure. I would stay again if all rooms were like ours. Cheap parking too £5 all day.

Parking can be problematic. Too many cars not enough spaces, ends up with the carpark being a free for all and people blocking cars in (not the fault of the hotel) hotel is dated and needs some TLC but I would stay again.

This is my third visit to the Burstin this year, and although I cannot fault the rooms or the cleanliness, I really feel you need more staff. Carvery - I took my mum for mother's day dinner, not sure what happened with the stuffing but it was solid and lethal and the potatoes were wayyyy overcooked, our plates did not get cleared away, we were charged £15.50 but did not know till later that we should have had 4 courses, we didn't, we only had 1 course, cause staff failed to tell us, Bar service is shocking - the place was packed and only 1 member of staff, glasses do not get cleared away, tv is too loud Bingo caller - oh my gawd, it was a packed bar, could barely hear her, and then she'd go off on a tangent about something non related, really frustrating, either call bingo or have a natter session,

We stayed in a Seaview with balcony on the 8th floor. There are 4 lifts in the reception area . 2 of the 4 were out of order and the 2 that were working only went to the 7th floor so we had to walk up 2 flights with all our bags. Later that day, 3 out the 4 lifts were OUT OF ORDER... Good View from the room was amazing, and the bed was really comfortable.

Bad Main room door did not lock , it was just with card from outside. Door lock on inside of door didn't fit the lock. We put our suitcase in front of it at night. You could NOT lock the patio door at all. If you lifted the handle on the inside, next door could lean over the barrier and open your door!!! Security not great.... Furniture in room and polystyrene roof tiles very dated. Order the English breakfast and bacon bap from the cafe. Very slow service and noone really seemed bothered and bacon tasted off so never ate it anyway.

Very good location and spacious family rooms. I didn’t expect that the room will have so many beds and it was a very nice bonus. During the night it was quiet and we couldn’t hear other guests or what is happening outside. The beds are really comfortable and we had a peaceful sleep. The swimming pool was good, kids were having a great time there.

The windows had a lot of spider webs from the inside. The breakfast didn’t have a lot of options. I would say it was the worst breakfast I have ever had in the hotel. The parking spaces are very limited for a such massive hotel so I ended up just leaving my car in the middle of the parking.

Loved the room over looking the harbour clean and comfortable also dog friendly couldn't fault it

The £50 deposit you pay if you have a dog extra money to pay out on top of your holiday then have to wait for it to be refunded, the new layout in the Victorian Restaurant the buffet island you could walk round had been replaced so basically there was a line for food, I've been going to the Burstin years, the changes it had gone down hill, chef with an attitude problem, staff hovering to whip your plates away, I put my breakfast down went to get some bread staff member hovering over my plate ready to whip it away I complained because the chef was also whipping away plates terrible attitude go and get another plate then, no pancakes, no pots of yoghurt or boiled eggs in the morning no cheese and biscuits in the evening me and my friends were there for our birthday celebrations

I liked the location of this hotel and the balcony in our room. I think these were the only positive aspects.

What I didn’t like: • The room wasn’t ready at 3:00 PM, even though that was the official check-in time. We had to wait until 4:00 PM. • Three elevators were broken, and the only one working only went up to the 7th floor. We had to carry our luggage up the stairs. • When we went to dinner, there was almost no food left — only some cakes and water. The waiter told us we were too late, even though it was only 6:00 PM. • I would not recommend choosing the dinner option. • Breakfast was better, but they forgot to put out butter, which many guests were looking for. Overall, it was a very unusual and disappointing hotel experience

The view and balcony were excellent! Lots of great extras in the room such as a fridge and ironing board, chairs and table for the balcony. Set in an old Victorian building. There's even a gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room, as well as plenty of entertainment and events held there. You could stay at the hotel all holiday if you wanted and find plenty to do!

Bed could have been bigger and was a bit uncomfortable for my liking, however I still slept well. Bacon at breakfast was not very nice but perhaps I just picked a bad bit. There were a couple of slightly dirty and tired bits of decor but it didn't really bother us. The view, balcony, fridge and the overall price more than made up for that!

The room i was in was very clean.....however the twin bed nearest window has burst springs....and am afraid after a rather long 12 and half hours drive all i wanted was a comfortable bed. I ended up taking both quilts off the other bed and using the 2 quilts on top of mattresd so it was comfortable. Breakfast was excellent value. Staff very efficient and helpful up to a point.

The staff on reception on my arrival seemed to be snowed under trying to deal with a few guests at one time. That i found quite unhelpful. More importantly the hotel car parking for disabled is pravtically non-existant....i ended up double parking. I had no choice. I was utterly exhausted and just meeded a bed and sleep. Once i got over to sleep.however there was some very rowdy.and drunk guests trying everyones doors....knocking until you answered. Also there is no informatiom in the rooms regarding all facilities that the hotel offer but the hotel is perfectly situated.....stunning views. Found the bathroom to be a little on the small side

Written my wife: A Wonderful Stay Full of Surprises and Warm Hospitality My husband, daughter, and I recently stayed at the Grand Burstin Hotel in Folkestone to surprise my parents, who were celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. They were already booked into the hotel, completely unaware that we had secretly arranged to join them — and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be! We had been a little apprehensive due to some of the previous reviews, but were very pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel has been newly renovated. The changes are clearly paying off — the rooms were clean, bright, and welcoming. Our family room was spacious and well-presented, with a beautiful view of the coast. While the window was slightly drafty, it didn’t cause any issues at all, even during a thunderstorm! My parents were in a premier room and absolutely loved it. It had spectacular views and a lovely seating area — the perfect spot for them to relax and take in the scenery. The standout of our stay, however, was the exceptional service from a member of staff named Tori, who was working at the swimming area. Upon hearing it was my parents’ 40th anniversary, she went above and beyond to make the occasion special. She took the time to talk to them, ask about their story, and really make them feel celebrated. She even allowed our entire family a complimentary swim and surprised us all with vouchers for a free drink at the bar. Throughout the evening, she remembered our names and made a point of checking in with us — a truly thoughtful and personal touch. Thanks to the warm hospitality, great service, and charming location, our entire family had a memorable and enjoyable stay. We loved exploring Folkestone and left with only positive things to say. We’re already planning our next visit and wouldn’t hesitate to return to the Grand Burstin Hotel.

Parents found the evening buffet meal lacking in choice.

Hi, for the star rating, the hotel is really very good, the staff are so nice and helpful. thank you. The food at breakfast and dinner takes some beating, so well cooked and set out. Our room was nice and clean with t.v and tea coffee, with a great sea view, Really good location, a short walk to the town, uphill, cobbled streets which are a bit steep, once you made it up, you can catch you breath and start shopping. I'am 67. If you fancy a beer or maybe some food, its well worth it just to have a look, at an old church that been turn into a pub/ witherspoon. Overall a really nice weekend.

Hi, just one thing, the bed a bit small for 2 people and the mattress seemed a bit old , but we do have a super king at home.
