This is my third visit to the Burstin this year, and although I cannot fault the rooms or the cleanliness, I really feel you need more staff. Carvery - I took my mum for mother's day dinner, not sure what happened with the stuffing but it was solid and lethal and the potatoes were wayyyy overcooked, our plates did not get cleared away, we were charged £15.50 but did not know till later that we should have had 4 courses, we didn't, we only had 1 course, cause staff failed to tell us, Bar service is shocking - the place was packed and only 1 member of staff, glasses do not get cleared away, tv is too loud Bingo caller - oh my gawd, it was a packed bar, could barely hear her, and then she'd go off on a tangent about something non related, really frustrating, either call bingo or have a natter session,

Hi, for the star rating, the hotel is really very good, the staff are so nice and helpful. thank you. The food at breakfast and dinner takes some beating, so well cooked and set out. Our room was nice and clean with t.v and tea coffee, with a great sea view, Really good location, a short walk to the town, uphill, cobbled streets which are a bit steep, once you made it up, you can catch you breath and start shopping. I'am 67. If you fancy a beer or maybe some food, its well worth it just to have a look, at an old church that been turn into a pub/ witherspoon. Overall a really nice weekend.

Hi, just one thing, the bed a bit small for 2 people and the mattress seemed a bit old , but we do have a super king at home.

We went away with my daughter and her partner to celebrate my husband’s 70th birthday. We had a wonderful weekend, despite the fire alarm going off at 7am and having no hot water in 1 of the rooms; but both were sorted out efficiently by the staff. We ate out, as there are so many lovely cafes and restaurants nearby and lots of fresh fish, so we can’t comment on the food in the hotel. Yet we did use the bar and played darts and lots of people were dancing in the ballroom/disco. Nice atmosphere and friendly bar staff. Parking was easy and there is another car park opposite. We had some lovely walks, do look around the Harbour Arm, as some nice craft stalls, restaurants, crazy golf and live entertainment. The 1st photo is a view from our hotel window.

I usually stay at other local "budget" hotels. At the Burstin my room had an electric fan in case I was too warm, an electric wall fire in case I was too cold, an ironing board and iron, and a hair dryer. I got a double bed and a handy light switch over the bed to turn off the main room light without having to get out of bed. There was a proper desk and chair and an easy chair too with a small coffee table handy beside the chair. The wardrobe was adequate for one, and had a good supply of nice quality wooden coat hangers. The carpet was clean and in good condition, and the room had good, lined curtains so that the room was nice and dark for sleeping. The bathroom was small but clean and tidy, with a bath and over the bath shower too.

Having stayed there before I think they could do with new firedoors on each floor - the originals are pretty battered and scratched and detract from the appearance of the hotel interior. I also think they might consider naming each wing after local places instead of making the place sound like a prison with "A wing" and so on. Other than that, I have no complaints.

If honest a there was only 1 plug socket for personal use. Unless you unplugged the television or kettle. And maybe a telephone for to be able to order food or a drink. So you only have to collect it. Or maybe on some deals offer room service? But all in all the location and the view depending on which floor you're on. Are stunning

If honest. There isn't much not to like. I can see that the front lobby has had abitnof a refurbishment. Maybe strip the wall paper in the bedrooms too smooth finish wall as the paper is old school.

the property has had a refurb which makes the rooms more presentable but unfortunately the bathroom in this room had been painted and it looked nice but there was no shelf unit to put ur toiletries on e.g tooth brushes tooth paste deodorant ect as there was only just a sink no vanity unit plus there were only 3 channels on the TV so never had a lot of choice which was quite boring

the only thing i do take offence to is residents living in the hotel being allowed to walk into the bar seating area with their Pjs on there should also be done sort of rules for dogs being allowed where ppl eat theif food it’s not fair as there were a lot of dog hairs around

The staff are all very helpful and kind. The evening meal buffet was like good basic home cooking. The little swimming pool and sauna were good if you went at the right time (quiet) . My room had a balcony with big patio doors that you can open wide . Unusual these days, it was so nice to be in bed with fresh sea air coming in. The room had a fridge which was useful for keeping drinks chilled. The evening cabaret was great with a talented singing/dancing group followed by this really cute little man singing 50’s rock n roll songs . He hopped about and wriggled his bottom . I fell in love with him instantly. Such a cool guy. Sigh . What else ? The location is brilliant, right on the sea from with views of the harbour and east Folkestone one side and in my room views to the west . The lifts worked well . My tip would be to arrive about 12 for an easy parking space and check in from 2pm maybe earlier . They let us go to our rooms early too .

A bit dated and worn in places . But I didn’t mind really.

The staff are great and couldn't do more for you when you need them. The swimming pool is the hottest or warmest swimming pool in Britain. It is so beautifully maintained by two awesome pool attendees by the names of Simon and Jamie. They keep the level of the water and heat at the right level, with the right chlorine level from constant checks throughout your swim. The cleanlynest of the changing rooms and the entire swimming area is above emaculate, that you can feel comfortable to read or do your work on a devise by the pool side. You can converse with wonderful patrons of the pool, whilst doing your morning swim workout. Or Go to the gym for a good work out first , before relaxing in the sauna and pool afterwards. If ever you're in Folkestone, then this is the must go to place, for the summer or winter. Being in the pool or by the pool side, made me feel like I was in the barammas, every time I attended lol. Welcome to Jamaica man.....lol The price is amazingly small to pay to use the pool, whether you attended the hotel or not - They have a price for guests and price for locals / walk-ins. and the hotel is an amazing place to stay for the price of the night. If you are ever in Folkestone, you must stay here. Bless

The Cabaret show closes way too early lol

Lovely stay. Comfortable and great value for money. The location was phenomenal! Does need modernisation, such as: mixer taps, a phone in the room, a plug by the bed to charge the phone. Little things like that. Also, more parking bays for Blue Badge holders - there are only 3 for such a massive hotel. The bed is very comfortable and the view fabulous - overlooking the harbour. Breakfast was yummy in the Victoria restaurant (gilded ceilings and chandeliers). Finally, having a heated indoor swimming pool was luxurious. Between 7am and 8am is adults only.

Our stay was, as always, absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by the warm and attentive staff at check-in. Since we arrived early, we left our car and enjoyed a lovely walk in the area. This time, we were accommodated in a family room, which was still very comfortable, with a cozy bed and a breathtaking sea view. Upon entering the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful refreshments provided—bottled water, indulgent hot chocolate, and delicious toasty biscuits. A truly wonderful experience once again!
