Our second stay at Eight. Warm welcome at reception. This time we had a Superior King room which is in a separate building to the main hotel - only 1 min walk away which wasn't a problem. The room is in a lovely building, beautifully decorated, spacious with high ceilings and spotless ensuite shower room. Comfortable bed and good selection of tea/choc/coffee in the room.
Whilst the location in central Bath is great, it meant this room was noisy. It was on the ground floor by the main entrance so there was quite a bit of door slamming and we had loud upstairs neighbours who you could hear walking around (heavily) both at night and first thing in the morning from about 06.30. Plus, we were unlucky to have a shop alarm going off for an hour first thing and vehicles reversing right outside the window. Obviously not the hotel's fault but worth considering if you want a quiet lie in.

I had a wonderful stay at Eight Hotel in Bath. The location couldn’t be better—just steps from the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, and a short walk from the train station. Despite being in the heart of the city, the hotel is tucked away on a peaceful, charming cobbled street that feels like a hidden gem. The hotel itself is full of character, housed in historic Georgian buildings that have been tastefully updated. It was clean, stylish, and cozy. For the price and location, Eight Hotel offers excellent value. It’s the perfect blend of boutique comfort, historic charm, and convenience. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Bath.

Excellent quiet location 15 walk from The Crescent and 2 mins from the Romans Baths and shops. I liked the historical rooms - I stayed in the basement (likely to have been the old kitchen) which was large and bright. Large bathroom with huge shower and plenty of hot water.
I can only sleep on firm pillows and the pillows were soft and feathery (a personal thing) and very bright in June. Not easy to get close by car as the hotel is in a pedestrianised area. Parked in the Cricket Club which was about 5 mins walk away. Tried to park in Waitrose but due to the one way system couldn’t figure out how to get there. Didn’t understand how if I could drop off outside The Abby hotel which a few yards away or if it was coaches only. But that’s not the hotels fault… most cities in the UK are a confusing maze of one way systems, bus lanes and unclear parking rules.

Location is excellent. The venue is split across two buildings. One houses the dining facilities, some rooms and the ‘honesty bar’. We were in the second building a short distance away. The location of this was truly lovely - the main door opening onto a square with a large tree. Viewers of Bridgerton will recognise the location. The Abbey and Roman Baths are literally round the corner. The rooms vary in size, spread over three floors. There is no lift. We were in room 19 on the third floor. I would describe it as an attic room. Adequate for a short stay but smaller than expected. Toiletries including earplugs included. Room 17, in comparison, was much larger and looked out over the square. If you struggle with stairs, you need to be specific with your requirements when booking re: floor and room size / facilities. The honesty bar is fantastic.
Breakfast was priced at £20 - a little high compared to surrounding venues. We did have an issue with the shower but it was attended to promptly. Some outside noise in the early hours from drunk idiots, but to be expected in such a central location.

Other than that the bed was extremely comfortable and the room was spotless although cleaners were quite noisy in the corridors hoovering outside our bedroom door when will still had a good amount of time to check out.
Did not have breakfast as too expensive on top of cost of room and because I believed I had paid for breakfast in with the price as it was room rate with breakfast non refundable. The bedroom was not really a suite and for all the space they could easily have had a king sized bed in the room instead of a small double in a massive room with hardly anything in it. There were no surfaces to put belongings either in the bedroom or bathroom. The table for coffee etc could have been bigger and the table between the two chairs could have been much bigger and more surface space in the very large bathroom.

Fantastic central location, in an associated building on Abbey Green (by the Giant Plane Tree). Lots of tourist cafes / bars / restaurants within an easy stumble. Lovely, helpful receptionist made checkin simple and showed me to the 'annex' and my room. Lovely room, lots of nice, quality touches. Quiet too.
I wasn't aware, but my room was on the top floor of 3, steep stairs and no lift. Just made it. Also, accepting the top floor location, a power shower would have helped what was was ater flow that struggled and was the only negative thing about the room.

The location is great, right in the middle of the old town, three minutes walking distance to Baths. The hotel is small and the building is very old, possibly from 1500s but that is what you expect from a building that sits next door (literally) from the oldest surviving residential building in town, from the 1400s. Although old, the hotel is well mantained and very clean. There is a bar in the basement that is up to you to use after the personnel leaves at about 6 pm. You just keep a record of what you drink and of course you can bring your own food and drinks. We had a good time there. Our son had his own room, basically. His quarters had no door, but it was a separate space with a bed, very convenient.
Nothing, really. You need to understand the limitations, that you are going to a historical building that must have relatively small rooms, short doors etc, a small inconvenience as part of the experience. Once you adjust your expectations, this hotel will surprise you as a really comfortable and welcoming place.

Staff ... professional and friendly. Over and above helpful and kind providing a bottle of Prosecco to celebrate our 50 years of friendship. Bedding so comfortable and cosy. Location was superb. Light at floor level in the bathroom was very useful at night. It looked like the owners had sat or even stayed in the room to ascertain what was needed to ensure a comfortable break.
Size of the room was rather small. No sizeable drawer space. Chair had to be moved to use vanity drawers and just became an obstacle.

Beautiful! Great setting, gorgeous building and rooms. Comfortable bed & great bathroom facilities. Nice and secure / roomy etc Breakfast was lovely - albeit at £20 per person it was a bit expensive!
My only niggle (which I’m sure isn’t their fault - probably due to the old nature of the building) is there was no air con - we stayed there in 30 degree heatwave & once the room was warm it didn’t cool. They did provide tower fans in our room but the twin room had one fan that was slightly broken.

We stayed in one of the large rooms that come with the roll top bath that looked over the square. The location was amazing for getting around Bath centre. Close to everything and quite a buzzing atmosphere. It’s a very short walk from reception. Room was clean and tidy and comfortable. Only downside we had was that you’d expect a bigger bed for the size of the room.
